I love how it sounds so similar yet so different from Patapon, I know they are from the same composer but I swear that the little jingles remind me of Locoroco its amazing
I'm guessing so! I mean the leading voice in all these tracks is ra-ta-tan ing and YA-HOI-HOI ing and the crowd is responding, implying you can drum it in like Patapon. @@gramblidge
Since this is the same composer that did Locoroco 1/2 and Patapon 1/2/3, there are still his signature moves and other similarities between the soundtrack and it's so delightful. Background chants are virtually identical to some that were in Patapon OSTs. For example Patapon 3 - Tum-ta-ta-tum, you can hear some similarities there. Probably many more.
it's like how some musical artists have leitmotifs they weave into their music first example I can think of would be Atsuover, her music has got a little melody you can recognize probably most recognizable from her Vs Garcello fnf mod, & iirc the leitmotif she uses is the opening of one of the first songs
What's especially cute is that I can pick up some of the Cobun singing "Paradea~!", noting the connection to the region! The tones at the start give it a mischievous air, too - as if the Ratatan and Cobun are sort of turning the Pirates' personal, antagonistic shanty against them, working it into something more jovial and personally theirs the more amped up they get. The song also has a definitive ending flourish and resolution, rather than just getting cut off! It's adorable to imagine that the Ratatan have a sort of "Farewell!" to their music, after they've done everything they need to do.
This song sounds so good holy crap, again. Like I've said, whoever voices The Ratatan somehow SOUNDS GORGEOUS. It's amazing, I feel the Patapon influence but managing to keep its own thing.
Aw, it's so adorable that you forget that they are a merciless legion incapable of remorse, which are loyal to no flag nor nation. They don't get PTSD from their crimes, they take joy in it, they treat it like an art. All you can do is pray, but they believe that God is dead, and they are there to take his place as judge, jury and executioner.

It's them quite literally singing "Rata-Rata-Ratatan", like, y'know, the god forsaken game title itself. Literally what reason would they have to say "Pata Pata Pata Pon"??? I get it, I love Patapon as much as y'all, but y'all need to get yer ears checked. The Japanese accent prolly makes it sound like Pata instead of Rata. Now, I won't discount the fact that they might've slurred it a bit to kind of sound like Pata instead of Rata (similar to how the game's title kinda looks like Patapon if you squint), but it's beyond a shadow of a doubt that they're saying Rata-rata-ratatan. Not Pata-pata-patapon.
Got the feeling it will have two difficulty options at least. One that you only input the 4 main beats and another that you have to input the off beats as well. And let's hope there's no swing beats.
I really like how you can hear the commands as well. If you listen closely there's one singing "rat tat rat tat rat tat tan", so I'd assume that would be the walking/marching command like in patapon. There's also "zun taka zun taka zun taka tan" and "yah hoi yah hoi yah hoi hoi", implying there's likely more drums than in patapon.
From the looks of things, there’s four buttons but possibly short vs long press or single vs double press, such as “Zun” and “Taka” having the same color and arrow.

I was born in the wrong era. I never got the chance to get into Patapon. That being said, I am absolutely playing Ratatan for the rest of my life once it comes out.
