My grandpa actually knew the guy who got accused of throwing the cocaine out of the plane. The guy didn't actually do it, but he was accused of it lol. I'm gonna check this one out tonight and I'm very curious to see it.

From what I read, the real bear had a heart attack and OD'd, and they found it next to a bag of cocaine. The idea of it going nuts in the park was all fiction.
It was just okay for me. One of those movies where the entire plot is in the short trailer. Everything with the EMTs was awesome though. But I felt going in there was no way this movie could be as good as the idea of it.
I think it will be fun but I'll still have to wait for it to stream. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

As someone who has SNAKES ON A PLANE as his favorite guilty pleasure, this totally worked for me. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you; definitely the biopic of the year so far. Hopefully COCAINE BEAR 2 will do it for you.

Cocaine Bear vs Snakes On A Plane is the crossover event we deserve.
The way I look at is this , it's either antman ( another bloody superhero yarn where it's the same movie in a different helmet ) or it's creed 12 ( another bloody boxing movie where ultimately they both learn something from each other and the main guy can only move forward in life by remembering what was behind him , yawn ) or I can go and see a bear wrecking fools coked out of his nut 😅 it's an easy decision
I'm vibing too much with the trailer to think I'm going to not enjoy this a bunch

I thought it was great, and I can’t imagine most people being unhappy with this. I don’t think it has a tone problem, but I thought the pacing was slow at times. I thought the script was good, the acting was great, and it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. My audience loved all the comedy, and the gore wasn’t crazy. I’d recommend it.

I hated this movie. So disappointing. This should have been one of the funniest movies ever made, but the bits just didn't land for me. It was on my top ten of most anticipated and the comedy just fell flat. Thank God it was only 90 minutes.

I think the comedy and gore works absolutely fine for me..... Really enjoyed it so much but what i didn't bought into is the connection between Syd and his son Eddie...
Totally respect you not enjoying this flick. I approach it like the Jackass movies; liking or not liking doesn't determine quality. It's about someone's taste. There are a tons of things that are great that aren't to my taste. Realizing that and delivering a solid review the way you did is commendable. Thank you. I'll be seeing this movie soon and I'll give my opinion.

When i first heard about this I thought it was a straight to streaming movie, I couldn’t believe it when it got a theatrical release. It’s a fun movie but it’s not amazing.
It sounds a little bit like the Foo Fighters movie that came out last year, a few gory scenes in it.
Whats crazy about this movie is that you find yourself laughing at scenes where the bear is brutally killing people like in that chase scene where it goes after the ambulance

I get you Kristian. I wanted to love this movie. I went in so BUZZED for it, but to me it just didn’t work. I found the humour weak for the most part and the characters that the screen writers and Banks decided would be the ones to be torturously ripped apart by this bear I thought was very unpleasant to watch. I wouldn’t watch this again.
in the genre of over-the-top horror comedy, I liked tucker and dale vs evil. is it that kind of humour?

I actually really really enjoyed this movie, like a fun hilarious and REALLY gory movie, really appreciated it’s humour, Definetly recommend it’s a perfect popcorn movie, like violent night or a way better Piranha or BulletTrain. Not life changing cinema but a perfect movie to watch on a lazy afternoon or date night

Your are correct it is getting mixed reactions. IDK I just can't see myself paying 20 bucks to see cocaine bear movie. And yes it is sad. A bear is a living thing and Pain & Gain is a great example b/c it was kind of sad story handled like a comedy. WTF. Cocaine Bear, streaming bear, not cinema bear.
So I liked it but even at just 95 minutes it simultaneously felt too long and like I didn't get enough of the bear. I liked what I saw, but it could have benefited from one less storyline and a fuller commitment to a single tone. I totally get what you mean by consistency and the gruesomeness not fitting with the comedy. I give it a fresh rating for sure but I don't think I'll be buying this one.
I can't believe people are excited for this movie. Especially when there's a TikToker in the movie.
It wasn't the Americans reunion I wanted. Staff at the cinema I went to stopped me and asked me what I thought and I said It wasn't that good the Jokes didn't land and they all just nodded their heads. I guess I thought I would be laughing more .

I gotta be honest but to me, it was off putting to see Ray and His character at the end. That didn't work for me.

I'm sorry the movie didn't work for you, but I think I'll end up liking it more than you did. Tonal shifts don't really bother me and it looks completely bonkers and I usually love bonkers movies.

Just saw. 4/10. Ambulance scene was the highlight. Otherwise, it was a slog with very few funny scenes and no consistent tone.
Elizabeth Banks is not a good director.
I will be honest, really didn't like a lot of the directing choices in this film.
I think the script was the biggest failure.
