Arnel has been amazing but it's time for him to hang it up. I don't think he will be able to finish the tour. He should focus on maintaining what vocals he has left. It's time for Neal to find another front man that can sing those songs. This is the same thing that happened to Steve. Journey touring schedule is rough on pure singers like Arnel and Steve.
His accent is getting thicker as his voice deteriorates. Very rough to listen to. Steve Augeri also faced similar voice challenges although it happened more rapidly than Arnel's. The Journey songs are great but they are also voice killers.
I DONT THINK HE CAN FINISH THIS YEARS TOUR 2024 , ITS A VERY TIGHT SCHEDULE ALMOST EVERY OTHER NIGHT WITH THIS KIND OF JOURNEYS SONG WHICH IS HIGH NOTES .ITS VERY CLEAR HIS VOICE IS FATIGUE AND STRETCH TO ITS LIMIT. POOR ARNEL THIS JOURNEY COUNTERPARTS DOESNT CARE ABOUT HIS PHYSICAL BEING .THEYRE ALL AFTER THE PROCEEDS AND MONEY THEY CAN GET
I heard him last week in Birmingham AL and he sounded great. Some of the videos I've heard online don't sound as good. I think we're also hearing people singing off key often times as Journey is a band that people sing along with loudly so you hear a mix of him & crowd - but yes, these songs are so hard on a voice - and he does this while having huge energy on stage. It's crazy!

It started to change many years ago. Bon Jovi is several years older than Arnel.
Neil is the only original member left but they still sound great. Worth the price of admission if you love hearing Journey songs.
I hear Journey songs from the comfort of my home. I own plenty of vinyls. Enjoy spending money for a tribute band.
