Please note that getting this ending requires all three of the non-Homura-non-Madoka girls to be both contracted and living.
In a sense, this means you must ensure Sayaka and Kyousuke do not get together.

They may run out of grief seeds someday in the future, but atleast now they can live together happily atleast long enough, surviving past Walpurgisnacht's boss fight, instead of dying or turning into a witch before Walpurgisnacht arrives.

Or Madoka, knowing how powerful she is, could think of a wish that won't turn her into a witch no matter what -and not becoming a goddess in the process-, making her immortal along with others. Until Mami snaps...

I fail to see how “they will eventually turn into witches” means this isn’t a happy ending. That’s like saying the main character and their love interest ending up together in a happy world isn’t a happy ending because they will eventually grow old and die. Nothing is permanently happy.

@@msking1000 in fact they do age normally. Yachiyo Nanami and Mifuyu Asuza were magical girls since they were young but as they grew older, mifuyu became weaker even if her gem is still okay whatsoever.

For folks who think they will all die or turn into witches later... If they can beat Walpurgusnacht, then they won't have any problems with weaker witches. The also know how important it is to protect their soul gems, and could just invent a bunch of tactics around it that would make them practically unkillable. They also know how important it is to conserve their magic usage and to keep a positive outlook.
I think knowing these 2 things is one of the key reasons Homura got as far as she did (the other reason being time stop is OP as shit). And given far Homura got by herself alone, I doubt they're going to have any problems when they all support each other both in battle and emotionally.
Actually Homura only got that far because she could do and redo and redo. Unlike Mami and Kyouko, she trained with other experienced Magical girls (Mami and Madoka) and did the same thing for over a hundred timelines. She also had enough grief seeds for herself. That's the only reason she got so powerful.
No matter what they do their personal feelings will turn them to witches...and maybe they won't have enough grief seeds for everyone.
Remember in the anime, in one timeline Sayaka turned into Octavia. And they were all 5 together fighting (not 4 but all 5) and she still turned into a witch (maybe because of her love story)....There's no helping it. It's bound to happen no matter what they do. The more good things that come from the teamwork, well an equal amount of despair will befall them.
ZKArt Lighten up dude. You sound like you enjoy tragedy. It's possible to share grief seeds and with all of them together, they can use less magic per person, meaning less need for grief seeds. Friendship can work against despair. The balancing thing is an observation from Kyouko, it's not a universal rule.

I am sure Gen Urobuchi himself will cringe if he saw this ending lol. It's not canon at all.
Sharing grief seeds is not only necessary when they use magic but when they start to get desperate as well (for any emotional reason)...and being hormone crazed teenage girls puts them at risk. Also grief seeds are the souls of old magical girls....still morbid since they are using them for survival. Plus the whole "firendship is magic' thing does not apply in this harsh real world. Don't forget that Mami died only because she was too happy for finally finding a friend....she died in a very stupid way despite being arguably the most skilled/ experienced of the group. The writers precised that her death only happened because of her involvement with Madoka becuase in some timelines she defeated charlotte when she was alone since she was more focused.
And no, the balance thing is a universal rule..even after Madoka became Madokami, there was still a witch form of herself destroying the universe. the only way she could keep battling it was because of her wish (of riding despair altogether and thus becoming the law of cycle)
I swear I am a happy person haha..even though part of me really enjoys this ending, another part of me thinks it ruins the well written concept.
"harsh real world" is exactly what I'm talking about. Friendship doesn't exist in real life, teenage girls are hormonal and despairing, they're all going to die eventually etc. You sound like a Glass Half Empty kind of guy.

Dude did you watch the anime or read the manga. Think about context and fake idealism in this case.
I am optimistic but here positivity does not apply. I never said friendship does not exist...except that in their case it is not helping...actually here it's more of a hindrance. Mami's death, Homura's endless cycle, it's all due to their friendship.
Also being emotional is what makes them easier targets for corrupting soul gems. I think your level of understanding is lacking especially when it comes to such a masterpiece of a plot.
So at the End madoka is a magical Girl in this timeline, but nobody knows, or not?

The only problem with this happy ending of Madoka Magica is that the final shot shows the evil Kyubey with the girls and Kyubey is secretly plotting something very, very bad.

there is an actual canon ending like this where they beat walpurgisnacht, but in it madoka become became a magical and homura didn’t want her to be one at all so she reset it. the holy quintet together actually can beat walpurgisnacht relatively easily, but homura’s obsession with madoka won’t let her keep all 5 alive to face it

To be honest I just want them to remain friends, sometimes a relationship doesn't need to progress to the next level, I mean you can love someone without being in a relationship with them, because relationships can be complicated and it's not guaranteed to work out, and also sometimes a friendship isn't meant to go beyond a friendship.

i liked the original ending, kyubey turning homura into an experiment, sealing her, homura goes crazy, becomes a demon (not a witch), grabs madoka from heavens, turns her into a mortal once again and then recreates the universe, telling madoka that in a future she will destroy

Even if this were to be the route's true ending, the most likely scenario is that eventually Homura would find out Madoka's prayer was her actually making a contract, forcing her to once again repeat this month.
Instead, I think this route's canon ending is the one in which Homura dies. Something tells me Madoka was unable to allow Homura to move on. So even though she knew Homura didn't want this, I think she contracted, because Homura had to sacrifice both herself and everybody else to get this ending.
I know this might sound something too selfish for her to do. But think about it. She created a timeline in which Magic Girls end up dying after they can no longer handle our world. It's still utilitarianism, simply on a new perspective. And she did ask Homura to rewind time in order to save herself from becoming a Witch. This is why Madoka and Homura are made for each other. Because they're both selfless and selfish at the same time. Neither can live on without finding what they deem the perfect solution, trying to see the path they create on the most positive way possible.

It's a happy end for the Holy Quintet... But still, I prefer the anime's ending. In this ending, Magical Girls are still doomed to become witches and might and will fall into despair. And eventually any of them, Kyoko, Sayaka, Mami or even Homura, can fall into despair and become a witch.

She became the incarnation of Love while Madoka is the incarnation of hope. That was the only way her wish to protect Madoka could be realized. Their wishes are kinda contradictory.
If anything, everyone got a happy ending but her. Mami is no longer alone, Bebe got cheese and Mami to care for her .Kyoko and Sayaka have each other.
Madoka has her family. The only one suffering in this is Homura.
Also despair did not taint her soul gem. Her longing and love for Madoka did.
Also Homura was smarter about her wish. She has the incubators bear the curses of the world instead of Madoka. So they still won't become witches .
Her aim is not to destroy the world. Her little evil line with sayaka was just an act. Did you not see what she tells Madoka at the end. Despite they have different views on rules and laws, her only desire is to see a world in which Madoka can live happily.

What's funny is that Walpurgisnacht would glitch out if you killed it too fast (most likely by timestopping and using all of Homura's charge attacks against it). Depending on the flags set, dialog events trigger when WPN is at certain HP levels. Killing WPN in too big a chunk would cause the game to trigger several events at once, causing the game to hang before a bug fix patch was released.

So homura's time reverse power is limted to 1 month only and its a fact. So if she will return the time again lets say after a month, will it bring her to the hospital or this day where all was peaceful???
So... this means Homura could've saved Madoka without her becoming a god if she tried to save all the other girls, too. Pretty ironic.
Mm. It's like that old question of whether you'd rather have a better world, or happiness for the ones you love. I suppose there were a lot of people hoping that all five girls could have a "happily ever after", and given what has to happen when Madoka makes her final wish this ending is the closest we could come. But there's still that cloud hanging over it, that question of, "will they really be OK in that kind of a world?"
It may not be a perfect ending, but I think it fits in its own way.
This ending isn't really happy though, the only real happy ending is the anime one. In this they will be happy for a while until they all die and turn into witches..

Because Homura Looked up to madoka, she Idolized her and in the end thats what saved madokas life. Homura went back time and time again to save the person she honestly seems to love like a sister for being her friend.

But that's just me. Maybe I didn't understand the whole ending, but in the Rebllion Story, they show that Homura is about to die after fighting so many Wraiths, so a doomed fate still awaits Magical Girls 😭😭😭
JustGleek47 Madoka created a heaven for the Magical girls, they will still die from wraith created by Madoka to combat the entropy, but they wouldn't die from despair and become witches. Madoka removes their soul before they become witches, that's why they would just disappear instead of becoming witches like Sayaka in the ending. The main thing why Mami becomes crazy was because the magical girls become witches, continue to suffer while killing innocent. In this ending, while the girls are currently alive, they would eventually die and become witches. Madoka will have to become a magical girl to save them or being tricked by Kyubey, and the world will be destroyed once that happen.

And sorry to bother you, but, you don't know what exactly Homura did at the end of Rebellion, right? Did she messed up everything? Does her rules and Madoka's rules live in duality? Why would Madoka become an enemy to Homura as she stated?
I'm sorry to bother you with so many questions, but you seem to know EVERYTHING!! Haha :)
She created a giant witch barrier encompassed the entire universe by stealing Madoka's power. She steals the "hope" part that represent Madoka from the God. At the end, when the universe is being reformed, you can see a giant yarn encompassing the entire universe, it's a witch barrier on the universal scale. Inside the barrier, you can see all of Homura's familiars walking around. Basically, it was like at the beginning of the movie, but this time, Homura is in control of everything inside her new witch barrier, Madoka is alive and enjoying her life, just as Sayaka and BeBe were resurrected as a result and they were stuck inside the giant witch barrier instead of returning to heaven. Homura is imprisoned Madoka against her will. She knows that it's only a temporary solution, once Madoka regains her memories, she knows that Madoka would try to restore everything back to normal while Homura will try to keep the giant witch barrier up for as long as possible for Madoka's happiness. They become enemies because Madoka will want to destroy the witch barrier while Homura will want to maintain it. Without Madoka's power, there would be nothing to combat entropy, so Homura is basically dooming the entire universe into a slow death in order to save Madoka.
