Kevin. little tip, get an old servo that's knackered, open it up and remove everything that's not on the output shaft plus the wires. Put the case back together and install in the second servo position to keep things smooth.
Keep the videos coming.
Just had to replace the stupid cheap Traxxas servos on my E-Revo 2.0 and I knew exactly where to turn! I bout a Reef’s 5 hoping I’m done w the Servo issue! Thanks for all you do bro!!
nothing better than having a quality truck at your finger tips i had the old erevo and loved it
I aligned my servos with each other and stopped using tsm...works fine now. I did however, order a JX EcoBoost 27kg from bangood, after watching one of your videos...ty sir
Just wanted to say, i absolutely love your videos. My 6yr old son and i just got into the RC hobby with a couple of traxxas slashes. We laugh everytime we hear "tumble wumble" or "whats happened?" Thanks for the entertainment, from the US
THanks justin :) Hope you're enjoying the hobby
Kevin, for those wanting to stay pure Traxxas, the 2255 servo (red case) is also a great option. Now, if I can just figure out how to get that little bit of lag out of the steering, I'll be somewhere.
Awesome video Kev I put some savox servos in my erevo!
I love my E-Revo 2.0. Glad to know of another option for the steering servos if/when mine go out. I don’t bash as hard as you do Kevin but that is most likely why I don’t have the same issues. Keep the E-Revo vids coming.
PaintballinPyro same here I don't bash mine mostly road runs and grass speed runs haven't broke anything
My servos broke, the plastic gears lost several teeth ... I decided to exchange it for Traxxas' own metal gear kit (part n. TRA2072R), it was the cheapest solution I found. The servos have been working well since then.
@@rodrigoborgneth awesome, but they still only have about 120 ounces of torque
Cool two wheel side stand, don’t think I’ve seen anyone do that before, you da man Kevin 👍
Glad to see the single servo worked well for you. The 2.0 diffs have a hard time with the self rite feature if you have the truck on higher gearing. Great video
I never self right ever its hard on all rc's with this feature
Hope you hit one million soon!!!
I just bought the 2wd traxxas slash vxl and its amazing
Get some steel axles, you'll need it lol
Cool I have that too! Just a few upgraded parts thrown on
04:29 RIP Diff.
Why?
Really nice video, thank you for the info... I have the same e revo 2.0 my self, and i'm going to make the same upgrade on the steering...🇸🇪👍👍🇸🇪
Brill battery’s use them in all my planes and trucks , can’t go wrong for price :)) 👍good vid👍
Nice to see a little workshop video. Not really a fan of live streams but enjoy wrenching videos
One of your diffs has had it mate. Unmistakable clicking going on there but. Hope you get it running right soon.. E-revo to the moon hahaha 🤣👊
35 WOOHOO FROM TEXAS, COMMENT 21, Good luck on the set up.
Awe dude!? What happened? More issues with it? Sorry bro! Your fix worked so good.👍 great video Kev. Another shop time opportunity at least? LOL!!! Cheers man! That post you made for me got me over 100 subs! So awesome can’t thank you enough dude!
No worries bro, glad to help :)
Hey Kev another great video 👍🏼
I bought a used e revo and it has a 25kg single servo on it. What is the difference between double and single servo? If I hit something (sideways) while accelerating, the direction of the front wheels shifts and the car does not go straight even if I do not steer with the remote control. An angle is formed in the wheels. Is this something related to the servo?
Nice video 👍
Traxxas tough baby!
Nice vid kev keep up the good work I blew up my motor on my traxxas rustler 2wd I got for christmas and I just got a new motor for it
I have an e Revo 2.0 and I thought my servos died but the TSM was ever so slightly on, so I turned it all the way down and then it was like normal, and when you are running two servos you need to align the two servo horns, they are not both level one needs to be a little crooked, basically set it up like you would set up one.
My tsm does the same thing on my erevo and trx6... called trax-ass and they said it was the first they’ve ever heard of it and tsm would never block steering inputs. Gave me a speech about high traction surfaces.
Great channel mate !
Love watchin ur vids !
More 5th scale !!
Awesome video kev
I’ve got that servo on my TRX four it’s a beast
Hi kev im watching this in a tent
Funny I have never had an issue with the stock traxxas servos, I just saw it was not lined up properly out of the box and lined it up. No fighting. No burning out. Still got a lot of power. And I have not broken the diffs yet, maybe the two wheeling might have a affect on it. Any how hope you get your erevo fixed it's a lot of fun.
Basically the whole hobby kev fix one then another problem happens
Top vid and I hope to see you at paddlesworth sunday
Hi kev great video as always , but would it be worth mentioning that fitting a stronger, more powerful servos draws more amps from the BEC on the Esc, and can have an effect on some , Not all ESC's , I'm only mentioning it because it's happened to me on my crawler Esc when fitting a 20kg servo and also similar issue on my short course truck from a 6kg to a 15kg. Keep up the great vids
Beautiful staffs
Honestly miss this over the live stream which I do enjoy also but conflicting of schedules
I am now using ZEE lipo batteries I have found on amazon. Seems to be my best battery 🔋 I have ever used
Buy some 2 or 3s overlander 5000 mah great battery for my erevo!!!
Try their premiums. I have their 3s premiums and they're on point!!
me its hrb
Love your vids keep them coming
Hi Kev
Been aware of your channel for quite a while but have just decided to subscribe as partly due to your videos I have just gotten into RC cars with a Tamiya Dark Impact.
I've done tanks and boats, and haven't had a car since I was a kid, so looking forward to getting into it!
Great content
welcome aboard bro :)
Good on ya kev keep it up mate
Love the videos! Keep it up brother. Sorry I live in the U.S. and can’t come to the meeting
Keep grinding on TH-cam Kevin
I got a savox servo in my summit and it’s great
Good conversion, though you might want to look into swapping the servo saver assembly for an aluminum or hopped up one, the stock plastic flexes quite a bit, and made the steering feel a little mushy for me under load (even with a stronger/faster servo), with just one servo pushing and pulling on just the one side, though if it doesn't bother you, all the better to avoid an added expense.
Workshop time = good time
My servos broke in my 2.0, plastic gears lost several teeth ... I decided to exchange for the metal gear kit from Traxxas itself (part n. TRA2072R), it was the cheapest solution I found. The servos have been working well since then.
Thanks for the part # buddy
Love your vids
Kev I have that servo in my trx 4
You just half to make sure they aren't power hungry servos and they are aligned and then they will work fine. Some servos do not work well with that 6s system and you will cause a brown out where it acts funny. Also one servo is enough but hard on it them wheels are huge so two do work better if you find the good match I myself use spectrum metal geared waterproof servos and they work great 45 bucks each. Also like I noticed someone else said the front and rear diff rings will chip tooths off if you try to self right it yourself use the button otherwise you will eat them teeth right off. Just change that diff ring and use the button you should be good after that but again you drive them hard so they will eventually break. Lol love watching the vids man
Hey kev can you take the slash on the weekend plss
I used to have an 1/8 E-maxx & E-revo 6 or more years ago, they both had castle/mamba monster running gear in them. It seems like they were built a lot tougher back then.
Yeah my old E-revo was a tank. Never broke a damn thing
I’m finally getting a new servo for my slash today, what a coincidence
👍It does look pretty!
Love the servo color!. Is there one that is faster that this one shown? I have a stampede that's super quick on the steering. Want/ need faster on the heavy erevo 2.0
That servo is better than the Traxxas ones, but it’s still very slow and low on torque. Check out KST servos. They’re the best IMO. I use them in all my race trucks and buggies.
For general light to medium off road would this servo or the KST be best for my T Maxx 3.3?
I'm wanting too get rid of the Traxxas crappy ones.
Absolutely!!! KST makes so many different servos, so you will have quite a selection to choose from!!! Just look up “kst servos” and you’ll find what you need. Feel free to ask any more questions if you need. I’ll probably respond faster if you comment on my newest video... which is pretty old lol. Good luck with the Tmaxx! I have an original Tmaxx from the very first year they were made.
Love ur vids
And that’s why I got rid of my erevo and bought an xmaxx!! I’ve had the xmaxx for 3 weeks now and haven’t broken a single thing! It’s a beast.
Xmaxx is slower, less responsive, requires way more battery, and costs 59% more excluding the batterias...
.
Throw on some zip ties for the rear suspension limit straps and a couple $16 amazon 20kg dsservos and you’re golden.
Firestarter are the suspension straps to keep the tie rods from pulling apart? Or is there another problem I haven’t run into yet 😅
jarrett maltry yup, to keep the tie rods from ripping apart.
Firestarter prolly helps the shock ends from being ripped out too
jarrett maltry yup. I use zip ties to the arms so that the arm can’t be over extended and rip any rod end off. I’ve never had a suspension issue.
Can you get a traxxas summit 1/8🙏☺️👍
I like your style.
Wooooooooo hoooooooooooo go kev
You will need a steel servo saver, the plastic one will break with that power on one arm. Mine did🤣
I’m predicting that now as I’m installing my new servo back in. What did you get/where did you get it?
Ben Provost you get it on amazon
Sometimes less is more! 1 less servo, more steering lol
I just switched my revo 2.0 to an all metal gear single servo set up on my 2nd run out the box the stock servos stripped out even though i had them aligned properly i used a betu 35kg
And also I really like ur videos here awsome
slipper clutch not so strong and then the back diff will never die bro... same problem with my erevo 2018 Brushless 1:8! EASY FIX
Ive had this Problem with my mini E revo at the rear Differential. Ive put a thin Washer between the Housing and the Tothed side of the Diff Gear so that it had some pressure to the outside Shaft, after this modifikation i had no Problems anymore with my Diff.
kev!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wheres the rustler 4x4 vxl
I bought my kids the 1/16 scale e-revo, which only has one servo to begin with. One of my twin boys drove it in the rain and it quit turning left. Does that sound like a servo issue to you? They've had it 24 hours.
OMG i was just watching this servo on banggood
Did u ever have problems with ur push rod ends
I have the same servos one on my savage 25 and one on my losi 8ight buggy they work great
I can almost guarantee the sound is a bearing in the rear diff. I had the same issue with mine. Thats really the only issue Ive had diff wise, and ive had it since it came out and abuse it every day.
hey kev in theory could u run 2 25s?
Are floureon battery good?
also, the e Revo 2.0 front diff is a week spot as well, its because of the self right and because it does wheelies all the time the front diff get allot more abuse than the rear
Kev!!You should start to make a serie called useless RC car experiments. Where you test al kind of stuff like frieing oil als shock oil and different types of liquids to start a nitro engine one
Love your content man. Keep it going
No
@@rc.obsession8207 can you tell me why not? I think it will be loads of fun to watch al kind of experiments.
Thom Weber frier oil as shock oil? That might ruin the shocks and different liquid to use as fuel in a nitro engine could ruin the rc. Diesels can run off of oil but I don’t think a nitro would handle it well. I don’t want him to ruin his toys
@@rc.obsession8207 i think the gass powered cars can handle some differt types of fluid
Heck yeah, a good strong servo makes all the difference. Have you tried those kosmik servos?
Hey kev would you ever buy a electric 1/5 scale RC
X maxx
Working on this one, had to increase weight oil in rear diff and lube some stuff and worked better than out of the box. still messing with it to make it better as I'm learning. probably not the greatest to do those long bicycles with stock diffs, haha
Hi great video
Sweet man
Do another erevo cid
The guy I bought my 2.0 from told me that the self righting blows the diffs and tires because it goes so hard from front to back
Yeah I stopped after noticing the tire was starting to rip off of the rim... and not at the point of glue... just above it.
So what was the problem? Why didn’t the servos work before?
JSpiderTTS_44 the servos where fighting against each other and it kept burning them out do to the constant load. So he replaced them with one very powerful servo.
Wow lol
I tried both. Single and dual servo setup. Dual setup works better.
Facts me too bro, itried the 1 servo and it doesn’t work as well, E-Revo is built that way though, i can see why Kevin did at least try that
Thanks Kevin for the wonderful videos!! I am planning to buy servos for upgrade to my ERevo 2.0 and my Arrma Outcast, is this one good for both or the LW25MG you installed on your Notorious?
Hello what’s your gear set up on this ?
Where is the link please for these servo’s ? My Traxxas ones has both died. Are these recommended then?
How is this working still?? Looking to get it done
Did U change the camera u use for timelapse
Not sure if you have the BEC set to 7V+ or not, but even at 6V, that servo should be .16 sec speed, which it didn't seem that quick when you were going lock to lock on the bench without weight on it. Maybe it was, just didn't seem that quick.
One problem fixed an a new problem begins that’s traxxas for ya 😢😅
What gearing do you run on the e revo man ?
Kevin, what do you recommend? More power e.g. 2x 20kg (my choice) or a faster one (so 0,10s to 60° at 6V - rather than orig. 0,17s for 60° )?
What is more important, power (kg) or speed (or both ;-) ?
Thanks !
rustler 4x4 vxl vids?
Is ur e revo spur gear metal and is ur front gear metal to
Latrax prerunner please
The diff didnt like that sideways 2 wheeling at full throttle loll or the self wright..
Yeah, I can't believe any RC manufacturer would tout self righting as a "feature" and build it in. Then again, I guess they make more money when people chew up diffs frequently. I can't say I've seen it in action in person, so perhaps they have it a bit softer than it seems as it ramps up RPM's in both directions.
What is the best traxxas slash esc and motor on 2s or 3s? Or what do you recommend kev?
Will these batteries fit the ereco mamba monster edition?
The built in BEC voltage output is 6V, since that servo can handle 7,4 it should perform better with an external BEC. I don't think is a true 25 Kg for 50$ anyhow
