    Great video! I also put this repair gear kit from Traxxas but I used the metal parts. It held for a while but I ended up trading Servos for Savox's.

    That's crazy you managed to keep the twin servos running, I don't like em. But wife says no on the hundred dollar red one which would make my Revo dialed. I am gonna go single high torque later, but for now I will get part 2073

    Amazing that you’re on stock! More amazing how easily you explained how it saves the servo! Subbed! Respect.. only wish more of us had access to all the tools you have.. I mean for a lot of your other videos.. need hacks;)

    Thanks for great video. Im considering buying a servo saver in aluminum since i might be going for stronger servos in the future. I wanna drive the summit first tho so i get the feel for what is needed to upgrade. I have only had my summit for 6 days now. It's my first rc in 30 years so i'm loving it. 4s lipo in high gear is fast enough for me! But i will go brushless since i get more runtime with the batteries i got for now. 2x 2s lipo traxxas 7600 mah

    Great video! I not so long ago, replaced my entire unit with an RD Logics aluminum and really lightweight version. I’ll admit, that spring upside/downside was a little tricky to get right! What I want to know, is I see quite often these parts that claim to give your Revo (3.3) either more steering movement, or quicker steering response. I don’t know exactly how that works without changing the servos? Oh and don’t feel so bad, I’m still running on the stock servos too! And my truck is the OLD original 2.5 version. I want to upgrade, but damn the more torque servos are a little pricey, not enough to inhibit them. But in the end, I think they’d be worth it.

    You ran over tighten the long screw that goes through servo saver. Which will compress the plastic to roll over said shaft. Where it will impede the bearings for turning properly from top or bottom or in some cases both ways. Especially if the bracket at bottom is aluminum that everything rides on.

    • @jeremytill2908
      @jeremytill2908 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was my concern coming into this video. How much do you tighten that screw? And I just ordered the HR aluminum steering assembly because I broke the plastic one.

    • @tylerclontz
      @tylerclontz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make it tight. The metal “shaft” or tube prevents you from over compressing the servo saver.

    Do you know what size the screws are for the steering links? Where they hook to the servo saver.

    Steering control arms, how the heck do u get the screws in the servo saver when u do it this way.. there’s no way to get the tool .in or at least I cant

      I'm not sure i understand. If you removed all the parts out of the way like I did. Then all srews should just drop back in. Which srew are you referring to?

    My two servo were fighting with each other so wheny truck run it sways a lot. Eventually one of them burned. As soon as I change to single servo set up this issue disappeared. But I am sure it put stress on servo saver without balance, I am worried at one point if may break. With strong signle side 36 kg metal gear servo set up, Is an aluminum servo saver any good for or keep it plastic? I heard aluminum can be worn out easily. I am still on plastic for now. BTW, Nice video, I subscribed.

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would keep the plastic. Plastic absorbs energy and aluminum trasfers it to another area. Whatever is the next weakest link in line.

      Agreed, Traxxas made it this way cause at 599.00$ they just couldn't give us the red one with metal gears, greed! But I like working on my RC but not at too much expense, too expensive is not fun.

    Can you recommend me new servos for my e revo 2.0? Looking for a set of 2 but something that’ll last, as long as it handles like stock or better I don’t mind. Pretty new to the hobby don’t really know what to look for In the servos. Too much torque and I’ll break servo savers, and if I get something that turns 180 degrees or something wild I’ll have to reset my EPA which is hard to do with the stock traxxas radio

      Savox servos are great. Pic your oz number for tork and make its waterproof and all metal gears and bearings are important.

    Do you have the 1/16 e-revo? I got carried away taking mine apart and now having trouble putting all the screws back in their original spots

      No, I only have the 1/10. What screws are you having problems with?

    Hey man, I got a question, I know this video is 3 years old but I'll give it a shot anyway in hope for a response.
    Alright, I'll try to explain it the best I can.
    So my servos work fine, but it doesn't move the wheels at all, I took the servo saver apart like you did but for some reason the brace where the linkage for the servos connect need real strength to move them. It's not lose like yours. Help?

    • @Sk.2500
      @Sk.2500 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At 23:11 see where you move it around easily? Mine doesn't. It moves with a lot of strength required

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to understand I can't see this or move it around, but are your servo horns stripped out? Are your rod ends on the links to tight? Is the screw holding down the servo saver to tight?

    Good afternoon...... I have a question and the hobby shop here in Albuquerque are not helpful. I had to replace the servos within 2 weeks of getting my RC and everything ran great and then I lost the steering. The servos are def working I can see them working when I flip it over but the wheels are not moving. I replaced the parts that your describing in this video and still nothing. Any ideas? I would sure appreciate it.

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are your servo horns stripped out? If your servo rotates back and fouth and your servo saver is set up correct but wheels don't turn then I would check out the servo horn . Is it a stock servo horn?

    • @davidryansargent6731
      @davidryansargent6731 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@upgradedrc3697 Thanks for the reply I really appreciate it. Turns out that a tiny rock got wedged In the front "knuckle" and was preventing it from turning from side to side. I got lucky and found it on accident. I really do appreciate your response and time your videos are perfect for guys like me who know nothing and need the layman's terms so to speak so again thank you.
