What about Lyft and Uber doing medical ambulatory rides and paying drivers $7 I've been in this industry for well over 20 years and looked at this with an open mind. Being a Lyft and Uber driver they don't have to have GL insurance saving them money. That's why the per-ride pay is so low. The cost is so much to start a NEMT today it's like they making it hard. Modivcare operations are so off-balanced that I don't rely on them anymore!
We don’t see ride share agencies as competition. Anyone that can that can take an Uber or Lyft is not our idea client. As a NEMT business owner its important for the understand your geographical area but also you clientele. Yes ride-share companies are doing NEMT rides but these rides are typically low priority.
You and i are definitely in the same boat as I am and you’re absolutely right. Lyft and Uber has messed it up for a lot of us as well as these new providers. They don’t last but a couple years so I know about Modivcare Sotheast trans and Logisticare’s all of them.
They all have went down in customer service. I remember when they all first started. The turn was a ridiculous they’re not experienced. They overwhelmed. Logistic is just a stressful.
This is good for Cali but in Georgia it is A lot Different

Great video ladies and I agree with just about everything you guys spoke of. I too have been in about 15 years here in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been doing very well in the last 10 years. The last few years has been a challenge and the reason is there is a lot of other providers out here as well as Lyft and Uber also have contract with the same brokers that everyone is under. Sadly of course we talking about mileage rates has changed tremendously since I first started . Here Atlanta Georgia. We were getting paid by mile
I used to get paid 2.85 I’m out and in Georgia almost 3 dollars. A amount is extremely good being that majority of your trip is going to be at least 20 to 30 miles easy and Georgia. The key to transportation in most states is finding the rule area that do not offer lift or Uber that is key.
I got out of running trips out of Metro Atlanta due to the fact that there were so many people doing trips in the in the city so what I decided to do is take those rule country routes that was nothing but cows and horses, but a lot of seniors that need trips to doctors

Medicaid-yes. For the others, you'll need to visit their websites to check their vendorization process and see if they allow independent providers to partner with them.

In my state it takes a year to get “authority” which is basically the permit to register as a Nemt. That and the insurance make me wanna look into other ventures

I thought my state was bad. Omgosh. It takes us about a month once everything in the application is completed properly. So in total it took 2 months. I’m in New Mexico.
