Finally someone is reviewing this guitar lmao, there's only a few small videos on it but they don't really demo the guitar all that well. Sounds awesome and this is one of the best tones I've heard on the channel so far too
I had the biggest smile when you played the beginning cleans of Admit Defeat. John Browne and Monuments were my introduction to djent in 2011 and to this day inspire a lot of my writing and how I mix music.
Played the 7 string version at Guitar Center today. Extremely comfortable, thin neck, plenty of upper neck access, and great action. It’s amazing how much better Schecter guitars are now - I owned a C7 Hellraiser back in 2009 and the Tao feels and plays far, far better.
Never played an 8 string but it is probably my favourite 8 string I have seen so far as it is very kind of minimalistic aesthetically which is what I prefer in guitars and I am not really a fan of shiny guitars either unless its something like a poplar burl like the Schechter omen elite 6 which I have in a shop exclusive finish I think its something like black or charcoal I can't remember what they called it.
is is weird that i’m left handed and have been playing RH guitars for years and when i picked up a lefty, it was a whole new world??? like how can you have the high strings on the top? that’s just trippy for me personally
This guitar is literally the best 8 string I have ever owned sounds killer with my axe fx !!! but mine didn’t come with a strap like yours not really a problem though lol amazing guitar 100% recommend
hey andrew! i've never played (or sen) a 8 string guitar, I have a question, do you use the first 2 strings?( i know you did on the video) But I was wondering if the thing about 8 strings, is more about saddle gauges in the bridge and nut, and scale length theat let you get tuning you cant get on a 6 string, or is it about versetality? So the actual question would be, can a 6 string baritone sub an 8 string, if you dont use the first 2 strings??
I wonder why I never see any big bands using Schecter live. Seem to still be really slept on, or looked at as cheap/not good when they’re the opposite lately and have really stepped up.
Maybe you can get an Omen Elite 8 Multiscale on the channel? I am currently using a Demon 8 with abasi pickups but I like the tension spread on my multiscale 7 enough to justify changing my main 8 out for a multiscale as well. Would benefit me to hear your opinion on it.
It looks like the cheap schecter 8 strings they make but with better features of course and I like how stripped down it looks no crazy bat inlays and shit like that
Yo, I don't think the strap comes standard. I have the 7 string version and it didn't come with it. Unless they forgot to pack it lol. Also, the nut was cut like crap. Good thing I don't plan on playing cleans with it or it would be a buzzy mess.
So i popped out to pickup tacos with this on my car’s bluetooth. So bumping this on 2x12” subs = lol in the drive thru line. Those people weren’t ready for john browne riffs.
More or less the same most of the time with slight tweaks depending on the guitar or playing with different impulse responses from time to time. I think I have posted them before but maybe I'll put together a pack of tones at some point in time.
Bout time we saw a no-inlay guitar from Schecter.. I don't understand why guitar companies bother with inlays, it's less work and materials to not have them and looks 1000x better. I can understand "The Rose Of Life" by Ibanez J customs that usually have them, that's decorative, but the dot, shark inlay, 12th fret only inlay just look like deliberate mistakes, I feel like screaming to the manufacturers "Imagine just NOT doing that".
Can you try and re frame your review videos? I realize the guitar is supposed to be the focal point, but it's weird listening to you talk with half your forehead cut off lol. Other then that I love your vids man!
Having all those guitars just to mash the same chords and never do lead is like a Piano player having dozens of pianos but says he doesn't play with both hands cuz it's too hard. Then like, why even bother with so many if can't even use a single one of them to their potential?

8-string guitars seem to always sound better if I’m listening to someone else play.
yeah its that whomp of the low string
@@timsportsman3171 I love the sound but I couldn’t make it sound good.
@@johnsguitarmusicanddemosMaybe you need to hit the thick strings harder

Arc Gojira is an amazing plugin
I can not express how much i appreciate that monuments riff at the start. That is my favorite band and john is my idol. Great video!

That Monuments intro was siiiiiiiiiiiiick
Finally an 8 string with no Inlays! Thanks Schecter, John and Andrew of course
No inlay boards for life seriously!
Don’t get why it’s so rare especially on extended range guitars. Side dots are all you need.
100%, we need A LOT more production guitars without fretboard inlays!
Lol and no inlays is a dealbreaker for me, I guess everyone is entitled to its own opinion
The demo/cover turned out great 🤘
Been waiting for this one as I have my eye on this axe! Did not disappoint 🤘🏼
I got to try one yesterday and I can confirm it is EXCELLENT, Schecter is really stepping it up the past year or so😂😂

i love shecter and this channel, good combo
Great job with the cover Andrew! And thanks for the review.
ooooo but that price tag... insane guitar though and great tunes as always🤟
The price isn’t to crazy

Well... Add another one to my ever growing list. Killer review 🤘💀🤘
The split coil on that thing sounds meeeeeaaaan
Wow, it looks DOPE!! 😮
That's a sick tones probably bmake any guitar sound good but it's nice love the finish on the neck
Please do a review of the Schecter C-8 MS SLS ELITE EVIL TWIN 🙏🙏🤘

Cool video dude!
I got my first guitar without the inlays a few weeks ago. I don't know what I was so worried about. I don't even notice.

*I'd purchase one of these over a dining table.*
Yoooo, you gonna share that gojira preset with us? 😅 Because my 8 strang don't sound that guud 😩
Great video. Can you tell me what tuning machine you use to tune the 8-string guitars? Thanks.
Regular tuner does the job. (: I tune my 5 string bass using a clip guitar tuner. :D
Great vid! I've been waiting for some good videos of these guitars :) How does it compare to other non-Schecter 8 strings?
you’re my favorite 8 string from schecter ever❤❤
The main reason I don't like satin finishes is that it becomes glossy under the wrist after several years 😂
Do you use the same Gojira presets on all these demos and would you ever consider posting them?

My Tao-8, did not come with the guitar strap🙈🙈
why are strings so close to the bridge?:O for bittier tone? more gain? clarity?
Would you ever review a Spector bass?
Yes.

Haha maybe, I didn't really think too much of it
Where did you get that distant hoodie it's sick sick review to
Just from their webstore, thanks!
Crazy I always believed swamp ash was heavier /Mahagony? 🤷
I'm disappointed that he left Mayones for Schecter, as I much prefer Mayones over Schecter as a brand.
But this one looks sick!
Ouch 😢

Nice, don't see a cover of Origin of Escape everyday.
pretty tight but surprised it doesnt come with evertune stock.

I own the 6 string and i play HARD like John for hours a day and haven't had the guitar go out of tune . Honestly I'm SHOCKED it hasn't.
5:12 Buszy :D
You know
how does the neck joint feel compared to other bolt ons. It looks really nice and minimalistic
I have one of these...the neck joint feels smooth and nowhere near "in your way" . Best neck on an 8 string I've felt to date
Of all the companies that STOLE my peghead, at least Schecter did the best job of stealing it :O)
I want one so bad! 😭
Green ftw
Good tone. But your right hand doesn't seem to have the bone-crushing power that John's has. You need to start training with a 100-lb pick
I don't think anyone can match his right hand technique haha
What is the amp on the full demo mix?
the cleans tho
Schetcher is just killing it for the last few years.

Cuz it fun
Best sounding 8 string you’ve demoed in a while. The Ernie Ball 8 tone was kind of whack, but this is exactly what I’d look for in an 8 string.
IMHO it should be multiscale
It'd be cool but John isn't big on multiscales
Jesus….8 string AND baritone. Where are we headed? Bass guitar only bands next?
