As someone who just got started with the Young Eagles program, this guys story of how he's the only one in his family that is involved with aviation inspires and motivates me. Coming from a family where I'm the only one interested in aviation, I thought I had no chance of ever becoming a pilot but seeing how this guy did it, it motivates me to put in the effort. It was great seeing Josh at Eaa and hopefully I'll see you guys there again next year!
Zach Godkin Cool! I am 13 and the only person in my family that is as passionate about aviation as most pilots. I have been doing my ground school for a while and am going to start flight training soon. Good to hear that there are other young people flying. Keep at it!
Zach & Hj, awesome, hard work pays. My father was the start of aviation in our family, today we have 5 commercial pilots. Hope to fly with ya some day.
I was at Oshkosh on Thursday with my family. It was great to meet you Alex and Josh, my son was a little awestruck by the encounter lol. We went down to the ultralight field in the evening and that same Air-Cam was flying the pattern, what an incredible plane. -Dan
I got a ride in the one that passes by at 2:44 on Saturday just before I left. still one of the high points of my week was meeting bixler. the other guys were out and I never found them.
I notice both props turn the same way, so the left engine would be the critical one. i wonder how much vibration is caused by the props being in the pressure differential of the wing.. anyway, looks like you had a great flight, and fun little airplane.
The timing of this video was perfect, had an air cam fly over us on Lake Martin this past Friday and wasn't sure what it was. Keep up the great videos!
I’ve got a few hundred hours in AirCam‘s - awesome airplane! Safety factor of redundant power makes flying low and slow over trees and water, just fun, no fear - no guilt. It’s pretty easy to get a ride in one. The factory is at Seabring airport in Florida. Pretty much anyone that owns one around the world is a good option for a ride too. It’s experimental, so be ready to build. Builder assistance programs are available also.
Went to OSHKOSH on Friday, it was so great to meet Alex and Josh. What a real bunch of down to earth guys. Picture and great intriguing conversation was had for over an hour!!! Good luck at Red bull folks
I got to take a short hop over Paso Robles airport in an AirCam a few years ago. Awesome little airplanes! I don't know why there isn't an RC version. They're made for cameras.
Wow you have to build one of these Flitest ! we want to enjoy this amazing machine too in miniature and be able to fly these from our back yards, this aircraft has got everything going for it including the model version.
I wonder hiw the coversation with Alex and Dave went? "You want to fly in an overrated flying lawn chair through the busiest sky in the world?" Alex- "teah sure."
I've only been up in a small plane once, and the noise put me off. I'd bet it's not as bad with the engines up and behind you like that - and of course the headphones help too I'm sure. Real nice vlog, Alex - thanks!
This thing is just a giant model airplane! It's just awesome how quick you can get this flying garden chair up in the air... ^_^ It's amazing that Lockwood introduced the Aircam in 1995 and still produces the kit today! :-)
Am I the only one that saw the "Adult Weekly" wristband on the pilot's wrist at the beginning and thought of something probably completely different from that it's actually for?
I was one of the kids in camouflage and an orange vest in 2013 and 2015. Best way to experience air venture is by being a marshaller. It's just sooooo awesome. XD
I have been interested in the Air Cam for years, just not a possibility where I live (Hawaii). May consider after I retire, but as was mentioned below Josh Bixler should consider designing a foam board version for FT. Interesting thing about Air Cam is the single engine performance and it's near center-line thrust. There wouldn't be the issue with Vmc, but don't recall, given the weight of the Air Cam if it qualifies as a Sport Pilot and if multi-engine rating is needed.
most of em are seen driving cars and quads, so i guess a drivers license.. for flying rc planes and multirotors, none because no lisence is required.. and for a paramotor, i cant be sure.. in norway you have to be pp3 i think.. 10+ hours logged flying.. dont think you can skip paragliding lessons when getting a paramotor either
That Cathedral Guy you can definitely do it with that gear and budget. UAV Futures has a $100 quad video, that doesn't include the radio and goggles, but you've already got those.
For some reason i can't explain that thing made me feel like there was nothing really around you at all. It seemed worse than a fan strapped to your back.
I'm 13 and got to fly a Cessna 182 with a airplane camp That goes tward my pilots licenence and we did simulators then we flew in real life and my pilot let me take off and fly around and he helped me land

Zach Godkin that was me!
LOL "Don't lose your camera because we will make fun of you for a long time. Don't be THAT guy" That's hilarious.
Right?! Got eem! ;)
Ahaha! One of my favorite fixed wing planes... SO glad you got this opportunity Alex! FUN video :D

DNeuens when I found the tent they were not there :(
DNeuens awesome meeting you guys! Such an amazing event!

+I can see my car in the "dog walking area"/no man's land

Brilliant editing with the vlog guys lovely and smooth also like the general aviation best vlog in a while well done!
Awesome vid. I got the privilege to fly in N912LA, one of the first AirCams, a couple years ago. Amazing aircraft.
Indeed! Awesome looking craft as well as an amazing experience... from what I was told ;)
The timing of this video was perfect, had an air cam fly over us on Lake Martin this past Friday and wasn't sure what it was. Keep up the great videos!

Are all Air-Cams two seaters with two engines, or a single seater with one engine available too ?
Thanks for sharing this experience with us Alex. It's been a while since I was in a small aircraft myself, I almost forgot how amazing it is!
Went to OSHKOSH on Friday, it was so great to meet Alex and Josh. What a real bunch of down to earth guys. Picture and great intriguing conversation was had for over an hour!!! Good luck at Red bull folks
How do they manage to get the cg into the right spot with those 2 engines behind the wing?
Fantastic aeroplane - thanks so much for sharing Alex x
I've had the pleasure of flying in one of these on a couple different occasions. Absolutely amazing. Wonderful, comfortable ride.
Air cams are amazing. I did some low flying over the river in an air am this summer. It was awesome
That sounds like a blast! ;)
Flitetest is the new Casey neistat of vlogs
How rude, you take that back.
Neistat is a total douchebag - don't even include him in the same sentence as FT!
Great video, cool content. Keep them coming, I miss the rapid output. Quit goofing off! LOL
The left rotax has a alternator???

Just subscribed and turned notifications on!
I can see my camper
You guys rock
I loved the Aircam i was at my camper watching this aircam go around an was like wish it was me
Always wanted to go to Oshkosh! When my son gets a little older we will take a trip out there! Thanks for taking us for the ride!
What day was this
Air Cam Excellent adventure, Thank you, Jeff
See if he'll let you take it to FlugTag. :-). Seriously, this was a great episode. I would SO have gone up in the AirCam.
Wow you have to build one of these Flitest ! we want to enjoy this amazing machine too in miniature and be able to fly these from our back yards, this aircraft has got everything going for it including the model version.
I am building one right now, check out my build sequence.
Foam version?!?!?! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!
Andrews FPV why dont you make one yourslef
Nothing says you couldn't try yourself too! Give it a go.
The background music, Millie Vanilli! Nailed it!
I wonder hiw the coversation with Alex and Dave went? "You want to fly in an overrated flying lawn chair through the busiest sky in the world?" Alex- "teah sure."
Haha! ;)
I saw you guys take off and land!!!! And the one in front of you!
Spectacular video! Alex: how did it feel to sit in a full-sized chase copter??? ;)
Watching it I can't stop smiling!!! Awesome!
Alex you are one lucky dog. Man that is a slick air machine.
I love how open it is. And it seems to have plenty of power for such a light frame.
I've only been up in a small plane once, and the noise put me off. I'd bet it's not as bad with the engines up and behind you like that - and of course the headphones help too I'm sure. Real nice vlog, Alex - thanks!
André Rousseau yeah that plane is pretty awesome. Alex has a cool job for sure
Just beautiful.
Having nothing in front of you is a SG 38 Schulgleiter in original configuration.
Flying one is a dream.
The Schulgleiter has nothing in the back too ;)
Don't look back :)
Love that airplane!
I want a air cam now!!
This thing is just a giant model airplane! It's just awesome how quick you can get this flying garden chair up in the air... ^_^
It's amazing that Lockwood introduced the Aircam in 1995 and still produces the kit today! :-)
awesome video now that looks like a nice ride !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oshkosh, like Woodstock..everybody smiling and most of them got high.. :D Nice cover up Alex!
I see what you did there :)
LOL Danke Thomas! :P We need an European Oshkosh don't you agree! Well i almost forgot Flite Fest eu, hope to meet you there man!
Went to Oshkosh a few years ago and got to ride in a l4 grasshopper
Am I the only one that saw the "Adult Weekly" wristband on the pilot's wrist at the beginning and thought of something probably completely different from that it's actually for?
Nice video. A mix of GE and radio controlled airplanes.
Alex needs one of these.
With launch rails for quads.
about a couple of weeks ago I saw him ( possibly ) flying over my house. you don't forget that. damn cool.
I found your tent on Saturday, but you guys were not there :(
This is great, thanks for sharing Alex!
Thanks for watching Phil!
aircam is my dream plane , wanted a just highlander until i got a ride in one with floats
How do I get in contact with that guy to arrange a ride at Oshkosh next year? That looked like fun.
One of your best, Alex!
I was one of the kids in camouflage and an orange vest in 2013 and 2015. Best way to experience air venture is by being a marshaller. It's just sooooo awesome. XD
NBB is something i really wanna do. finally old enough so thats gonna be my NCSA of choice

Multi engine cannot be LSA.
I thought it was another remote control airplane but it turns out to be the real thing. Peace, Flood!
What a beautiful machine! You lucky lad.
It looks just like a goose or something lol
I don't get it, had sun glasses, but did not use them.
Stunning vid gentlemen
That was a cool vid, thanks guys
"It's a flying kiyak" popped into my mind
That was really great awesome that you got to do that
SUP NATE!! Dude, after watching i was a bit jealous! ;) -Stefan
:)
sick wit it!
Incredible
Is there such a thing as "light-sport multi engine"? that thing is awesome!
Nope, not in the USA. So other than this thing being crazy expensive, you also have to have a full private pilot license.
Since he is a AT pilot, he has it all: The money and all the ratings...
And multi-engine rating is also needed on top of the private pilot rating. It’s worth it 👍🏽😎
I want to see a foamboard version
circuit dreamer that would be cool, but the frame would something, lots of skewers lol
Anthony Ryder I imagined that lol
What licenses and certifications do people at flite test have?
most of em are seen driving cars and quads, so i guess a drivers license.. for flying rc planes and multirotors, none because no lisence is required.. and for a paramotor, i cant be sure.. in norway you have to be pp3 i think.. 10+ hours logged flying.. dont think you can skip paragliding lessons when getting a paramotor either
Feeb621 bixler would have a sport licence or private in the states. His piet would only require a sport tho.
Nice ride!
Could you guys do a video about free style with drones
Because you guys inspired me to start drones and air planes!
6000+ hours and I think I would pee my pants flying that thing from the front seat. I want one.
Wow that's an amazing experience it reminded me of my sky dive that I did in Sydney we were in a small plane. Jumped from the height of 14000 feet
Jealous. That looked amazing
Air cam from an aircam, I love it!
This is my favorite vlog
What would you recommend for someone who doesn't have much (or any 🙃) money to spend on getting or making a racing drone?
Senuht how much dO YOU HAVE
Senuht not much. Less than 150$. But I do have a dx6i, receiver, few batteries, commonsense rc charger, and a boscam 600 mw fpv setup
That Cathedral Guy you can definitely do it with that gear and budget. UAV Futures has a $100 quad video, that doesn't include the radio and goggles, but you've already got those.
Tiny Whoop?! ;) They are fantastic!
Alex!! Sumol laranja! 👌🏻
Please make a foam board version of this plane (with floats) :-)
I'll be interested to see a person flying in a( RC )foam plane just 5 feet above the ground
For some reason i can't explain that thing made me feel like there was nothing really around you at all. It seemed worse than a fan strapped to your back.
Fantastic.
I just got my gremlin in the mail! I'm exited for the build
I'm not a full scale guy but that's awesome
Loved the video :) it was ... Fantastic!! ;)
AWESOME
Im just confused to why it has victory marks...
they shot a few japanese birds... with their cameras..
I really liked this episode. Cool.
Thanks for watching Tom! ;) Glad you enjoyed it!
How good was that ....... More.
I'm 13 and got to fly a Cessna 182 with a airplane camp That goes tward my pilots licenence and we did simulators then we flew in real life and my pilot let me take off and fly around and he helped me land
