Love the video, but a bit of explanation on gear placements (especially the "H" position) and lubricants used would be great.

The H position means nothing, it is basically a spare gear that acts as a spacer.

Hi I need help what does Yn" mean on a lathe chart? I saw a lathe feedrate chart and at the bottom it had a ( symbol of two triangles and two lines coming out from the top of the triangles and an arrow between them ) and a written Yn" above it. What does it mean?

Did you do anything to your gears to make them an easier fit? I have to use an gear extractor to remove the leadscrew gear, and the AB and CD gear discs are pretty well stuck together. Is it just a matter of doing it enough times to work the pieces or did you lightly file the gear shaft holes?
Great guide btw, really helped since the manual is so so, with regards to how to dismantle and adjust the lathe (TU 2004 V in my case)

I appreciate the lesson, but- my friend- you get confuse about the nuts and wrench to use for. No long experience on the mechanical. Anyway, I agreed with you

Hi Derek, you are right but, there is a safety switch at the cover on this lathe. I'm pressing it with caution when both hands are away at the end to test the gears.

I'd like to ask you one more question. I have been a machinist for 25 years and I also have a degree in electrical engineering. The question is: Is it difficult to get a machinist job with the experience I have?

Hello, how are you. could you tell me what you call an operator around here in the USA? Because here in Brazil a lathe operator is called a mechanical turner. (torneiro mecanico)

I totally agreed with you, this a time consuming process. That's why I'm using taps and dies whenever is possible. I also have an electronic lead screw circuit made from a friend of mine but I still need a stepper motor and the power supply to make it work. Let's hope that will be ready soon.
