The main problem is that the amount of human hours poured into DEI policies for a flight simulator, could be used to fix the many bugs that are still present. Having that many avatars would be a good addition for a future update when the sim is at least playable
I want to thank Steam Customer Service for processing my request to refund my purchase in just a little over an hour after I sent it.. Given the climate and mass of the requests for service at this moment, I was solidly and pleasantly surprised.
General rule of thumb for any new sim or game - DON'T be the first one to rush to buy. I'm waiting until after Thanksgiving at the earliest before installing. In the meantime, I'll enjoy more days with MSFS2020.
Regarding the helipads, they don't just seem to be generic. Don't know how exatctly they did this, but I checked my small hometown's hospital helipad, and it is very accurate.
That’s interesting! Either they made a ton of them for it to inject or somehow builds them based on what it sees on the map. I need to check on more of them.
The game was in alpha a month ago. You don't go from alpha, then beta, then full release in one month - even with smaller programs. As in 2020, out of the gate they're selling an alpha. Now we're the testers and pay for the privilege.
That’s what I do, same for the winch. But it only pulls me 1ft forward and then it idles its throttles. If you have it working can you tell me which airport you had success with?
As for testing i think they did test it and probably found most of this stuff. The thing is in a game this size it probably went to the bottom of the priority list as i's not game breaking.
Where do you think they’re falling short with those? I’ve only tried the R66 and Bell so far. Overall I feel the helicopter experience was slightly better than 2020s defaults.
Thanks! The previous video still applies, I didn’t make any changes, I just fired the app up and it worked as usual. Are you having any issues with it?
I think you are a bit too negative. I flew a few hours and it looks beautiful. The launch and the product are two different things. I also have to get used to new setup stuff, but you are able to iron them out quite quickly. VR is so much more user friendly and still decent on my old system (rtx2080 super and Reverb G2). Being critical is ok, but don’t bite the hand that feeds you ;-) Enjoy!
Well if I’m too positive then I get hear about that : P but I felt I kept it pretty balanced. If you didn’t watch the full 37 mins you can miss my positive remarks. I praised a lot of things. Don’t blame you if you didn’t watch it all, no one has time for that!
I know this is a Microsoft game but I wish they would fix the compatibility for Proton. It will probably be a bit and I was forced to put back Windows. Also I wish we had the option to download all the scenery data if we so choose to. There are a lot of pc users that have plenty of drive space.
Under graphics / Advanced Settings, scroll to the bottom and it has an option for Road vehicles. You can play online with friends, you just have to be on the same server. Go to settings / Online and check the multiplayer box and below that make sure your server matches theirs.
Not sure why the map data shows that area old, i have different cars in my driveway that i didnt own 3 years ago, so some areas may be newer? And my new cover on my boat.
just because 1 area is 10 year old map data, does not imply every part of the map is that old You can turn off the gates in Career Mode Re testing i think the bigger concern was capacity testing as opposed to concentrating on the placement of hands on a wing
I’ll just come back after a few weeks to see if the sim has been improved. I remember the 2020 version having a horrible launch, so I have my hopes that it’ll be fine.
Msfs2024 will never be fixed, if we are talking about bugs, then yes, in month or so it will be fixed, but the cloud thing will never be fixed, if you have a slow wifi, then uhm, uh oh
@@loabicalyeah I remember 2020 had a rough launch too, but with less people ready to commit to buying it. It also had an offline mode. But this cloud experiment is going to be interesting to see how they pull this off. I think many bugs will be fixed in the coming weeks and months. The potential is there. Just keep an eye on the change log.
beyond atc keeps losing connection to the sim, usually during taxi, then when u reconnect it sends you to a different rw, so annoying. There was a launch patch but needs another. I dont think the default atc has changed yet, they said they were going to revamp it later, the voices are different though, an STILL uses atc for pushback !
@@brandonchappell1535 Thanks for the reply, okay but then its perhaps better to wait and see what MSFS does about the ATC (and hopefully the AI voices in general).
The default sounds better, stays with you more. I always prefer VATSIM if you can. But even that, you won’t always have a controller, but they have automated clearances now. I’m not too familiar with good or bad AI ATCs.
I can’t really say they’re better. I mainly fly the Huey in DCS. That model is done very well, it’s unforgiving, totally fluid and vibrates. I don’t get that with these models as much but it is a different chopper. I haven’t tried the Chinook yet.
It makes 0 sense why they are still using old map data. If they are using Bing Maps, Golden 1 Center is there on the actual website. So why in the world are they using old data in the sim??
I teach flying gliders about 12 miles to the east of the first airport that you showed in the glider part antelope valley. I teach for Williams Soaring Center come check us out.
I did a scenery of flightsim.to for William Soaring Center! That place has been on my bucket list for a couple of years now. I was thinking of going up there in December for a flight, if the weather is good.
just like with any big game release the first few weeks are gonna be bad, just look at all MMO launches. Give it a few months and the game will prob be much better, relax and play other games until then
I think only handmade 3d things are old, the map is new, i my small city i live in there is a new bridge, its not 3d on the map but you can see it "painted" in the grond
I bet they send on of the good versions. With special priority on the broken mess of a cloud gaming system. If not he would be like the other millions of clients having a broken game that barely even wants to load anything.

People saying having an avatar doesn't belong in a sim is so stupid. You do have a physical body in real life...
I think it's really cool! Doesn't hurt anything to have options like that.

for aerial tow, press the brakes key a few times and jostle the rudder. it works ish then

While on foot, there needs to be the option to run. Walking is too slow sometimes.
I agree, I tired pressing shift naturally but no run.

Yeah that could be the case, like Vegas has the Sphere I just noticed. But that’s a very popular area so I can see them needing to do that.
The map data has been updated to the latest in my area. I think it was updated but not in all areas.
