  • Hello My Old Friend.
After first venturing on this beautiful rock some years before we found ourselves back once again in familiar territory an in the awesomeness that is Glencoe.
Our first experience on Buachaille Etive Mor had been an amazing one and one after which we celebrated in the thought that we had completed this star of Glencoe. But it was not. Someone got it wrong and decided that due to time we would leave the last top out and retrace our steps. That last top was in fact the summit of Stob na Bròige.
So, as you can imagine, every drive through Glencoe since has resulted in pointing of fingers as we pass by the Kingshouse, over the white bridge and into the Glen, with promises and vows of a return firmly made but never realised until this day.
The weather had not been on our side the week we stayed in Glencoe on this occassion. Targets of the Aonach Eagach and Ben Nevis ledge route were washed away in the non stop rain that accompanied us on every days visit. But, on a morning at least promising a few hours break in the weather we found ourselves walking through the Lairig Gartain from the main car park that would lead eventually left and up through the Stob Coire Altruim and onto the summit of Stob na Bròige.
An amazing day out for us and a great feeling to have completed what we regard as one of our most loved mountains.
