I got them as well. Do you have to tighten the middle nut for the rod holder itself by hand or with a tool for it to stay snug? I tightened by hand but when trolling and a fish hits it comes loose
Only if you rub it on the holders themselves... and if you're ever tired out there on the water all you need to do is lick them a bit. Hope you've been good buddy 🤣😁
How you liking that Salty? There's no such thing as a perfect kayak, so what are your complaints about that one? Those Smackdown rod holders look pretty sweet. I'm pretty sure those plastic rails are going to give out before the rod holder does. Been a few complaints about that already. Keep them videos coming!
There were a few clips in there from my previous trip, but I'm definitely looking to get out this fall. Got injured so I'm currently home-bound Whomp whomp
@@billcoulter1984 You're both correct. The hardware used to install the Old Town tracks is not the strongest. I could see a very hard hitting fish ripping the rod holder right off 🤔🧐
Hey Travis! I love my Old Town Salty PDL 120 kayak. On the ocean these rod holders also handle themselves well as they're made of stainless steel components. Happy new year!
It's definitely a blast & there are ton of great options out there right now. If you're shopping around and want some advice feel free to send me a DM on Instagram 🤙
I love YakAttack, and use many of their products on my Salty. That rod holder is probably easier to mount and lighter, however, you have to love the multiple mounting angles you get with these in comparison (and they'll never snap).
@@CattermanAdventures I thought about breaking the rivets and chucking it but I want to find something else to go over the holes other than just fill them with sealant 😁

Hello my super awesome friend Does it come with a coffee smell to drive the catfish Crazy 😜

The Fishing Adventures of Catterman yeah it’s awesome
@@kevinpeterman2037 love hearing that. I'm assuming they took care of you over at KK?

Have 4 of these on my Frontier12!! Very legit rod holders! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
That's awesome! I knew soon enough I'd find a nucanoe user in the comments 😂🤙
Any Salty in rough water vids?

Whomp whomp
I just bought a couple of railblaza mounts for my nucanoe, then I was curious if monster had Kayak mounts and this video popped up
That's awesome man. Hope the video was informative and entertaining
great video brother greetings from chicago illinois
Glad you enjoyed it, greetings back from the dirty jerz 🤟
But are the tracks strong enough to handle a 100lb catfish?
The track is the weak point, curios what happens when a big fish loads it up?

Do u still like the 4” stems?
I still do! I guess it's all about personal preference
How's this handle in the ocean?

Yak attack rod holders are easier to install, lite weight, and strong. They are also made in America. Also cheaper.

I hate my rod holder man. I wish I never installed it on my kayak. I fish for bass mostly so I never really use it.
I completely feel you on that. I brought a rod holder once with me while bass fishing and that thing constantly got in the way
@@CattermanAdventures Yup. My first few trips after putting it I probably smashed my hand against it paddling 3 times every hour.
@@TravisDoesKayakFishing Gooodd lord my dude ahaha. That must've sucked! I'm surprised you didn't toss it into the water right there.

😂 probably the better way to go.
