I know it's months later but the problem is the 'Coil Pack'. About 200 dollars and takes about 10 minutes to install with 1 T-20 or something like that. Just don't get your plug wires confused. Also check your "PCV elbow and the PCV itself for any leaks. Also check your oil and keep it changed and filled properly. I assume Cyl # 5 is misfiring which is very common in the 3.0L , 2004,2005. Also change the trans fluid with new filter and 'don't let them power flush' it.
@/home/gligar13 I have a Ford Taurus 06 3.0l, 6 cylinder regular motor. I replaced all spark plugs, wires as well as cleaned out the throttle body. I showed no codes for 2 weeks and then the P0300 code came back. I am being suggested to reprogram the computer or replace it. I experience shudders in Park and Drive. In reverse it shudders and I have to apply gas. What else could the problem be? Lmk. Thanks.
He said ECU it’s ECM and what’s he’s smelling is exhaust and it’s misfiring because of either a vacuum leak or a tune up. I have the same problem with my Taurus right now
Idk if you are mechanically inclined or not, but it probably just needs a tuneup (new plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc) You could just pull off the plug for #1 cylinder which is what the p0301 code is and look at it maybe a plug wire is not seated correctly, could be a coil too which you can get at a junkyard for cheap that's one good thing about tauruses, they are hella easy to find parts for.
The Spark Plugs were replaced recently, but to my knowledge not the coil packs. When it's warm the codes go away but in the winter, nearly all the cylinders have at least one misfire code.
Gligar13Vids Interesting, well. I guess it's one of the problems with I'll have to deal with when I get a car. Well, just remember not to leave your car out in the cold, OK?
Thank you HSER for providing an actual answer. Throughout this comment section, all I see is useless and mindless statements. Nice to see another human in here. lol
my friend P0300 is a multiple cylinder misfire P0301 is cylinder 1 misfire. on the 3.0 cylinder 1 is the first cylinder on the left in the back bank. 123 rear 456 front i bet your coil pack an rear plug's and plug wire's are original and need replaced. the top plenum must be removed to perform the work. take my years of experience and it'll run top.
Same thing happpened with my ford explorer a week ago. It was so cold my battery stopped working. I had to get jumped by a couple of friends. After being jumped my car would do the same thing. It would start up very weird and have a high idle RPM. I got the battery replaced and now i dont have this problem. How long have you had your battery? Its cold now and if its over 2 years old it may need a replacement. idk anything about the smells though
What button makes the antenna go back inside...I got a car cover clothe so I dont have to wash it every morning but the antenna sticks out and cant allow me cover the car at night...please help if you know the answer
/home/gligar13 big issues on these cars.. Intake manifold the upper manifold. A big pain in the hole.. A slight leak will cause fuel issue.. Missfire.. Mass airflow u name that manifold will trigger other things to appear bad but are not.. Right now mine sounds just like this one like shit.. Litteratly .. And i get p0301 p0304 p0401 egr. Pcv. And then one that mention the PCM. BUT THIS IS ALL BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC INTAKE MANIFOLD AND SHITTY PART OS MY 2001 DOHC24V FOR THIS MODEL YEAR NO ONE CARRIES THE MANIFOLD NEW.. CANT EVEN ORDER IT.. NIGHTMARE .. BUT YES EVEN 1 VACUME LEAK WILL TRIGGER THE PCM TO BASICALLY MALFUNTION AND CAN SHORT OUT FRON OVERHEATING.. TAURUSES ARE BAD ON THE PCM ALSO.. WHEN THE ENGINE ACTS UP THE PCM BASICALLY LOOSES ITS SKITTLES. AND OVERHEATS DUE TO CONSTANTLY ADJUSTING AND SHUTTING DOWN PARTS OF THE ENGINE.. SO YEAH A GREAT CAR IT IS BUT FORD BOOT LEGGIN WOTH THIS PLASTIC CRAP..
Maybe this car is pissed at you because you dis Nintendo so much and yet you a fanboy of the 3rd party cesspool that has nothing to offer that isnt on PS4/PC,

Good luck with whatever you do but yea could be the coils then or corrosion on the connections

In Australia, we don't have snow in the streets or in the cities.

Removed the passenger cowl only and you have room for the back plugs and wires

Just tested the battery, it's apparently fine. I'm going to try cleaning the contacts when I swap the coil pack too.

None
ours did the same thing new plugs wire and coil pack about 100 bucks
coil pack... my experience
Not all cars have issues.
American cars do 10x times more recalls and and some Japanese cars like nissan and Subaru junk ahaha and Germans
I could fix that but it looks like u dont upkeep yur vehicle
O2 sensor
Probs MAF sensor dude
Did u solve the issue
We got a different car. Coil packs improved it but there was likely more wrong like a vacuum leak.
