As if being stuck out in the freezing cold overnight wasn't bad enough, Jon falls into a frozen lake being pulled down by wights for several minutes, then just emerges and rides a horse through a frozen tundra for hours and he's just fine.
Well, he has Stark blood and Dragonblood. He clearly has some magic of his own, just like Dany.
It’s not just normal swords that kill the whites. Jon’s sword is made of valerian steel. There are only a few left in this world. Dragon glass can also be used.

Well, there was an edit right before, so it must have been responding to something else they said.
Jon continuing to fight instead of getting on the dragon still makes no sense at all, years later. It's another example of D&D needing something to happen, so they write something nonsensical to get there and hope nobody notices.
Well... to be fair, it is consistent with Jon's dumb decision making.
1. The whole nights watch code thing since he was the only nights watch member and that's is " we are the shields that guard the men of the realm
2. Hero and honnor
3. Protecting others before himself so they get safety

Well his aim was obviously to get to the White Walker King. In his eyes, he saw the opportunity to get rid of the entire undead army and all the white walkers right before him. It's still dumb as he couldn't have possibly managed to get past all the undead, but it's not out of character at all.
Yall have cranked this series out. I'm so damn impressed. Honestly 8-1 through 3 as I'm sure you know now are still really great in my opinion. Everyone feels differently

It was poorly filmed, he was actually keeping the retreat until they mount the dragon.
It was really written poorly this scene. They could have at least made it look like Jon had no choice buh to keep them away buh trying to kill them whiles the was enough room to escape was really stupid
😅I feel like now they trying too hard to justify the negative comments instead of logically breaking down the motivations of the characters that lead to decisions. The army of the dead is difficult to defeat due to numbers how can you get to the white walkers when they don't reveal themselves except when its very dire? Also they are annoyed due to impatience... You're almost done just sit back and watch it play out yall lol

As blind as Sansa was to Joffrey’s flaws Arya was equally as blind to Ned’s. Sansa had to play a more political game to survive and Ned had too much “honour” to play the same game because he didn’t understand the rules or the strategy. If he had Sansa never would have been put in the position of having to try to save him. Arya would have made the same mistakes Ned did because she idolized him and refused to see that Ned died because Ned didn’t play the game. If Arya had been in KL she would have died just as quickly as Ned did. Sansa actually did nothing wrong. She lied to Robert to protect herself and Arya and maintain the political alliance with the Lannisters. She wrote to Rob to protect him and Ned. She begged for her father’s life and convinced him to confess in order to try to save him. What did Arya do? Nothing because there was nothing she actually could have done because she was just as naive as Ned and would have gotten all of them killed by doing or saying the wrong thing. You guys have always judged Sansa so harshly when she was a child but by all rights you guys should also judge Arya for getting Sansa’s wolf killed and running away instead of trying to help Sansa. She betrayed Sansa just as much as Sansa did her

I love how they didn't even need to prove to cersei in the first place that the white walkers were real, they couldn't cross the wall until they got a fucking dragon. Tyrion's plan was dumb as shit.

What was the point of going beyond the wall with normal swords instead of dragon glass? They can't defend themselves or others whatsoever. Regular swords cannot kill the army of the dead. It makes them more of a liability than anything else.
The White Walkers are only weak when a sword which is made from Valyrian Steel that's why
Jon was still fighting to buy time for the others to escape.
He was charging the opposite way, why didn't he stay near the dragon?

There's so much to dislike about the last two seasons, it seems they're being rather generous to the show, still.
Agreed they know people hate these later episodes and you can almost see them deliberately picking things apart to subtlety agree with the audience. It’s better if they have genuine reactions. That’s the whole point lol

what? I've never read the books, only watched the show. And if you were there when this aired there was already huge criticism about this season and this episode especially. The writing was just stupid. Most fans were just too stubborn to admit there was flaws. I remember that very, very vividly lol.

I get so tired of commenters telling new reactors "don't watch S7-8, I hated it, etc" let people form their own opinions not force yours before they even get their chance. And I have my problems and criticisms as well, but you I don't know if they will care about the same things so I won't force it on them before they get there. When they do reach certain points then I'll say my problems AND likes and they can agree or disagree.
And the mad people are the most vocal I know just as many people who didn't care for the earlier seasons and liked the later as I know people who are the opposite, but they aren't spamming in the comments "these seasons sukk you can really skip episodes, these will be a chore for you to get through but it picks up later, etc" this thing today of trying to force everyone to have your opinion is annoying I see it with Star Wars as well. "Watch these movies but skip these other's because I/ME/MY opinion of them is I hate em!" We got the opportunity to see those movies and this show w/o hundreds upon hundreds of people telling us what we should think about it beforehand and reactors deserve the same opportunity.
Hell I even seen people get mad at reactors who liked these later seasons and new Star Wars films and I would call that *childish* but that's an insult to kids they aren't even that hard-pressed as to get angry someone likes something they don't 😂

Jon didn't do anything differently than the show has already shown Starks do be brave.... and stupid at the same time. We've seen it with Ned, Robb, and Jon before do things that could be called brave or stupid or both. He did the same thing in Battle Of The Bastards fought with a army doomed to lose which basically was sentencing everyone on his side to death. Ramsey definitely would've killed anyone alive of those remaining houses and worse to Sansa...even brave little Lyanna he would've killed. Charging the army even if he didn't lose his horse? Was riding right into death which the commander never rides in like that. Yes some fight on the front lines sure but if your commander is the 1st death the battle is pretty much lost there. Jon ALWAYS has been the brave guy willing to die in battle it didn't matter if it was in this episode or S7 he'd have made the same decision if it was S1-6 "I'll hold em off while you go" is always his stance. Remember trying to kill Mance Raydor? Dumb idea probably wouldn't work but he's always willing to be the sacrifice. The show was just trying to weaken Dany forces as I knew going into the season would have to happen(and there was always the theory NK would kill and resurrect a dragon) because even w/o a full army 3 dragons alone are the same as her having reusable NUKES while the enemy doesn't even have guns. Aegon never had a huge army when he conquered the 7 kingdoms he had 3 dragons that made all the difference and they only were unleashed together once during the conquest. 3 full grown dragons could destroy the entire continent in less than a week, she had to lose 1 minimum. And no matter how she did it people would've disliked it.
List of the Stark’s stupid decisions so far: 1. Ned not getting more than a piece pf paper from Robert (honestly this one could easily not be on the list) 2 Cat releasing Jamie 3) ROB MARRYING 4) Sansa not leaving King’s Landing in two occasions 5) Maybe Sansa not running away from Ramsay on time 6) Jon going beyond the wall for proof.

HOW DID THE CREATURES WHO CAN'T SWIM PUT CHAINS ON THE DRAGON UNDERWATER????? They can only kill the wights with dragonglass and fire. Not just a regular sword.
This to me is one of the easier things to explain; the white walkers don't care about sacrificing a few wights to drop in the water and attach a chain, they don't need to resurface.

The Night King was changing all of Crasters sons into White Walkers and the Children of the Forest were kidnapping the First Man to turn them into White Walkers 😂😂😂

idk why ya'll so suprised abt Jon doing Jon Snow things. He is honorable beyond the point of no return coz none of us real people are that honorable. But Jon is next level. Thats exactly what i expected him to do. Dumb shit to put his life in danger to make sure everyone else is ok. and to quote Ramsey from some season "if ya'll thought this had a happy ending, you havent been paying attention" have you been paying attention to this show? When does it make it easy for you? But on the other side of the coin, I've been where you been watching the show and yelling at the screen "Jon get on the dragon!!!" coz I still want what i want lol
Yeah this episode has major issues which others have pointed out. Jon and the others would have had to been freezing out there at least a week before Dany could show up which is possible as long as they packed food and cuddled up at night lol. I wish the show would have made that more clear instead of making it seem Dany was just a few hours away. The first 3 1/2 episodes of season 8 are great though. You should watch episode 3 in the dark, though like I did. It's a dark episode, and that's the only way to see everything clearly.

@IAmJustR No Dragonstone is sorta close to Kingslanding. Just outside of that bay. Gendry, Ravens and Dragons don't teleport. In the books it still takes time for Ravens to arrive. Especially depending on weather and well winter is here

Alot of people get annoyed at jon maybe because his death was worse and basically broke the world in this episode the only reasoning i van come up with to explain his actions was to be what he always has been And that is a sheild to protect the men of the realm .. so i guess he was fighting to help the others on the dragon.. because the whights can be dangerous so mair and sofie are wrong there my biggest question is why did the night in king attack the one flying and not to Drogon dany was on it was closer maybe plot armour on Drogon

IN MY OPINION, it is the worst episode of the series. The sheer stupidity of this episode is astronomical.
When we did go beyond the wall, it should have been a whole season adventure also! They should have had to have some of those experiences that have been talked about since the beginning.
Sad, because this could have been one of the most interesting and intense parts of the series but yeah this is what we got so..

I love how the night king decided to kill the flying dragon hundreds of feet away. Instead the bigger dragon sitting right in front of him.
Dragons are always more susceptible to far away attacks due to their senses.

Sophie is 100% right, the whole wall mission thing, was utterly stupid. This will never happen in the books it makes no sense no matter how you look at it.
Martin would never write this, mark my words. This is one of the writing choices, that speak volumes of how you can't replicate G.R.R. 's writing. Its night and day. Even fantasy worlds need more realism than this. But alas this is not the only writing problem in the last seasons.
Mair is also right about dumb things. Let's summarize the dumb things in all of this.
1. Going beyond the wall for this mission? Dumb
2. Fighting a Dead platoon and killing the Walker kills all of the wraiths except one? Super convenient and insanely dumb.
3. Sending Gendry to teleport and save them without a weapon and Danny receiving the message so fast and teleporting in literally few hours from that distance? Dumb
4. Jon keeps fighting so pointlessly when they should all be hurrying to leave? Dumb
5. The Dead getting those huge chains out of thin air, in such a desolate place? Dumb
So yeah new record on dumb and dumber.
Argh no number 2 was explained that whitewalker Jon killed didn't turn that other whigt .. as for the whole raven thing getting to Dany you don't know how much time actually passed cause it did go day to night then to day again it's like back in season 1 episode 1 time was skipped then to but we do know from other resource that dragons do fly faster then ravens it's what Jace said
And as for Jon like made a comment the only reason is he was fighting the dead to protect the others
@@joshuasutton355 I am well aware m8 but it doesn't change the fact that the one wight was too convenient to be bought by the audience. Simply too hollywood-convenient, which makes it fake.
Yes the dragons are faster but she still had to receive a raven to learn the news, which makes it even more impossible to be all done on the same day (both journeys plus Gendry's journey. So its basically 3 consequent journeys on same day. Too much teleport man.). Why do you think in the first seasons these kind of messages took ages to arrive to make the story go on? Because they simply needed more time and that's how it was in the books as well. They took weeks and months.
Yeah, plus one of the dead getting surrounded the way that one did was stupid. It wouldn't stand in the middle of a circle of dudes with swords, it's a freaking wight. It would go straight at the first guy it saw whether he was holding a sword or a lollipop.
@@kobarsos82 Agreed, the show goes from being a uniquely character/world driven story to a weekly major cable network blockbuster series. The first 4-5 seasons were amazing, and part of what made them that way was that you could never have guessed things like Ned losing his head, the Red Wedding, Oberyn's death, etc.. Those things just don't happen on television. The later seasons become increasingly more contrived. Holes in reasoning, logistic nonsense, plot armor, dropped/abridged character motives and arcs, "noble sacrifices", abound. I strongly suspect that the stuff that doesn't feel like bad writing in these seasons are the few plot points Martin made clear to the showrunners. It's like they replaced George RR Martin after season 5 with the writers of the Fast and the Furious.... actually.... did they?
yes, you be the judge...this is a show that always didn't do what the audience wanted and some people aren't happy with the way it didn't end the way they wanted.

The difference is, when things went differently than how we expected, there were logical reasons for it and it made sense. At this point, all the characters are stupid, the situations they find themselves in are totally contrived, and the way events unfold are contradictory to the themes that the show was built on. It's like watching a completely different show with the same actors and a bigger CGI budget.
I thought seasons 7 and 8 were very similar for many reasons so if you're enjoying this you'll probably enjoy most of the last season.
Bran is the villain in this whole show, from season 7 Bran is the bad guy period, because what do you me you have the f***ing third eye and you can see the past future and present, and you did NOTHING!!!! NOTHING?? bro you’re basically God
Honestly, I might be one of the few but I actually enjoy the entire series including season 8. At moments was I pissed, absolutely but it made sense the longer I sat on it.
Me too. Things did make sense, they were just rushed. I knew it was going to be rushed, so my head filled in the blanks. I was only mad at D&D for getting burned out and not giving us what they should have. But that's life.

I'm sure it's been said but, for one, not everyone was on the dragon yet and for two, the knight king was right there. You can end a lot of you kill the other knight king

It's actually good if you pay attention but people just get emotional about it instead. And to note of course they can't just go kill the Walkers, how do you expect them to get past the 100,000 soldiers? The Walkers are purposefully keeping themselves at distance. The only reason Jon killed 2 is because he was able to fight them up close 1 on 1. They are not going to put themselves in those spots or just let people walk up to them when they have 100k dead soldiers. lol
Game Of Thrones doesn't take a turn in season 8. People get butt hurt because they predicted where the story goes and it doesn't go where they thought it would so they call the the writing bad.

It went nearly as I expected, but could have been much better. Unfortunately they had side TV projects they wanted to keep in the works even though none of them ever came to fruition. Anyways, you can trust me when I say that the ending of WInds of Winter is so much better. Still, season 8 is overall pretty good.
It doesn’t flop at all, maybe a few deaths towards the end were a let down but enjoyed the rest for sure

Just because they know how to kill them and Jon has killed them doesn’t mean they can walk through a hundred thousand dead people to get to the numerous white walkers that seem to stick together that each have super human strength and can shoot dragons out the sky. Loving y’all…BUT if it’s just gonna be a bitch fest about how dumb every little thing is I’m gonna need to move on. Everyone is free to have their own opinion but letting your anger about one or two things you don’t like snowball into bitchin’ about everything isn’t enjoyable at all. I lived thru that nonsense when this originally came out…not fun. Just recognize the show is going to go where it’s going to go. Now that being said the Littlefinger storyline coming up next is the dumbest thing in the entire series but most people cheer. I’m interested to see if your critical thinking caps will be on for this or is it only when things aren’t going well for characters you like. Hopefully y’all got all the over hyped complaining out in this episode cause it’s gonna be too much to listen to going forward and maybe you should just stop watching now but admit it you love the show just like all the haters do as well which is why they keep commenting on reactor vids 😂😂😂. Just try to see the reasons you fell in love with the show to begin with. Like a marriage, enjoy the 80% that goes well and try not to hold a magnifying glass up to the 20% that disappoints.
I liked seasons 7 and 8 but I just feel like they were rushed. Probably because they no longer had content from George R.R. Martin to go off of because he hasn't finished the books yet.
Tbh it's been going downhill since season 5. It's just that there are still strong and shocking parts of the show in between the weak parts. But they've ruined the Dorne storyline, especially with the dumb rescue mission with Jamie and Bronn, and then ruined Tyrion and Varys' characters by making them useless, Highgarden falling so easily like it's just a small town even though it's one of the strongest castles in that world owned by one of the wealthiest family, etc. Season 8 might be the worst, but it still has some strong parts so I'll still keep watching your reaction.

Dumb writing gets frustrating too often in this show from season 5 on reaching a crescendo in this and next season. Still quite a spectacle though.
Season 8 isn't as bad as some make it out to be. Yes, It was rushed. That's obvious. They changed some things that was meant to happen in the books. And it wasn't for the better. BUT, the show DOESN'T end. HBO "ended" it the way they did because GoT is a cash cow now. They're just milking it for the money. It'll return.
