My very 1st quilt ever was your Trip Around the World from one of your Quilt in a Day books. I was able to find every single fabric you used. I hand tied it sitting on the floor.
    Many mabt years ago.
I made a Christmas Tree skirt in the same way, using the diamind shaped log cabin 'squares'. Still use it to this day. It was made in 1999.

I made this quilt. I found it lined up better if I took out the switches rather than cut them off as shown in the video. So easy to sew together.

How is that possible? After the first color is cut off, you now FOLD the next piece in half then cut it. In other words, there are no stitches to take out because you are actually working on a fold in the middle of the little square!

The best bit was how you tossed that torn edge over your shoulder! Fabulous! Thank you for this method

Hi, I made a baby quilt using this method and it turned out great. I now want to make a lap size. I know you need half a yard of 9 fabrics, but do you cut each strip in half before sewing the tube like you do for the baby quilt?

I guess you probably would prewash all fabric before you cut when mixing flannel and cottons?

I have watched several videos to make around the world quilts, I like your teaching and technique best. question you cut 4" fabric strips and after sewing tubes cut 2.5" wouldn't that make the squares off? I'm confused. Everyone makes crib size, I'm a visual learner need to see queen size made. I wish you could do more videos for queen and king size, as beginner hard to understand when you you say enlarge for bigger size results. Plus I'll be making it in quilt as I go due to very small space. I can't wait to make one. I'll be watching all your videos, thanks for the great way you teach.

Hi, I have several of your questions too. This is a rather old video, so I wonder if you will get a response. I bought a kit (French General fabric) for a TATW quilt, but didn't like the pattern included. I think the thing that is interesting about the rectangular shapes of the patches, rather than squares, is that it makes a rectangular rather than square quilt. My hubby is TALL and I need a long rather than wide quilt. Also, she offsets the center (like brickwork) so I think that also works for the rectangles. The thing I am confused about is cutting off the seam allowance for the first cut. I keep saying "trust the process!" I am going to use some less than fabulous fabric and plan a wall hanging with this technique to give it a try. Good luck!
