I actually like this ending. Not emotionally, but thematically. It's really unsettling and denies us closure, but because of that we're forced to think about what the show had been about all along. TAWOG was always a kind of spoof on its own premise. Half of the comedy came from the characters being uncomfortable with the trappings of their own genre. This was just the point in the story where that underlying anxiety finally took off the Groucho Marx glasses and stared you in the face. I can't remember the last time any show (let alone an animated children's sitcom) was willing to switch genres in the last minute just to make its viewers think a little, and I find that special.
After watching Learning With Pibby trailer, Rob’s goal is starting to become more clear. Changing everyone to live-action characters so they can escape the world of animation before they get consumed by the void (Or glitchy plague)
Here's a theory: every cartoon in cn that are either ended or cancelled will be eaten by the void. Since rob is aware of this and the world of gumball is ending, he tried to change their appearance or a sort of "reboot" to revive the world and save them from the void. Together, we could transform those worlds, save them from destruction, and give them new life." And it merges with rob, turning him into the void whisperer. Rob, now the void whisperer, climbs from the pit, and transforms the world of gumball, pulling people into the goo, assimilating them, and transforming them into hollow versions of themselves. After almost completely absorbing the world of gumball (including the wattersons, yes, even nicole) he causes so much chaos that the world breaks, causing a tear in reality, allowing the goo to slip into other worlds, such as Steven universe, powerpuff girls, adventure time, Dexter's lab, and craig of the creek. actually every episode in tawog happens in a different dimension, so while this one was destroyed the others must be fine. it's just a theory but i think this is true since gumball has killed his classmates lots of times but they keep coming back, like if the next episode was in a different dimension.
@@informanteRP they keep comming back not because it'sa diffrient universe but because it's literally cartoon logic, gumball and others have done multiple things to bend reality even in this episode, and casually comming back from dead is one of does things, and I don't mean it in a way of "It's just a cartoon" the show literally is tellling us this is a cartoon and characters in this world sometimes can do ridiculous things. And there is some sort of continuity so I don't think that every episode is a diffrient universe
informante not really there's a lot of episodes where they are implying that they are just cartoon characters for example there's a weird episode (I don't remember the name) where the signal of the TV fails for different reasons and then everything becomes a chaos of misunderstanding between gumball and Darwin the episode ends with them realising that they are just cartoon characters so basically in this episode they probably know about this, that's why the use the toon force (cartoon logic) to make everyone back to normal

I completely forgot until you pointed it out; but if Barbra can alter the future through the paintings, why didn't she do so sooner to prevent this from happening?
The more you think about it, the more fucked up this ending becomes. that hole grew to consume the entire world, which means Gumball, Darwin and the rest of the family were eventually consumed by it too.
Has anyone noticed the music in the end of this episode? It sounds kinda like bells ringing. "The Inquisition" is the final episode of the entire Gumball series and Rob was finally defeated in it, and he fell in the void where he was in the episode "The Void" before he escaped from it in "The Nobody", which means he has never been seen again since.
0:17 everyone’s talking about the ending music in the very last scene but oml can we talk about how they make us think it’s the end of the episode by using the end credits music and then suddenly change it?
Interestingly, the end credits theme remix that played at the final moment of the show doesn't play its last note. Since we know that there's a movie coming, it could have to do with the movie being set when the Void swallows all of Elmore.

its crazy.. If they ever continue Pibby they should add Rob because im pretty sure he didnt die.. he just got sucked into the void with the rest of elmore with no escape which seems far worse than death to be honest.
Yeah, the Season 2 Finale ended with Gumball saying the only way to escape the angry citizens (and Santa Clause) was if time was reset by some kind of magical device, but we never see this device and the episode ends. Then, in the first episode of Season 3, the Wattersons are all fine and dandy. *What just happened!?*
I think rob went knocked out and waked up in the void version of gumball where no one has been seen except rob and the void start breaking in the school and the reason why the void starts crumbeling bc its the scary ver and rob falls in the void and.... Edit:The world has been restarted by the void who killed rob so rob will never appear in the next season
It is even sadder when you remember Rob is a kid like Gumball and had to leave his family in the void he is homeless he can't get a job,he has nothing to lose. But he still is trying to save Elmore.
In the Nobody I believe he said he didn’t have a family, and then it was stated later in the series that he had no family or friends, which is even more depressing.
Before Rob even noticed, The whole entire city of Elmore began falling into the void. Everything in Elmore fell into the void and disappeared. People, cars, buses, trees, houses, buildings, planes, helicopters, boats, All of it just fell right into the void. The whole city of Elmore fell down into the void. When the city fell entirely into the void, a large white explosion happened and a large white light shined from the hole where Elmore used to be. Everyone inside the void has no idea how to escape, but what they do know is that Rob was actually trying to save them, but it was already too late.
no its even sadder when you realize he had no family at all, hes just living life.. who knows how he got into school but he was always a background character and never noticed. Shoot i’d become a villain too if I got thrown down a manhole and then my fate was to be forgotten and thrown into a void
Rob didn't want this... Rob didn't wanna end like this... Rob didn't want to become like this... Rob didn't want to die but he screamed.. to his *D E A T H.*

And there is some sort of continuity so I don't think that every episode is a diffrient universe
informante not really there's a lot of episodes where they are implying that they are just cartoon characters
for example there's a weird episode (I don't remember the name) where the signal of the TV fails for different reasons and then everything becomes a chaos of misunderstanding between gumball and Darwin
the episode ends with them realising that they are just cartoon characters
so basically in this episode they probably know about this, that's why the use the toon force (cartoon logic) to make everyone back to normal
Don't put fan fic into this
He wanted to convert their world to live action to keep their series going maybe for a moive

Interestingly, the end credits theme remix that played at the final moment of the show doesn't play its last note. Since we know that there's a movie coming, it could have to do with the movie being set when the Void swallows all of Elmore.

Man...learning is so fun am I right fellas?

Wait he dosen't have Darwin there he can help gumball save Elmore
yes
no its even sadder when you realize he had no family at all, hes just living life.. who knows how he got into school but he was always a background character and never noticed. Shoot i’d become a villain too if I got thrown down a manhole and then my fate was to be forgotten and thrown into a void
I remember when this show was hilarious and light hearted. But now it’s more dark and mysterious.
