- Do you need some Christmas dinner ideas? Well with Christmas just around the corner, a lot of department stores and supermarkets have launched festive menus. Two of those places being Wetherspoons and IKEA. So I decided to pay them a visit to and try out their Christmas dinners to see who's best.

IKEA look better
Weatherspoons
Hi we love watching your reviews… you’re a true professional… keep up the good work and well done on all your success 🩷
They both looked awful! That said, I do enjoy your channel very much.
Probably IKEA. The Wetherspoons one looked a bit sad, like a Birds Eye microwave meal on a tray. Can’t believe sprouts weren’t an option on either, you can’t have a Christmas dinner without sprouts!
Sprouts are rank.
I agree. But I still eat them at Christmas!
They are rank but it’s a Christmas dinner.
It’s a legal requirement, like cranberry sauce which is also ignored for the other 11 months of the year.
That's exactly what a spoons meal is.
The Wetherspoons one looks like a TV dinner!
Its a TH-cam dinner lol
Looks pretty awful I am surprised
The Wetherspoon pices vary from pub to pub. Unlike your £14.79 meal, the same thing in my local Wetherspoons is £12.05. I think the best value christmas meal is at a carvery, real roast joints of meat and loads of veg.
I'v been taken for a ride! £12 would have been better value
13.51 with alcoholic drink at my local spoons
@@iamtheeggman1986 Just looked at another Wetherspoons near me and it would cost me £11.52 with an alcoholic drink. This and the other Wetherspoons are only a couple of miles apart so it's a bit of a lottery on the price you'll be paying..
But he went to a fancy new place
Hi...cannot beat homemade Christmas Dinner every time x
So true!
They both look a bit grim sadly… but I’d say IKEA looked slightly better because of the potatoes & proper turkey. Are you going to review a proper Xmas roast from a carvery? Hope so 😋☺️
Yeah IKEA , better value for money
I’m surprised you didn’t have an issue with spoons deli stile turkey slices. No roast spuds? Poxy small stuffing ball tasting of fish? And the price Jaysis! I’d go for IKEA by a mile. Strange tasting parsnips and I agree with you on the stuffing. Looked more like a sausage to me. But roasted potatoes, real turkey plus’s the add-ons I thought the second was nicer. Can’t understand why no sprouts on either meal. Great to see your subscribers increase. You deserve it buddy.
The main attraction was the bird at IKEA for me. But Wetherspoons for the veggies and I agree with you about sprouts. What a tragedy 😂😂. Enjoy your Christmas dinner at home this year. God bless
Taking everything into consideration the Ikea one is the winner. Quite a few other vloggers haven't been that impressed with the Spoons Christmas dinner considering the price. Good vlog. 👍
Spoons was the better one out of the two but I think I would prefer the Sainsbury's one out of all I've had recently
Hello from Los Angeles! 🙋♀️
I'm voting for Ikea! The supporting cast looked good but the big star of Ikea's meal was the fact you got a portion of real turkey, and though it was white meat, it didn't look dry.
I sometimes dine at the Burbank Calif Ikea as a first choice when in the area. Only because, the menu is huge. The food is well prepared. Prices are more than reasonable. The noise level is surprisingly low. And finally, I can honestly say, I've Never had a bad meal there. I can't say that about many proper restaurants I've dined at.
IKEA is one of my favourite places too
We don’t eat turkey in Sweden - not at Christmas, not ever - so it makes me feel sad that IKEA in the US apparently serves American food rather than Swedish 🥺
@@user-qu5ty4eg1j This IKEA was in Britain where we DO eat turkey but don’t worry the star attraction is still the Swedish meatballs
I'm American and make a complete turkey dinner once a month during the winter. I start with Thanksgiving, then, Christmas...January, February and March. I cook for two days, sometimes making double batches of turkey stock, cranberries, etc. to freeze. Then we eat leftovers i.e. turkey sandwiches (both hot and cold), soup, tetrazini, turkey with gravy over biscuits, etc. Did I mention I love turkey?
The last time I saw a Xmas dinner as bad as the Wetherspoons one was another Wetherspoons in Blackpool.
I've seen the weatherspoons one, I don't think you can call it a Christmas dinner for me, no Yorkshire pud, no roast potatoes, I've never understood mash on a roast either
Posted the same thing about mash 👎🏻 the clue is in the name of the meal , roast 😊
@@thornbird6768I like both mashed and a few roasties.
Should have Roasties as well as mash. Nothing wrong with mash on a roast dinner
I watched this 2 days ago. I must have a time machine.
No roast spuds = ZERO points ! what a cheek !
The ad I watched before your video was one of those combat games and ended with... one must survive! A fitting tagline I thought.
It was more expensive and it did have the bogus turkey, but I agree, Wetherspoons was the the winner. The meal looked better, and by your account, tasted better.
Now, for Thanksgiving here, my sister in law cooked us a whole turkey. It tasted like a lifetime of bad decisions and emotional pain. I may have covered most of mine with stuffing and accidentally dropped it into the rubbish can. I also got to listen to my brother discuss politics. At great length. In depth. For hours.
So, I daresay you had a better meal on both occasions then I did!
Both low end eating establishments, which I wouldn’t try either.
The Ikea picture on the thumbnail, looks slightly better, but neither for me.
Yorkshire puddings are a must; how dare they run out of them.
I can't believe they ran out! 🙁
That's a criminal offense mate, up here in the North of England... @@everydayimeating3407
Congrats on 10K subs, you deserve many more! love the videos.
Thanks 😀
Hello, EIE
Both meals looked smashing. But I preferred Ikea. The turkey was fresh, the roasters looked great, and the pigs in blankets were delicious. Cheaper too. Ikea is Swedish, so their meals are always going to differ 😊😊
Fishy stuffing sounds a bit suspicious, hope it doesn't make you poorly. Did you have enough room for diam cake at IKEA haha good vid again!
the fishy stuffing was a bit fishy lol, I didn't have enough room lol 2 dinners was enough for me
Christmas dinner without roasties, no way. It has to be Ikea for me, decent price too.
ohhhhhhh smoked mackerel stuffin balls sound so nice to me
It does sound great but not when its supposed to be pork lol
THANKS AGAIN 👍👍
I love you're voice tone ❤I like IKEA looks more natural and delicious
My favourite meal of the year🎉
Of them both I think I'd got for Ikea because the turkey, roasters and pigs in blankets looked awesome but I'd try to get there a it earlier so as not to miss the cabbage and Yorky pud🙂🙂
I will have to get there earlier next time
this will be interesting
Ikea 100% ,looked beautiful , my mouth was watering .thankyou😊
Spoons let themselves down with this one, processed turkey and NO ROASTIES!
Awesome video...💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 What brand of jacket do you wear in this video...is it guess?? It's hard to see...but really nice jacket I must say...👍🏼👍🏼
I think the stuffing ball was "off "
They both look a little like school dinners! I've tried the Wetherspoons one, there was nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't the best meal I've had there... I usually think Wetherspoons are one of the better chain pubs for food..... Wetherspoons stopped doing Sunday roasts about 5 years ago, so this might be why they no longer have the facilities to do things like roast potatoes....
IKEA apart from the missing items. It has roasties instead of mash and real turkey. Neither had sprouts though which is quite an omission. I had the Spoons one last year and won't order it again. A very sad meal. The processed turkey, mash instead of roast but worst of all the stuffing which was over dry and had a contents of a hoover bag quality about it. I may take a trip down to my local IKEA to find out for myself.
Real turkey from Ikea; flatpack, compressed wood "turkey" from Wetherspoons. No contest.
This is a good example why Toby carvery, if you have a good one nearby, offer excellent fare.
I need to try them
Being a Scandinavian I am sad to agree with you! IKEA should have stuck to their roots (then they would have won!). But their sad plate wouldn't even qualify them as a worthy solstice sacrifice! So ko they get to live an other year! 😛
You said it solstice sacrifice
Ikea definitely looked the best me and my 6 kids always had a Sunday dinner at ikea when our PIP/DLA was paid once a month lovely meal.
🤣🤣
Both are very disappointed
Weatherspoon, no roasties a must on a Christmas dinner
IKEA, you have to pay extra for things
That should be on a Christmas dinner
Pig in blanket no sprout or Yorkshire pudding
Best wishes
I did expect IKEA to be a lot better
Is the roast dinner you sampled in all IKEA stores uk wide or just selected ones?
Fishy because been in same deep fat fryer as the fish.
I did wonder about the taste considering it said it was pork
Definitely prefer the look of the IKEA one probably because you paid the extra for the pigs in blanket and it had roast potatoes on it too the wetherspoons one looked not very appetising. Great upload.
The IKEA one did look great
After 12 seconds viewing I'll say ikea. Wethos food is grim nowadays so no real competition
Does Ikeas dinner come pre made
Surprised given the real not processed turkey at IKEA but you mark what you eat! :)
Ikea looks more like a Christmas dinner. Weatherspoons looks like a plate of slop. Roast dinner means roast potatoes, not mashed potato.
it does look more like its thrown from a hieght onto the plate. and NO yp or roasts and normally 3 carrots. not good value at all. rather spend the money on a steak.
It won't be long before 'combo-bite' enters the English dictionary 😊..
We need 'combo-bite' merch!
I need to release some merch lol
i love you mr everyday im eating you are my fav youtube channel
Thanks 😀
Ikea
the IKEA one did look good visually
It called 'STUFFING' as it stuffed inside the turkey, not really to be served in little balls cooked seperatley!
Almost certainly the baby carrots are made from full sized ones in a machine, because people think they are better.
Not so good without sprouts. Ikea meal looked better just needs cranberry sauce. 8/10 xx
I was surprised neither of them had sprouts too
Ive had a few of these from my local wetherspoons and never get any way near that much gravy despite asking for more they say its as it comes
I am hungry now. 😭
Had the spoons Xmas dinner today and thought it was poor😢. Wish id gone for one of the Xmas burgers.
there has been 3 or 4 food reviews on WS christmas dinner all have been bad.
I do not see what you get for what you pay is value. I would simple put that better value and choice would go to Toby. or another carvery place.
NO ROAST POTATOES LMFAO
'Spoons' Turkey processed and usually served on a cold plate. Also zero roast potatoes. I'll pass.
Both looked delicious!
For. Me it would be weatherspoons the IKEA one looked more like a Sunday dinner but where were the sprouts ? Sorry but Christmas dinner needs sprouts
It's Thanksgiving dinner....not Christmas
Wheres the rest of it yorkshire pudding roast potatoes sprouts cauliflower cheese red cabbage honey roasted parsnips thats a poor Christmas dinner wetherspoons
its the poor mans christmas dinner. I can very easy do better for less money..
Neither. Cook your own, serves lots of people and far cheaper per person. Toby Carveries are usually okay though. Thanks xx
I’ll go with IKEA because of the turkey was real, not fake.
I was surprised about the real turkey
Would have to be IKEA for me, just shame about the missing items. I've had 2 Wetherspoons meals since the Xmas menu was launched but went for the brie & garlic mushroom pizza then the big cheese burger while my friend who I was with both times had the Xmas dinner and in both cases I thought I got the better deal :-)
If IKEA had all the items it would have been the better deal for sure
Sprouts… ❤
No roast spuds 😮 I don’t understand this mash with roast!!
Voice of reason!! Only fools have mash on a roast I would suggest
For me, Weatherpoons looked a lot better. IKEA seemed a let down with things missing
Great job IKEA, room for improvement but well done!
Not great looking but weatherspoons takes it for me
Wait for me im on my way to help decide 😂😂❤. I’m a bit mixed on this. IKEA turkey, but wetherspoons was winner, not a sprout in sight 😢. Both stuffing was horrible looking and wetherspoons stuffing ball looked like it had rolled under the cooker. I can’t eat fruit and savoury but hands down its wetherspoons
I haven't watched this video yet... But just going by the thumbnail... My vote goes to Ikea... Let's now see if i'm right. 😉
Even though there were several items missing from the Ikea Christmas Dinner... It still looked more appetizing to me than the Wetherspoons version... Plus it's roughly 50% cheaper than the Wetherspoons version too... I do think though that Ikea should have at least given you those three Pigs in Blankets for free... Rather than charging you for them... As they had several items that were unavailable... It might be worth checking in future to see if they have plentiful supplies of all the items listed on their Ikea Christmas Dinner menu. 👍
ikea
I must say, IKEA looked a lot better and there was more on the plate so this one wins 8.5😅 and a 7.5 for Spoons
Never cold milk to tea until it’s completely brewed, how could you possibly get this wrong!
Did my eyes deceive me, sure it said £15 at wetherspoons, mad prices
I know! I thought it was a lot too
@@everydayimeating3407 like someone else commented, it did look like a Birdseye microwave roast dinner
looks lovely but no carrots or mash
Weatherspoons for me aswell mate looked tastier thanks for another great video mate 🎉🎉
Thanks 😀
IKEA all the way, especially if they had all the items
If they had all the items the result may have been different lol I can't believe 3 of them were sold out
Neither, so far Sainsburys are winning for me lol
I prefer Sainsbury's over these two also
Whiterose
That Weatherspoons dinner looked really rough
lynne gateshead, a watched a few of your episodes and a noticed that a couple of time their was something that they didnt have, especially the christmas dinners had no yorkshires on which is dissapointing , in a supermarket why dont they just put a pre cooked one only takes 8 minutes in the oven it is a supermarket ikea and their was no turnip or sprouts either. lynne
Wetherspoons food has gone down over the last year it used to be good value for money with a good portion but they now seem to be penny pinching prices have gone up and food portions have shrunk, used to use Wetherspoons quite a lot but not anymore.shame come on Tim you are loosing a lot of trade.
IKEA seems cheap. The stuffing in Turkey looked strange. If you re hungry it would be fine. I wonder if this is served after 11.30am? I will check and get there promptly.
The stuffing in turkey is a bit strange for sure
About 15£ for a plate of turkey is not cheap, its closer to expensive even inklusive non alkoholic beverage! From Peter Eriksson Sweden Europe 😊😊😊!
No roasties or yorkshire puds! Spoons doesn't seem very good value, seems like a kershaws micowave meal with a bit more meat
Sorry but the wetherspoons one looks rank especially the gravy.
looks gud but carnt belive they dont give u roasties
IKEA for me, wetherspoons looked like a frozen meal & I agree where were the sprouts 😢😢
The food waste thrown out everyday by Tesco's Costa lot coffee shops etc is more taste and better looking than any slop spoons cares to microwave 😊 but IKEA wins every time
Nice review IKEA looke dry.
I personally think IKEA looked better but I suppose it's all in the taste
The IKEA one did look the part but the taste wasn't as good
Wetherspoons is alright 😊
£1:25 for three pigs in blankets…. What’s not to like😃🇬🇧
I think I prefer wetherspoons
Cause it Christmas they hike the prices 🥴
Spoons looked so much better than ikea
weatherspoons wins hands down, tongue out,,,
The worst yorshire pudding I ever wasted money on was purchased in Jenners. I could have soled my boots with the meat. Perhaps explains why Jenners has gone out of business.
Ikea no contest. Roast instead of mash and real meat, not processed. Plus 5 quid cheaper.
Nah, no sprouts no christmas. Wetherspoons rip off, looks awful.
That is a poor effort from Spoons. IKEA looks OK if not great.
It good that that they did actual Turkey rather than the processed kind
