There are countless parts where a few thousandth one way or another just doesn't matter. To pay someone to machine it to any real precision is a waist. That's why India, Pakistan, and a few other places are loaded with these small forges. They can make this crusher jaw for probably 1/10th what a western country could. Most machinery you use has parts made in a place just like this. I believe Mahindra tractors come from this part of the world.
You mean Curtis, the guy surrounded with big machine tool "toys" in a large industrial shed pretending that him and his dog do all the work by themselves. (you've obviously never been anywhere near a machine shop if you believe that fantasy)

One one hand, I am amazed at the skills of these workers. But on the other hand, I am surprised they were able to fit those bearings with such crude measuring instruments.
Just because a instrument is crude doesn't mean it can't be accurate. A string and a rock will give you a perfect vertical line. That said anything made in these west Asian forges is not going to be accurate to a half thou.
