Hey, great review! Regarding your disappointment with the crossover: I haven't read ACOTAR (yet?) and it would have been so strange if she added random characters that I didn't know, to the already too high number of characters that were Bryce's entourage. I'm glad she didn't "introduce" even more characters in the last book. Edit: also the Ithan storyline annoyed me so much it hurt, and instead of bringing Bryce the antidote on time he needs to bury the old prime for 3 effing hours!!!!!
I agree. Like Sjm didnt know what to do with the countless characters that she introcuded from the first two books. Thats why the crossover was not properly hyped. About Bryce and Hunt I doupt if they are real l mates or two people who happened to share from the same pain that causes the loss of a loved one and confronted each other
Thanks you for your review. I liked the same parts as you and disliked , disappointed, bored with the rest of the book. My favourite part in CC3 was Baxian and his love for Danika. I really had the hope for her return. That was my biggest disappointment I think.
I’m really intrigued by what you mean by that. I feel like there was definitely a huge disconnect from her past writing style. I reread heir of fire after reading HOFAS and I was shocked by how much more invested and excited I was to read a book I had already read! Do you mean you think she wanted to be writing an acotar book?
@@alicianichols6757 It felt like she knew she had to write this because of future plots but she just didn't seem that excited about it from the tone and description of her writing. May be because her CC books aren't as popular as ToG and ACOTAR?
I agree. I want to hear you say more. It had never crossed my mind that maybe she just wasn't invested in writing this book. Like maybe she had to write it because of a deadline?
I can see how House of Flame and Shadow is the weaker of the 3 novels. But it is still good. I think the cross over was done in a way that of a ACOTAR fan doesn't read Cresent City it won't impact their ACOTAR. I agree. I could do without Bryce addittude towards Hunt. She was just flat out rude. It's my way or the Highward and you need to suck it up or get out if you don't follow me blindly. Is just uncalled for. I like her over all but she can be such a horrible witch.
I'm so sorry this book was such a disappointment (umm...800+ pages is A LOT of disappointment 😒). As always, your commentary is THEEE BEST! (chef's kiss! 🤌)

I DNF'd because I got the vibe that this book was not the one SJM wanted to write

Thank you! 🥰 Yeah, it probably took me three times as long because I just wasn't into it! 😂
