I LOVE IT THANKS +CoasterFan2105 I see my favorite locomotives in there ha ha!!!! :) Also by the way i got some info. a few days ago and Metrolink F59PHI locomotives 885, 886, and my personal favorite 887 are sadly retired or so I assume.....:( so....yeah
4:40 The B line is the Hyundai Rotem Locomotive and Coaches, while, 4:18 The A Line is all the other locomotives with the Bombardier Coaches, and Locomotive.
It's funny because my regional transportation company is called Metrolinx. They are owned by the provincial government and built mass transit in all of the major cities. They also operate commuter trains and double decker commuter buses. Right now they are building an LRT system in my city.
Those old school p2 horns will be missed, compared to the dying goose horns on the new metrolink engines and cab cars, these p2s sound as good as an s3l when compared to the new metrolink horns.
Some of them were converted into coaches and are still used. All the clips of them leading are pert of the "historical look back" in the video that runs roughly from 8:00 to 15:00
Comet I. The Comet I was the first generation of the series of passenger cars known as the Comet series commonly used in New Jersey. This one was leased from a commuter railroad in and around Salt Lake City, Utah known as FrontRunner and is currently in use there. This one was originally built at some point between 1970 and 1973 for the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) for use on the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad's diesel commuter trains, was transferred to New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit, or simply NJT) in 1983 when all NJDOT commuter operations were transferred to NJ Transit as well, was retired by NJ Transit and sold to FrontRunner in 2005, was leased to Metrolink between 2008 and 2010 to substitute for the Rotem cars used today, and was returned to FrontRunner in 2010.
Hi Mike: Looks like you have a new YT Logo. Looks great for the new circle. Cool rail-fanning on the Metrolink line. • Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
I mean there cool trains and all I've ridden on a couple of Metrolink trains but come on America we should have High speed railways across America by now, it's already going to be 2020 and other county's have had them for over a decade at this point.
7:22 , 15:37 & 17:41-17:53 Close enough for accurate carriage position 7:55 , 8:39 , 9:00-9:13 , 9:34 , 10:04-10:12 , 12:02-12:12 , 12:59 , 14:23 , Classic but Accurate 11:23 & 15:20 Accurate but not Close Enough for carriage position 12:22 Alright! Now that’s what I’m talking about (although the Rear Locomotive should be the same as the Front) 18:30 Now that’s what it should look like (removing the First Locomotive)
Public Transportation doesn't have a great reputation. However, I find the Metrolink easy and convenient to use. It beats fighting traffic on the 91, 15, or 215. While they are driving, I'm napping, reading, or playing cards with the family.
Are Amtrak ticket good on metrolink trains ? because some Amtrak trains accept metrolink tickets. Also a few Amtrak surfliner trains will stop at stations that are metrolink trains only during rush hour.
If you have an Amtrak or Metrolink monthly, they can be accepted on either railroad. If it’s a Metrolink single use, 7 day; or Amtrak single use or 10 trip, then you can only use those tickets for the respective railroads. An exception is that of Amtrak trains 759 and 768 (north of LA on weekdays), which I believe any Metrolink tickets are accepted.
Wow cool 1M views Yay
Happy 25th Anniversary Metrolink
Those trains just sound so beautiful when they move down the track! Great video Mike!

Metrolink #872 has a sick horn, better than the ones the others have!
That's quite a collection of F59s in action. One more year and they will be gone and replaced by the F125s. Also great footage of the old cab cars
I still see them parked in California. Idk if they operate but I have seen one run a route a while back
The metrolink is my favorite train!
You are the world's best railfan ever!
Wow its been out since the 80s. Pretty impressive for a commuter train.

I remember when I saw my first and only Metrolink train back in 2008 when my family went to Los Angeles for a vacation.

Those horns on the Metrolink engines have always sounded very odd. Do you know perhaps what type of horn Metrolink engines carry?
CentralOhioTrains Nathan P2
And as for the Rotems and F125’s, they use K2’s.
Thanks! What bells do the P2's consist of?
CentralOhioTrains P2’s are the horns. As for the bells, they either have a M-Bell or E-Bell. The newer locos have E-Bells.
