Watch out when you remove that part. There is a sensor on it and if you pull the wires too hard it will be bad. I know this because the sensor on mine was acting up and I watched a few videos on it and fixed it. The sensor is to detect moisture in the load.
You definitely do, the inside of the dryer can build up lint, that mixes with the wet clothes, especially if the washer isnt rinsing hard enough. So your clothes come out with brown stains, of lint and dirt that dried and hardened on, then gets wet and moldy over and over again. Disinfect the dryer. This is why using public dryers and dorm dryers leave you with new stains.
@@erickacole3818cleaning with soap and water cleans dirt and debris and removes germs, disinfecting kills germs. That dryer gets hot enough that it doesn’t need disinfecting. It's important to wash the trap mesh on a regular basis if you're using fabric softener or dryer sheets because enough can build up on the mesh that it interferes with the airflow.

It is called a condensation dryer. It cools the air and all the water collects in a compartment you can take out to empty, or you can directly connect it to a water outlet. And it than just blows dry slightly warm air into the home.
@@jozina1 A lot of dryers in the US use natural gas as a heat source, therefore making the dryer exhaust full of toxic carbon monoxide which is why we vent it outside.

I used to hang all my clothes out to dry until I bought this new home. Now I live on a hilltop with dirt roads, very dry climate and almost constant winds so when hung out, the clothes came in filled with sand. It was really funny when I brought the "clean" towels in from the line and could literally see the sand shake out on the floor. Needless to say I washed them again and started using the dryer.
Cleaned out my dryer last night. Instead of vacuuming it out. Grab a datavac "it blows", remove the vent. Blast the hell out of the filter port, and run the dryer on air fluff. Vacuum up all the debre. Mine was as good as new with the addition of a new vent line.

As an appliance repairman I approve. Dryer sheets have wax that clogs the filter. Cleaning with dawn soap once or twice a year is great maintenance. Good video.
I used to work at a laudromat while I was in college. One of my duties was scrubbing the lint screens on all the machines every week. The boss showed me why. He walked to random dryer, pulled out the lint screen and after removing the lint ran water in it. The screen filled with water. If water can't get thru it then air can't either. He explained it's caused by fabric softener coating the screen. It wasn't visable. He also showed me the backs of the dryers and the guts looked like they had a coat of shellac pasting lint to the guts of the dryer. There were also dozens of "lost" dryer sheets in the back of each machine (I had to clean those out too). He said that fabric softener is the worst thing to use in either the washer or dryer and not only are they are completely unnecessary, it causes additional wear/tear on the machines, and reduces their life expectancy, causing additional expense when the machines need to be replaced sooner (cost passed onto the customer). He said the reason people feel the need to use softener is because they use too much detergent and the washer can't rinse all the soap out, which makes the fabric crunchy. He said it would be more efficient and less costly to use vinegar in the rinse cycle. Vinegar is an acid and soap is a base so the vinegar neutralizes the soap. Vinegar also is a descaler, so it cuts hard water too. I stopped using fabric softener and have used vinegar for nearly 40 years.
My dryer has never looked like that... it is 20 years old, and I remove the lint after every cycle. I never had to remove any scuff marks. It is still like brand new!
