Learns that Kyoko's witch's name is Ophelia

Kyoko committed suicide (drowning) to be with Sayaka- the mermaid knight(in one timeline). In this timeline, she goes mad from grief, kind of like Ophelia in Hamlet.

I wish they'd cover moments like this in a spin-off anime series. There's something both tragic and magical when a Magical Girl reaches the breaking point and turns into a witch. I just want to watch them all become witches in a proper animated sequence.

@Jay T AKA Jeremiah Tisdale honestly seeing Ophelia and Canderloro was something I wish happened whether in a spin-off or even in the movie as a montage of Homura going through different timelines all ending with Madoka becoming Gretchen but we could've at least got slight glimpses of the other two witches

Madoka portable is really great because it shows you the characters emotions that weren't seen in the anime.

Well, since the game shows the multiple timelines that Homura went through, this is how things would've turned out if Homura just killed Oktavia instead of letting Kyoko sacrifice herself

really wish that this was what Homulilly's gimmick was along with every time a magical girl almost defeats her the labyrinth goes back in time , causing an entire restart
Maybe it is in a different timeline. It’s a bit fuzzy considering both the Homura tamura manga and magia record had multiple versions of Homura from different timelines, but I believe it’s possible because of the weird nature of time travel itself. If there’s multiple Homuras, they made different choices. Every potential choice you make in a universe has a different outcome, and each outcome has different outcomes as well. It acts as a branching timeline thing, like the TVA or other multiversal systems have portrayed.
Like Octavia in timeline III, where she had a different barrier and slightly different way of attacking, I feel like one witched out Homura had that power when she realized she wanted to stay with Madoka forever. Perhaps she was already having a murky soul gem trying to prevent the others from contracting/dying/convince Madoka to not do it and succeeded, saw Madoka and her witch nature hatched out of that obbesive desire.
One theory for the reason it's a game over is because Homulily has the power to permanently stop time, meaning everyone is helpless as she slowly devours humans one by one.
I wonder if Sayaka always ends up making the same stupid decision solely because no one told her about soul gems and witches.
Madomagi is a huge exercise in miscommunication.
+JKM2468 I know about that timeline, but is it made clear that Sayaka knows she will turn into a witch if she doesn't use grief seeds to purify her soul gem?
That was what killed her in the original series. She kept passing on grief seeds without knowing what happens if your gem goes dark.

Kyouko's laugh at 3:44 and 4:21 is so creepy. Now I wish that she's the one who becomes a witch in the anime/movies instead of Sayaka. Just because of that laugh.

It's okay that you lost against Ophelia, I've heard she's pretty damn strong.
There's no real story to it. It's just a special game over screen if you lose during the Walpurgisnacht battle in Homura's route.

Poor sayaka and mami they were madoka's bffs I love puella magi madoka magica and my favorite characters are madoka and kyoko but she turned into a witch and im sad that sayaka and mami died .but now, the characters I love more now is Homura, Mami, Madoka, Kyoko, and Sayaka

I gotta say, Sayaka's storyline is probably the saddest. In the end, everybody (I mean, Madoka is technically alive) is alive BUT Sayaka, since she was a witch. That has got to be the worst thing ever. I'm so interested in this game, but I wouldn't understand anything. I must learn Japanese! The alternate endings seem really interesting, which is the main reason I want it.

I know the point of this route was to mainly give Kyoko a Witch Form, but seriously, her reasoning doesn't make sense at all..
I prefer a lot more how she was in the Main Timeline of the Anime..

Sure, we know that even when they're not Witches yet, their Witch Counterpart can talk to them as it happened with Candeloro and Mami in The Different Story Manga, but we don't know if it could happen viceversa.
We don't know if the Magical Girl is still conscious inside her Witch Form, and I must say that it doesn't looks like it.
+Lunos Ouroboros Ophelia only shows up in this route if Kyoko's soul gem is corrupted. Otherwise she gets over this incident and the game loads a different scene after Kyoko namedrops the title of the route.
And even in the anime, she still had the faintest sliver of hope that Sayaka could be saved, which was why she was exerting herself to keep Sayaka's body magically fresh.
Remember, Kyubey told her that there was no way he knew that witches could be saved from magical girls, which was what gave Kyoko the idea that there could be a way that Kyubey didn't know of.
The callback to the food chain analogy is a great way to show how Kyoko would fall into despair. Her compassion for Sayaka in the anime showed she was wavering in her survival of the fittest mentality and she was beginning to embrace hope again, but after that hope died, she went back to the survival of the fittest mentality, except this time, she no longer saw herself as fit.

Once a Mahou Shoujo turns into a Witch, there's no turning back as far as we know and they too, so she surrended to a flat possibility of saving her which was obviously kinda impossible, unless you're Godoka ofc.

That's true but you have to remember that by this point, Kyouko has began showing her soft side way more often and remembering her past that she always tried not to think about, since she told her story to Sayaka. And the whole reason she remembered is because she saw her old self in Sayaka and slowly began caring about her. She probably unconsciously believed that if Sayaka could be saved then so could she accept her past and move on. She once believed in stuff like miracles and justice and all. She may have become much colder and put on a tough exterior but she still has feelings and she doesn't believe in dry facts and logic as much as Homura. So finding out that she has indeed been fighting in vain (because of the witch system) and seeing that Sayaka couldn't be saved (which she knew was impossible but had one last glimmer of hope that there may be some good in the world) was like telling her everything she once believed is false. At this point of the timeline she's lost way too many people and her faith in life is pretty much lost. She can't hope for anything anymore. So she despairs. And this is also pretty interesting, because, as far as we know, this is the only condition in which Kyouko can become a witch (she almost became one in TDS and was saved by Mami but this was before Homu started messing with the timelines so we know it she never actually turned into one then) so yeah, she is pretty damn emotionally strong and Homura encountering Ophelia is waaay more rare than say, Oktavia, Gretchen and Candeloro, who appear in every other timeline. You have to begin the route with your sole purpose being to reach Ophelia. When she sacrifices herself in other routes she realises saving Sayaka is impossible but doesn't really have time to think about the food-chain system and still believes Sayaka is somewhere in there so, since she has nothing left, she decides to at least keep her company in their afterlife, since they are both hopeless and alone at this point (yaay similarities). And obviously she can't do that with Oktavia not there lol. I think it's pretty logical and in character if you think of it that way. Sorry for the rant lol

Yes. But this is happening because Kyoko's soul meter is above 400 and fall into despair. If her soul meter was below 350, she would've begrudgingly accepted that witches must be slain and forgave Homura.
