    Thanks. Absolutely the best Land Rover dash restoration video ever! The vacuum bag idea is so simple but changes the results immensely. Thanks again.

      Thanks! I have got the technique working well now - the perforated tube changed everything!

      It is a pity I ran out of the Weldwood adhesive - the flash off time is too long with the can spray - still the job was done ok

    Is there no end to what you can turn your hand to?
    The dash looks spot on! There must be thousands of us taking inspiration from this video👍
    Nice one!!😀

      All done using no specialised gear - the glue and material was expensive though!

    My brother and I just did this on a series 3 dash (thanks for your earlier video). I had spoken to an upholsterer and he said that we could use regular vinyl (just stretch one way). Use a hot air gun and it would stretch the term way too. We tried it and it worked great! Very pleased.

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can and I did it with regular vinyl but it is not easy and a hot air gun can damage the material - far simpler with 4 way stretch - I will show you soon how to do the bottom dash

    Neat and brilliant Mike, the vac trick is impressive never would have thought of that one , 😀👌

    Just doing this now on my project, i’m using
    Alcantara fabric instead of vinyl, just a good tip for the removing the vinyl I found using a heat gun makes the job 10x easier and far quicker and you don’t pull of bits of foam with it, thank you for all your videos

    Once I saw on EBay a replacement vinyl with different thread colors to do that repair. Same as door card covers.

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes because that would probably be 2 way vinyl and it does not stretch the same as 4 way- this is quite expensive here

    I doubt a motor trimmer would do a better job. In fact, I doubt they would even haveca go. Lovely work.

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking about this and there is no more auto trimmers in town now - there is in Montreal but not here
      That's why we have to do all the work ourselves
