I agree the Kaffe fabrics are beautiful, but it is the arrangement of the colors and patterns you created that make the quilt so stunning! If I had a quilt like that on my bed, I would have to run into the bedroom throughout the day just to look at it.
Hi Kate your quilt is beautiful! It reminds me of all the colors in the garden and the sky. I love how your mind thinks about designing. Very inspirational indeed!
I am few years late in viewing your videos but I love Kaffe Fassett fabrics. I like to make a Trip around quilt too but I don't know where to start. I got loads of batiks that I collected since last year, maybe I should use them.
Beautiful. You are amazing! I'm 66 and retired. When I worked I had all these creative ideas for "when I'm retired" . Now I am and absolutely loving it. I want to do it all. I enjoy your true love of life and all it offers. It's easy to get depressed with the world but your attitude is contagious and I'm enjoying my projects even more! Thank you, Kate. I, too, have a brown tabbie like Norma. His name is Murphy.
Beautiful quilt! I absolutely love it. I have to add to your comment though...world politics are very depressing right now. I think it’s called a global depression. That is why I love your channel, Kate. It’s a breath of fresh air, and it takes me back to a simpler and happier time. Thank you.
I’m loving this trip around the world from my very comfy tapestry couch. I’m overwhelmed by your talent and your joyful heart. And I’m in awe of Kaffe and Brandon and Philip and their wild and wonderful design minds.😻
Dear Norma, such a big help! My current cat hasn't got a big purr box like Norma, but she does like to help with the quilting. The fabric is absolutely gorgeous!!!! I am happy that you were so happy with your 'work'. What a lucky customer to know that so much love went into her quilt!
This is absolutely beautiful. I could look at it for hours. That is one of the joys of a beautiful quilt on a bed...the restful wandering of the eye over the squares. The colors are so soothing to me.
Just love your infectuous joy for life. When you talk about the colors... I feel the same. Your client is going to love this. Somewhere you have to put a heart, like you did on the pillow, and sign it. Love watching you do this. Plus... I'm learning a lot.
Gorgeous! I know the feeling of going on until you're too tired. I have it with crochet. I keep going until my eyes strart to fall closed. When I look at you behind that machine I have no idea how you keep it straight. Knowing how things are going. I think I would go crazy if I had to do something like that. But you have a trained eye after all those years making quilts, that's for sure. And your assistant Norma always on your side. 😂 I love watching you work on creating something beautiful. xxxx💕💕
I have come back to the videos for the Trip Around the World commissioned quilt more than once. The Kaffe Fassett fabrics are so beautiful and Kate's wonderful handling of them for this quilt is just perfect.
Hello Kate, Leona Marker here, from portland, Texas..USA...I have been watching your posts and relish each and every one...love your enthusiasm, creativity and honesty...God bless you...
I do so enjoy you and Anna on you tube, I am a quilter and saw your around the world quilt . Absolutely beautiful Kate. I listen to you almost everyday. Just listening to youkeeps me motivated. Thank you Kate!🙂
Ur genius is really inspiring to me ❤ I myself did a dye job on fringy place Matt's, let sit overnight in plastic bag. I saw ur denim jacket video. So that's made me think of a light pullover jacketi made from them I'll leave the seams with fringe out. I can only maybe baste it. When I got the 10 place Matt's out of dryer I was excited to say the least so now I will try to do a layout on the floor. ❤L
My favorite part of quilting is choosing fabrics, colors and creating patterns and layout so this is a treat to see. I always learn something new watching the process of other quilters. The actual hand quilting is a daunting task for me and while I usually work on my own, I can appreciate Amish women qathering together for that task. Who would have thought such a cacaphony of colors evolve into such a great pattern. I love, love how this design turned out!
I love this top piece to your trip around the world. Such beautiful colors that express LOVE and JOY to me. This is a true treasure. The recipient is a very lucky person to have such a beautiful friend as you.
I used to use a peep hole (that they have in door's) to make sure I have the colour placing correct. But I'm looking forward to trying your greyscale method. I love your tutorials and your passion for everything quilting. Thank you so much.
Kate - it is so wonderful that you have such a passion for creating !! Just IMAGINE how much better the world would be if everyone or at least the greater majority - could/would have such positive passion : ) Sincerely Your Friend Lynne B
That is outstanding quilt Kate ho my i never reach that far in sewing i can not do hand sewing my fingers have arthritis in them but i do enjoy watching your videos and see the star Norma love it thanks for showing us
Oooh, just watched this. I am a quilter and I use kaffe fassett fabrics most of the time, I love his fabrics so much I could eat them. I have a local quilt shop which specialises in his fabrics and he used to make regular visits to New Zealand to visit the shop. I met him once and loved him to bits, what a gorgeous man. I absolutely love your quilts and I hope you show your hand quilting as I hand quilt all my quilts. I use the Japanese sashiko stitching which is lovely and big and their threads are amazing. I would like to purchase some of the kaffe fassett threads but they are really expensive so I just look at them and drool. Thank you for your gorgeous videos.
This is such a lovely quilt and thank you for all the good instruction. Your election was happening while you were making this quilt a time ago. Our election is next Tuesday which I am very anxious about and needing something to distract me during the days until we know who our next President will be and if there will be a smooth transition. Therefore, I have been hoarding my Kaffe F. Jelly rolls (reds, yellows, greens and blues) and you have inspired me to make this quilt with those jelly rolls. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
my daughter introduced me to you a couple of years ago. I enjoy just stopping in and checking to see what is going on in your world. I am working on a quilt Arounds the World alsok this is December 2022 and know this will take me a while but it is winter now so I have lots time to sew.Your quilt is beautiful!
I appreciate your apolitical stance. The Last Homely House is my reprieve from the nonsense that is going on in my government and the embarrassment I feel regarding our current stance on the world stage. I come here daily to lower my blood pressure and restore my creative spirit. I live in central Pennsylania. I am a quilter and also love gardening. Thanks you Kate.
🥰💕Kate what a celebration of color! Imagine that quilt top in front of your window! Trip Around The World 🌎 so inspiring to gather fabric from all your travels & put them into my next “ quilt as you go” BRILLIANT!! You always inspire me. Have to try this pattern. Thanks 🥰💕🧶🧵👍👍
Glad I'm not the only one that keeps doing just one more until it's really late. I'm always doing that with crocheting (...just 1 more row...) & in a blink it's 3 or 4 in the morning & I haven't even been to bed yet!
I appreciate your sense of humor! “. Snappy title, eh?” 😂😂😂😂😂. Beautiful job. I’m anxious to see how you hand quilt it. I’m a hand quilter too. Glynny from upstate NY
This is stunning! I’ve always wanted to make a quilt but raising 6 children picking and pulling at my projects just left me without the guts to do it! 😂 I guess they are my quilt!❤️ love watching you and thank you for sharing bits and pieces of your beautiful life.❤️
I just watched this video on my Smart TV. There is no place to subscribe, but its on my iPad and I did subscribe. Loved loved the Kaffe Fassett trip around the world. You are a down-to-earth quilter. Keep the videos coming
Hello there Kate, I absolutely love your quilts and your tutorials. Trust the British to be so refined. I'm from Australia and hate admitting to being one, an Australian!!! I've always wanted to move to the U.K. for as long as I can remember. I guess your going to tell me it's not all that great and it rains all the time, but I suppose the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Keep up with the tutorials and always make new ones. You know I'll always tune in. Give Norma a big cuddle for me. Jan
Sweet! I got wild and bought a purple/orange print. I have been adding purple/blue/greens and reds/oranges/golds until I have a variety. This would be a lovely use. Thank you. Mine are all in autumn tones, not so vivid as Kaffe Fasset! I must be revolting, since my next quilt is likely to be shades of brown.
Remember about what I said about being Giddy? That is how you sound! I think it's so wonderful to hear and see your excitement about this quilt. It is beautiful! And I think it's exceeded your expectations! Can't hardly wait for the next installment. The colors and the way they play off each other so well remind me of your Liberty fabrics. Just beautiful!
Wow, this quilt is going to be absolutely stunning Kate! The design and the colours are just fabulous!!! I can't wait to see the finished piece with all the quilting done xx
I think this is my favorite quilt of yours (although honestly they're all stunning). I just love the reds & oranges together with the cool blues balancing it out. It's going to be gorgeous.
I just want to say thank you for the lapel mike. I've been catching up on old videos and can't hear you on them so it's great to hear you now. I'm making my friends check out your channel.
I love Norma (as she travels around the world with you)! Love your method. You're such fun--and politics in America (EU) in 2019 was grizzly, so I wholly comprehend your sentiment there. Hi Kate. Love watching your creations. This is like a big tease!😄. Can’t wait to see your hand quilting as this is something I have not tried as yet. Thank you.🌈
Hello Kate, I just Love those beautiful colour palette and the green for the border will look lovely ... Thank You for sharing, you inspire me so much I can't wait to start my own trip around the world quilt xxx
Absolutely beautiful. I just love me some Kaffe Fassett prints. I have 2 layer cakes in last years prints to make his Rosy quilt. All the colors go together so brilliantly. The recipient of this quilt is a very lucky lady. Can't wait to see how you quilt it. I am not a all over quilter. I like a little more space between the quilting. I want to wrap up in a quilt on a cold day with a cup of tea and a good book or movie.
Hello Kate, and Norma. Love how she 😺popped in to supervise, 😉. This is coming along so beautifully and your true love and enthusiasm for what you do comes across the screen so honestly. I too love the green border. I must admit i would be totally befuddled trying to keep all those pieces straight. You are a marvel, 😁. I see i am not the only one who just keeps going til i am falling asleep at the machine. Lol. Appreciate your channel and you so much.
Just subscribed and I am completely loving watching your videos. You and your kitty are amazing as is your work. I look forward to watching all your videos... especially seeing this gorgeous quilt finished.
Hello Kate. I’ve been researching quilting as I find what you do just fascinating. The bundles of 6 and the outcome are so pretty. Another great technique. So many to choose from so making my first quilt is going to be interesting. But thank you for showing this technique as it is my new favourite. 💕
Stunning quilt Kate, beautiful choice of fabrics. I love the way you teach too, you're a natural. Thanks for sharing another fabulous video. From your new TH-cam friend in Birmingham, big hugs xx
Excellent job of matching seams, Ma'am!!! I can see why you love it so much!! Now you HAVE to make one for yourself!!!! I haven't started my red and green one yet--been reorganizing for several weeks. Reorganizing is now almost finished, and will get back to sewing probably tomorrow.... Thanks for putting the Trip Around the World" quilt idea in my head! Itt will be the perfect thing!!!!
This is a beautiful quilt. Such risk, intense colours, and I love the play of light and shade. I just recently found your channel. Watching your films about quilting, and cooking, and life, is such a pleasure. I agree 100% about margarine (nasty stuff). And about politics just now. Go well. xx
It’s absolutely stunning Kate. All those beautiful colours. You really do put your heart and soul into your quilting. Thank you for sharing the process. 🌺
This is such a beautiful quilt top. I haven’t made one of these yet but I’m thinking about it. I like your choice of Kaffe Fassett fabrics. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Stunning color combo! If you think politics are troublesome in the UK, they are incredibly frightening in the US with the racism in the White House! But, on a positive note, this quilt is going to be amazing and I received all of your books last week and read them straight away. So touching and fun! TFS the inspiration, Kate!
It is beautiful Kate. Such a lovely colour combination. Very inspiring, but I promised myself to finish the things I started.🙃 I'll just have to get on with that. Thank you Kate.
I have to watch this over and over as it makes me so happy with these vibrant colors
Me too. So much so that I bought the same jelly rolls. Going to try my hand at this gorgeous Trip Around The World quilt. 😊
It is so beautiful. So fabulous that you’re getting joy from this. Sewing is never work. Always great joy.

Such a beautiful quilt for such a rough time, 2 years ago. I see how you really like it. So cheerful.☺️
Glad I'm not the only one that keeps doing just one more until it's really late. I'm always doing that with crocheting (...just 1 more row...) & in a blink it's 3 or 4 in the morning & I haven't even been to bed yet!

This quilt is beautiful! What a lot of work

I just want to say thank you for the lapel mike. I've been catching up on old videos and can't hear you on them so it's great to hear you now.
Also I'm trying out English paper piecing, thanks to you, or perhaps all your doing, young Kate! Upcyling items I was not wearing. No budget for buying fabric. Yes, I'm nearly 20 years older than you, so you are young Kate! And a wonderful addition to my TH-cam repertoire. I'm making my friends check out your channel.
Hi Kate love the colours in your quilt beautiful 😍
It’s a lovely colourful quilt. Love listening to you and how you manage to loose yourself in your craft
I love Norma (as she travels around the world with you)!
Love your method. You're such fun--and politics in America (EU) in 2019 was grizzly, so I wholly comprehend your sentiment there.
Going to keep watching you because it's obvious you're a cerebral and instinctive quilt maker.
(As I'm watching, enjoying your commentary, it's evident that your year's quilting has added "instinct" to your process.)
Love, Love, Love this quilt. The colors are Fabulous. I really love your channel and I'm enjoying watching it from the beginning. Sarah/Canada.
These colors are the best.....designs lusciously bright.

Go well. xx
Such a beautiful quilt!!! Lovely work Kate!
It’s absolutely stunning Kate. All those beautiful colours. You really do put your heart and soul into your quilting. Thank you for sharing the process. 🌺
I never get tired of watching the creative process. How exciting, Kate!

Kate, this is coming out beautifully! I enjoy your videos they inspire me to keep creating. Thanks for the encouragement.
This is such a beautiful quilt top. I haven’t made one of these yet but I’m thinking about it. I like your choice of Kaffe Fassett fabrics. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
That fabric is fabulous. I’m really enjoying watching you make this beautiful quilt. Thanks.
