In an interview Ringo gave he talked about the last time he saw George. He was visiting him, and said George was very sick, bedridden by this time, and was so weak he could only whisper. After awhile Ringo stated he had to leave to catch a flight to go help a family member. George looked at him and whispered..Do you want me to come with you? Ringo said he held it together until he got outside then burst into tears. He said George passed two weeks later. Even though it's sad I love that story. It shows the love between them, and George's sense of humor that never faded. Rest in Paradise sweet, beautiful spirit❤❤
I believe it was Ringos daughter, who herself was fighting cancer at that time.

What a nice final phrase "His death was a tragedy for the world, but his life was a gift to us all"...
People misunderstand the word tragedy
That would be a monumental achievement in life wouldn't it..for your life to be a gift to everyone else in the world.. like George Harrison's was and he truly was..
What 's occuring in Gaza is tragedy, the loss of a "strongwriter"is nothing but sadness(isn't it a pity...). All things must past, I agree, and I'll drink to that, but what's going on in Palestine is sick man ! Sorry for your loss guys !
"We're actually Spirits encased in bodies."

All of life is passing away from us, from the present-so true!
This is the second time I have seen this quote by T. Williams in one week!
Life isn’t memory at all, the past and future don’t exist and all there is the Now.

that morning at 4:15 a.m. I woke up to go to my job and my uncle told me, Hey Harrison died this morning. That was the saddest news I ever heard recently after the twin tower attacked. I cried all the long, alone in my job and in my mind only heard "all thing must pass".... I remember it clearly as if it was yesterday.

The “Concert for George” DVD is a loving tribute as well as a fantastic display of musicianship. The inclusion of his son Dhani put it over the top. Worth a view and a listen. Over and over
One of my all time favorites, Billy Preston , My Sweet Lord, I feel like I'm in church, such a spiritual moment. Never tired of watching that concert over and over.
For sure, Dhani’s appearance had me in tears. So like his father in sound and looks.
I had to have the DVD's. It's one of the best concerts by everyone George loved and respected. George was my favorite when I first saw them, I think I was 9 or 10 years old. Something about his eyes impressed the little girl that I was.

George was a wonderful humanitarian, such a generous and giving person. He had so many trials in his life for someone so peaceful, the attack he suffered was a disgrace. RIP George.

Meditation, getting rid of the 'ego'
Ray Shasho: What was George Harrison like?
Dave Edmunds: He was one of the most interesting people that I’ve ever met, and one of the nicest. Whenever the subject of The Beatles would come up…he always called them the fabs, like the fab four. He’d say…when I was in the fabs… and always looked at it with amusement, not with any ego at all. He looked at it like…what a weird thing that was, how the hell did that happen? The other three may have been egotistical about it and proud of being Beatles, but with George he saw it as some cosmic joke. He was just amused by the whole thing, he loved it but he kept it to himself, and you could tell when you were talking to him that there was no ego at all. Maybe acid burned it off. (All laughing)…I do miss him.
I always thought that George was and had something special. As Griffin said, you can't put it in words. My sweet Lord was my all time favorite. He was one of the great and the world lost someone extraordinary. RIP George. You were loved. ❤❤❤
When I was a young hothead, John Lennon was my fave Beatle. As I’ve grown personally and age-wise, George has ascended to the fave spot.
Spot on...Same here. When I was young, "Revolution" was my life soundtrack...In my mid 50's, "All Things Must Pass" has replaced it...

Yep, me too. I was born in ‘58 so was a youngster through the Beatles life with my older brother making sure we had every album on release, and it wasn’t till I was older that I realised that many of my favourite Beatles songs were George songs.

25 February 2024, HAPPY 81 BIRTHDAY, an underrated musician, singer and songwriter, overshadowed by John Lennon And Paul McCartney, but eventually came into his own, successful in his own right. To commemorate George Harrisons birthday, I listened to every song he sung on every Beatles album. Listened to the All Things Must Pass Album, Some post beatles songs, I watched 2 George Harrison documentaries. I watched a clip of him on The Simpsons, I watched a clip of him in Nowhere boy performing Raunchy on the top floor of a double decker bus, I watched A Hard Days Night Movie and HELP Movie, and the Beatles parody film The Ruttles He's one of my favourite guitarists, I tried to learn to play guitar like him, and i got into indian instruments and Classical Indian music because of him. He deserves more credit, for his contributions to music. R.I.P George Harrisob 1943 - 2001😂
When I was introduced to George Harrison by a school friend he has already left the earth but since then I have been always fascinated by him. He is one of the greatest guitarists and a great soul. Sincere gratitude, love and respect from Bangladesh. George Harrison forever.
Our generation was truly blessed by their presence..

I love the fact that George Martin lived until a ripe old age and was sharp as a tack until the end. He was quite a bit older than the boys during the 60’s so the fact that he can give an interview in 2013 and look and sound like he did back then is amazing. I know this documentary is about George Harrison but I just wanted to call that out.
2 amazing George’s, 1 documentary 😃
Couid not agree more. The Fab-Four were great, but Sir George Martin took their talent and moulded the most memorable quartet in living memory. George Harrison for me was the consummate musician first and a canny celebrity too. His demeanour and character the same throughout his life. He is terribly missed.
And yet Martin wasn’t really THAT old. The amazing things he did and contributed were at a relatively young age, too.
George Martin was a lot like my father was in his old age. You can smile at everything said about George Harrison. Frank Sinatra liked the arrangement of Something.
Long before he had any association with The Beatles, George Martin took Oboe lesson's from Jane & Peter Asher's Mother, Margaret.
George was so boring
The more I hear about him, the more I see how sweet he was. I know he was a dear friend to have in your corner. I can just imagine how tender he was with those he cared about, and even if he hadn’t spoken to you in a while- he would be the type to pick up where you left off.
George in my mind will never be forgotten. His love, his generosity, his humour his 2 amazing bands is what I will remember.
What I'll remember most about Jim is his tourniquet, his harpoon,

Our "loss" of George is palpable. But for George it wasn't sad. He welcomed meeting God. He wasn't afraid to die. He said this frequently way way before he contracted cancer.
He made me realise the human condition and "us" being soul vessels that occupy our bodies temporarily and move along to another plain when our bodies die.

'm a 68 yo loving Beatles fan...John and George...I love their gifts and their souls.
George's music was deep and had spiritual meaning as well. As I've grown older his songs have found a very deep personal meaning to me. I'm so glad I kept listening to the Beatles and all their solo works since 1970. All Things Must Pass really made an impact to me when I was only 10 or 11 years old. I practically 'rediscovered' some of George's songs every few years as I grew and matured mentally and became deeper involved in just what music was and how it impacted me. And in the end, I believe that George was the most talented Beatle of all and wrote songs that have lasted the test of time and meaning. George wasn't quiet or shy; just a thinker with very deep spiritualism that had wonderful impact on him and could not be fully grasped in a pop music reality. God bless George and what he left behind for the rest of us!! Hare Georgison still lives--in his music.
George the most talented Beatle of all? Third. Wrote three great songs: Something, While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Here Comes the Sun. McCartney and Lennon wrote over 100 as Beatles. Clearly, George was a great guitar player and an integral part of the Beatles. But only the tone deaf would suggest that he was the most talented. Third most!
Me too! In my 70s now & been on a Beatles review for months! Old memories & much to discover…
I feel the exact same way. I hear his music so differently now. I love it even more ✌️❤️
Still waters run deep. George taught me that there is love and sacredness in humor, in gardening, in other cultures and spiritual teachings, and these truths are as plain as you may feel them. The limelight may shine on us or not, but the sunshine mostly always will brighten our days. By his humble but brilliant demeanor, we are all lifted up. Isn’t it a pity? We are too short upon this Earth, but by your works you may be remembered. We remember him with great respect.

His cover of Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven" featured a strong vocal with an equal facility to solo on guitar.
George was a strong silent type unless he had something to say.. And his music on his own touched many deeply.
In one of the many Beatles interviews from either '67 or '68, Harrison was asked whether the riches he'd gained from being a Beatle had somehow tarnished his search for a higher purpose. Harrison replied, "The money is immaterial. You can't buy enlightenment, or spiritual fulfillment with money..." and then he paused for a bit to collect his thoughts. During the pause, Lennon sardonically injected, "Can't buy me love neither."

As I read it, @gordeauxd is simply saying that, to his ears (assuming he's a he), he thinks George only wrote three great songs. I think I have heard almost all of George's music and I happen to agree with him, but it's just a matter of personal taste. I know I'm in a minority, but I have given All Things Must Pass so many listens, in order to find out why people think it's so great, and I still haven't figured it out. I personally find it boring, but most people, including you, think differently, and that's absolutely fine, and well done George. For me, he just didn't produce anything I want to listen to, after Abbey Road, which I see as the height of his career. Who wrote the Most
Amazing ⭐️Songs.
He is Dearly Missed.🥀😥
George was always my favorite, he was pure love and peace, we miss your lovely humor😿😿😿RIP
What a wonderful tribute to George !! I am sitting here with tears rolling down my face, as we celebrate a man like no other. RIP George.
Great man, great musician, and great lyricist, with a wonderful voice. Victor from Australia.
My favorite Beatle when I was a little kid and still an endearing soul about 60 years later. Very nice video contribution. Thanks.
There was never a time when you and I did not exist, nor a time we cease to be
A wonderful man; an inspiration.
There'll never be another John another Paul another George or another Ringo.
Boss band of our lifetimes
💘
George was a very beautiful song writer something was even sang by Elvis Presley in Aloha from Hawaii shows how beautiful Elvis Presley respected the song
The music of All Things Must Pass is among the greatest ever recorded.
He touched so many people. While his faith was different from my Roman Catholic faith, he showed me how the path to spiritual enlightenment comes in many different ways because the journey is unique for all of us. I believe that Our Lord is holding him in his loving arms.
The top three best lines in the movie Hard Days Night were all delivered by George Harrison. The *solo in Till There Was You, which was a cover song, was *George's original composition and it is brilliant. And as a guy who has always been a "Paul" guy and even perform as Paul in a tribute, I believe Something is a greater song than Yesterday. And to boot, he made it a positive and happy complete Beatles band recording love song unlike Paul's solo work in Yesterday with some guy's in a string quartet.
Beautiful man, beautiful soul. Love you George. 🙏😥💙
George Harrison was a spiritual artist. He sought after greater purposes of life and gave music to his inner feelings and revelations in a rock era which was itself a challenging task to do.The depth of his songwriting and performances is unparalleled many of his songs have an amazing zenful effect.
And then of course his divine slide.
He was really unique! George goes definitely beyond The Beatles ,imo.
light,love and peace ॐ ॐ ❤
PS .George left his body the 29 of Nov 2001 and NOT the 12 as it is said in this video.
Wow...has it really been 20 years since George passed? Seems like yesterday
Well, George played in the Chet Atkins and Carl Perkins style which is a totally different way than most guitarists. He really learned to use his thumb to bounce off a bass note when needed. Just a wonderful craftsman who I especially liked on acoustic on "Apple Scruffs" and "Crackerbox Palace," and on what I consider to be a masterpiece, "Within You, Without You."
George is my favorite one bc of his Spirituality. May you find peace wherever you are. Prayers & hugs to your wife & son.
As well as his own songs, George's contributions to Lennon/McCartney compositions is vastly underrated. Paul acknowledges that some of the fills and hooks that George played, which were not a written part of the song, made the songs so much better. What an amazing musician, and a humble, as well as very funny man.
For example, I heard he came up with the riff for "You Can't Do That." John and Paul had the chords and lyrics worked out, but that riff really makes the song.
I learned later that he gave away quite a few song writing credits. For example, Paul McCartney did not write that opening lick to "And I Love Her". Maca admits this years later that it INDEED MAKES the song. (But officially it is Lennon and McCartneyl
I say that as a guy open to the fact that the Beatles might not have written all their songs and I'm the hugest Beatles fan ever saying this
@@AZDC99 false. You don't get songwriting credits for coming up with fills.
@@AZDC99 Right. And Paul put down a guitar solo to "Taxman" when George got frustrated after failing numerous times. And George asked John and Paul to help with the lyrics to "Something". They were a group and each member contributed ta little something to each song. That doesn't mean that they change the the writing credits for every rhyme or lick or drum roll
George of course contributed greatly to many Lennon/McCartney compositions but it should be said that the others - particularly McCartney - contributed significantly to George’s songs. Made his great songs significantly better.
His life is a gift to us all, oh yes.
Within You Without You, It's All too much, While my guitar gently weeps, Here comes the Sun, Something, long long long, If I needed someone, Savoy Truffle, all of these songs bring pure joy to my heart.... The consciousness behind this creativity is the mind of an enlightened soul.... my hero George Harold Harrison with my three other super hero's John, Paul and Ringo.....
The entire "All Things Must Pass" album was the finest opening statement of the four of them! When people slagged off the "Dark Horse" album in 1974 I loved that fucking album and played it until I needed a New One!
The Inner Light
15:20 Clapton released "Wonderful Tonight" in 1977, after him and Patti had been together for years. The song he did write when he fell in love with her whilst she was married to George was "Layla". Actually, the whole album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" was inspired by his love for her.
Thank you George for your beautiful music and peace loving human being a true beautiful man a person of a good hearted human being
I loved George. He had a beautiful voice and was a genius songwriter.. He was a Man that was so loved. His music was from the heart. Something we can all relate to.
I’m still shocked...each time I watch this. They never mention his time with The Traveling Wilburys?
I can hear the song “The End of the Line” echoing. That was that last great musical accomplishment
in a band of peers!
Prayers & Blessings George
For day in, back in the YA YA days
From day one, back in the YA YA days, I have always been much more moved by Harrison!!!
