    I can’t get mine to right either it’s like it has no full power kinda back fires?? I’m getting the right fuel pressure and I’m getting a knock sensor issue? And their new and working Simone told me it’s because theirs too much sound going on ? With build I went everything expensive and top of the line so I won’t run into no issues and I am

    I know I’m 4 years late but 3 things the computer can be bad it’s been my experience with silverados/tahoes that they don’t get proper o2 input when they’re bad. 2nd current performance has made mistakes before I got a harness from them that was wired wrong that I had to send back. 3rd you could have dirty/faulty injectors or improper ground to then

    Do you think it’s the current performance harness because everyone, I know that didn’t use the Kermit for best buy a harness there’s run great fast too

    Did you upgrade fuel pump

    On my 6.2/5.3 Gen Vs we have different O2 sensors on driver and passenger sides. Worth checking on yours.

    Did you try re programming your computer it could be your anti- theft.

    First change your oil now that it's fuel soaked. Then check for ground. The Current Performance harness should have a ground wire to attach to the back of the cylinder head. Attach a ground wire to the frame and the body to that same location. Are you running a MAF sensor? If so, it is too close to the end of you're intake. Move it to at least 10 inches away from the throttle body. That's what was wrong with mine, it had a lean code and threw a bunch of fuel at it until I moved it. Hope this helps. Keep up the good work!

      good info! I did double check all of the grounds to be safe, they were all good and solid. I am running MAF, but it is probably about 12-15" away. I don't want to cut that tube up any further just yet. If my other troubleshooting steps get me no where, you can bet I will be giving that shot though! What's weird is I am not getting any codes what so ever. I had a TPS code, the sensor was bad, so i replaced and it was good. No misfire codes, no o2 voltage low codes. It's odd. Thanks for the info! we will see what happens this week when i dig back in!

      @@HayesAutoWorx I understand about not cutting the tube up yet it looks awesome. What I don't understand is why it's not kicking a code 🤔 anyway, keep us updated.

    May 18 was my birthday. But that's beside the point.
    Anyway. Something you may be overlooking is the computer temp sensor. Not the one for the gauge. But the one the computer reads from. If it's faulty the computer will flood the engine with gas. Just like running with no O2 sensors. My experience yours may be another issue. Just thought I'd mention it.

    My guess would be injectors...you said it didn't change when unplugged injector wire

  • @christian9408
    @christian9408 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Did you change the cam, valve springs, lifters etc? It's very common when that gets done that guys don't check the pushrod length and the original pushrods are too long, thus slightly holding open some or all of the valves, causing all kind of issues of too lean or rich or whatever goes with which valves are being held open.

    • @HayesAutoWorx
      @HayesAutoWorx  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, everything was changed and of course checked push rod length. Replaced those too. Great point though!
      The issue ended up being a couple bad injectors. Should have a new video on that out in the next couple days or so. Thanks!

    Warm up the motor and drip a little water on each of the runners in the headers. That'll tell you if you have a dead cylinder. I bet you have a couple bad injectors. Try tuning it on maf only with an afr gauge. That'll omit your o2 sensors for testing

      Next vid will be up in a couple days, but you are correct. I had a couple dead injectors on bank 2. Got those replaced and she works as she should!

    Man I hate the headers on my Ls swapped s10 -‘ you said yours fit perfect. Are they the 1 3/4 or 1 7/8s mid lengths? Wanting to change mine out. As far as your problem goes I’d say change plugs definitely cause that can throw you for a loop an new injectors but I’ve also seen a pcm injector ground circuit (internally controlled) go bad an cause havoc an filled the entire engine with fuel to where it poured from throttle body lol so that’s possible to.

    • @HayesAutoWorx
      @HayesAutoWorx  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya man, these fit great. no beating around on things to get them to fit. Plenty of room. Not sure how easy they would be with the motor in he truck, but if ya get it lifted up slightly that should be enough room.
      It's been so long since I bought them, i can't remember 100%, but i believe these are the 1 7/8 model.

      I hope to have a vid up within the week fixing the issue (i hope) and getting some of that sweet exhaust tone on vidya.

    The chances are high that the injectors are dirty dirty dirty, I pulled I few injectors on my 5.3 with 170,000 and they was completely fuel of deposits, you can tap then on the table and pretty much watch the s##t fall out of them , that's my only advice awesome build awesome truck good luck can't wait to see it scream hope the new injectors work!

    I was just watching a video by Scotty kilmer about how putting headers on an engine wihtout tuning it would cause big tuning issues since your engine is tuned to the stock exhaust manifolds, not your headers. So this has to be custom tuned. Which I believe needs to be done on a dyno....

    • @HayesAutoWorx
      @HayesAutoWorx  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      must be tuned yes, more so because of the large cam change, but not required to be tuned using a dyno. This issue ended up being 2 bad injectors. Just haven't gotten the next vid out yet. Thanks!

    Dude as you are going through and doing your troubleshooting I was thinking to check all the exact same things as a you were so I'm sorry to say that I don't have any other advice. But I do wonder if you can get your injectors flow tested or seafoam the son of a bit*h.
