Thanks for pointing out this new feature. Without your video I would never have known it was there. When I try this on my LaserMatric mk-1 if I open the cover to move the wood the laser beam turns off. Did you override this safety feature on your mk-2?
Sorry Rich, even with an earth magnet over the right hand sensor and settings all the same, even with the door closed lazer still not fireing, am I missing something?
@The Louisiana Hobby Guy Rich, does the Frame feature in LB 1.5x only frame a rectangle/square, or can it frame the outer profile of an irregular shaped job? ...say, perhaps, a circle or star?
Dear Rich. Thanks for the info/update. This really is a useful new feature which I came to learn about only from your video. These update videos are of great help. I hope that Lightburn people also follow your channel as my thanks are directed also towards them. Best regards. Emanuel
This is fantastic. Query: When i frame i raise my focus to about 10mm to see that all is okay. I then lower the focus to where it needs to be and run my job. If i need to rerun the job (normally a cut) and i need to lower the focus it is never aligns to the original cut. Any advice is welcome. I have an Ortur OLM3 10W machine.
Sorry but I have a question. Even running at 1%, if you have your glasses on, shouldn't you be unable to see the laser? Granted it's only 1% but if you catch it just right it could be a problem.
Hi Rich. I am loving my Lasermatic MK2 10/30w however, I have noticed that when framing on certain materials, the laser leaves a mark on the materials. I have tried turning the laser framing setting down but it's still leaving a line on my materials from the laser. Do you know of a way I can fix this and still use the laser for framing?
If you recently bought a new 100 watt laser and a loud beeper came on any and all time the door was open, what would be your reaction? The companies resolve was to place a magnet on the door sensor button to be placed or removed every time the door is used. What is the point of the alarm if the resolve is to disable it?
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy They added a separate switch door activated for the beeper compared to slightly earlier 100 watt and above models. There is no adjustment. I know how to install a switch but I’m concerned with a safety hazard. This is our first laser so nativity runs high. Your video’s has sure been helpful!
No sir, I do not have a Lasermatic; I purchased a Xtool D1 Pro 20W based on how great you was saying it was at the time of purchase. Not just you but most other TH-cam laser makers were talking them up. I do not have someone giving me stuff for free, I paid full price for mine and cannot afford another one. It irritates me slightly to hear all of you guys putting mine down now just because someone is paying you to sponsor something different. There, that's my rant, I still love you, just had to get it off my chest.
I don't think they are saying it is no good. From what I gather, they are saying, if it does have a problem, there is poor support from the manufacturer. As time goes by, there are improvements to the next machines. It is not uncommon to be an early purchaser to find that they no longer have the "Latest and greatest", in fact, it is pretty much a given outcome. As long as your D1 is working properly, you should be happy to have it.
I questioned how he could test other lasers a while back (I think it was a fair enough question since he is an "ambassador" for Roly. And I was told to mind my own business! Unfortunately business is the right word. Not saying anything is bad about Roly (I never tried one) but how can you drive a Ford given to you free by Ford and try to honestly review a Chevy - it just doesn't make sense.
You must have me mixed up with someone else. I haven't done any reviews on xTool products for good reasons. And I'm not paid for my opinion reviews. Nobody is putting you down. Diode lasers have come a long way since the D1 Pro came out.
Being a Brand Ambassador for the LaserMATIC is not a paid position. I took on the title as featuring the laser in most of my videos because of the precision and quality. It is simply the best diode laser on the market. I have no agreements with any company for exclusivity, nor will I ever. I find it quite offensive that you question my integrity and honesty. These are the principals this channel is based on, which is why my reviews show both the good and the bad. I highly doubt I ever told you to, _"mind your own business."_
A lot of folks have been patiently waiting for this new feature!
Thank you very much
You are welcome!
How did you bypass the cover safety?
With a magnet.

Yes Jesse. A magnet in the front right corner disables the magnetic switch.
Sorry Rich, even with an earth magnet over the right hand sensor and settings all the same, even with the door closed lazer still not fireing, am I missing something?
I can't diagnose your machine in a text, sorry.
Sorted Rich, magnet in left and right corners and power min. 3.75% worked fine. Thanks!
Super cool! I still frame even though I have the LaserMATIC. Old habits :)
Old habits die hard! 🤪

There are 2 frame buttons, regular and rubber band. Choose the rubber band (on the right) for odd shapes.

You probably moved the laser module slightly when refocusing.

You can see it perfectly fine if you have the right glasses Dave.
Fantastic Rich! Thanks again to Lightburn for the Upgrade, and thanks to you for the video.
Awesome! Have fun with it Larry!
Is there a “safety” measure where the laser can only be a max of say 1% during the continuous framing ??
No, the fire button will work in increments of .25% starting at .75 on most diode lasers. A few start at 1%.
Thank you Rich for another clear and helpful video.
Glad it was helpful Emanuel!
Thank you, Rich for this information this will help me
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching Clayton!
Rich this well help with my D1 non pro really well, and my 20watt pro also

Wonderful! I had no idea this was a new option! Thanks for telling all of us about this.
Glad it was helpful Lori!
That was so great I could smell the burnt wood! Thanks LHG.
Glad you enjoyed it!
i find placing my work on a piece of paper and moving the paper helps to align the work piece with more control
Whatever works for you. There are a dozen ways to do it! I have show the paper method before.
Great little tip Rich. Thanks
You're welcome! Thanks for watching! 👍

If you set the power to 0.75% on the fire button on the Move tab, that should work.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thank you.
Thank you for sharing....
My pleasure Charles!
Burnt fingers looks like to me

The safety switch probably needs to be adjusted.

Wow! Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
Thank you Rich for this tip! Always a pleasure to listen to you.
Thanks for watching and listening!
Excellent feature! I remember framing before the LaserMatic10 and I framed, then moved material then framed again, etc etc...such a pain!
You can say that again!
Always learning something new. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Much appreciated.
My pleasure!
Very good tips , thanks . Allocated framing , saving more programs to run . 👍
Thanks for watching!
Hey thanks Rich
This will work out well when I put my initials on a pocket knife.
Jim
Awesome Jim! 👍 Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much Rich. As always, very helpful. I suspect most folks don't know about this new feature nor how to use it.
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching again Steve!
