The defence options here are barely worth while. Backdash is damn near irrelevant with so many characters having buttons that go half screen. Pretty much every character has reflect proof strings as well. Your best bet is to spark or spend a bar or 2 for guard cancelling.
This IA probably my greats gripe in the game. The mechanics are so cat and mouse. There's options for if you jump, you functionally can't and really shouldn't backdash. Can't rush in without assist. And lord knows there are too many bs cross up options. It's the only fighting that punishes you for trying to play neutral. There's no point in spacing since all most fighters down medium is what, HALF SCREEN? Meanwhile most light attacks whiff at barrel stuffing ranges. problem i see is when i do auto combo it is too easy and i feel cheap, but when i decided to learn manual combos it's too hard that once you learn it you just became tournament level good, i dont mind getting good its just that i have no intention of becoming pro or enter tournament i play for fun mainly with a little bit of seriousness from home, that's it, in mortal kombat if you practice a bit immediately you improve but you know you are still not pro but in this game its just so hard that practicing for 4 hours today will not make any difference. you need more time of getting used to. so either you dedicate yourself and treat it like a job or you dont and use auto combos.
I felt the same way with auto combos, and I also dealt with trying to improve and it not matter. I had “good” players help me, studied videos for combos and practiced to no avail. There’s too much of a gap.
@@BeefsquatchGaming yep, if i practice for 30 minutes, even in 15 minutes, i can learn a combo that i want to learn and use it in a fight in mortal kombat 11, but in this game i have been trying to learn for 2 days now and i am getting nowhere and even if i did it in practice i can't do it in real game because there is just no time to think, since its super fast pace game, overall a fun dragon ball game but a bad fighting game.
Let's set up scenario, you practice a nice combo that does a lot of damage for two hours, then you catch your opponent in the combo and they press both of the sticks down, and you're comb is done. How would that feel.
If that happened then I would say "oh well fair play" because if the game had a WELL MADE combo breaker mechanic then that combo breaker would come at the cost of something rather it be meter or health or whatever.
