  • Take a tour of the Dayton Grand with me in the heart of downtown Dayton. This place seems fairly new and sadly not much decay. But I do discover some really cool things inside. I hope you enjoy.

The ground floor of that hotel is absolutely beautiful. I'm sure there was probably a very good reason you didn't include that in this video. Hopefully the hotel will come back to life. It would make a great apartment building.

My son worked in Dayton years ago , and took me around to see the downtown, because I had never been there. This is sad, what a mess...

Dayton's skyline for a city it size is quite impressive. But downtown is empty these days, and that was before Covid-19. Dayton could still turn it around and become an attractive city for new business and innovation, but it needs to do a few things...
Follow Detroit's example of simply destroying and removing old abandoned houses and buildings. Some of the structures have been vacant for decades. This would help lower crime and add massive curb appeal. Greenage looks much nicer then run down boarded up houses and businesses.
      2. Really sell it'd downtown. Mayor Whaley has done a decent job of this, and I think getting rid of the yucky parts of town will only further sell Dayton to recent college grads and new tech companies. The downtown has great potential to be vibrant with it's wide streets, biggish buildings and beautiful stadium and river area.
The problem of course is where does the money come from to do this?

I didn't see any evidence that it was a crack den, as the heading indicates. And you're right, if someone is gonna squat there, treat it like a home and clean up after yourself

Click Bait. Zero evidence of crack den, or even homeless peeps. All the food garbage is from the last workers in the building...who would think crack heads or homeless would have take out luncheons for 12 ? All that trashing was from working class folks.
