Very sad.... attended many concerts and car shows during my youth and young adult life... plus all the Bill Goodman gun and knife shows in later years.... Alot of good memories...
I grew up about two miles from this place and saw a lot of concerts and car shows. Just one more cool thing from the good old days gone, never to return... We actually snuck in, and even once broke in, to a couple of the concerts. That parking lot before a concert, especially in nice weather, was the coolest party you ever saw! I saw the Clash there! I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn there, I saw Neil Young, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, (with Ian Gillen singing) Aerosmith, (minus Steve Tyler and Joe Perry) Eddie Money, Sammy Hagar, Ozzy, and a whole bunch more!
I remember when there was a guy who got electrocuted somewhere on the roof top trying to sneak into a concert. This was back in the late 70's, early 80's...I was looking for the story and that brought me here..
@@johnboy1520 I remember that! Pretty sure it was a Charlie Daniels concert. The guy lost both of his hands, and when Charlie came back around on his next tour, he had heard about it and got the guy in for free.
AHHH good old Hara! I have MANY MANY memories in that place as do my husband (we are originally from the area but now live in Hawaii) If only those walls could talk!! so sad to see it looking like that!!

New sub from this video.I've been a Daytonian all of my life and this brings back soo many memories. Sooooo many great shows happened there. Thank you so much for this video. Can't wait to see more of your videos.
The AC/DC "Back In Black" concert was one I will always remember. (9/23/1980) I seen them there 3 times 80, 85 and 88. I met a lot of NASCAR drivers at the Carl Casper car shows, that show gave us something to go in the winter.
I seen my first concert there and my last concert my first was Alice cooper Vinnie Vincent invasion was the opener And my last there was Kiss and Slaughter and a band called Little Caesar was the opener. Late 80’s and early 90’s
@@UrbexAndChillOlder arenas, such as this, weren't built with air conditioning. When it's hot, the cold air from the ice surface interacting with the warm air creates fog. It used to happen in a lot of older NHL arenas like the Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo and the Boston Garden when the teams would go on playoff runs that would last into May and June.
I can't be sure for certain, but I may have been here when I was little when my Dad took me to Hamfests before we moved from east-central Indiana to North Carolina. He has been into amateur radio for a long time. This really isn't far from where I lived in Connersville IN.
3:25 Gems vs. Ft. wayne komets '79-'80. 3:41 Gems vs. Milwaukee admirals '79-'80. Gems came back to reincarnated IHL 2008. then played in FHL as Dayton Devils for a few seasons after that. RIP hara.
Wow, what a place! I admit I hadn't heard of a Hara Arena before. This place is the stuff of legend - so how could it have been brought to such a critical state? Do you know the fate of its owner? Quite a house, by the way. Great exploration, super editing - I must have seen it seven times, unable to wonder why I was viewing such an iconic place from the perspective of an urbex fan and not as a still thriving building.
Spotlights. I used to run them there. Those boxy ones were from Memorial Hall and were moved there a few years before it closed to replace ancient carbon arc type lights. I ran those to but they were in bad shape by the time I started working there. Had one catch on fire on me during a Kid Rock show one night. Good times haha. I saw Nirvana here back in the day when I was still in high school. One of the best sounding rooms around for years. Miss it but it was falling down before the tornado put the nail in the coffin.
The owner was clearly a man of very poor taste. But I commend him for building a stone house. The way the garage doors were blown out, the tornado probably striped the house as well - but its still standing. Given the atrocious, borderline crime against humanity interior design, thats not necessarily a good thing, though. 😅

Glad to see it’s still standing. Visited over summer 2020 for the first time and it was incredible
If ruins could talk. I can only imagine all the awesomeness it beheld.
Especially with all the legends who passed through here

I love the edits at the beginning. Good job on this one
The news edits of the actual stadium brings nostalgia
Was my footage. Just used some news audio
Saw A Perfect Circle there in 2001..
what a great show that night.. felt like I was on the stage. Place was a Crackerjack Box.. absolutely amazing
I still have unused tickets to see Guns n Roses on Jan 1991 at Hara arena.
Had a bad snow storm and just couldn't make it.

Played a few hockey games here back in the day!! Always got super foggy in there, it was awesome.
Foggy? 👀

The Houston astro dome would create its own rain storms because of the glass roof
ECW rocked this place like nobody else back in the 90s
Wow that’s awesome haha
Don't forget it was also home to WCW as well.
RIP Hara Arena.
I saw Robin Trower open for Frank Zappa there almost 50 years ago

They did those every summer so I wouldn't be surprised if Hara was it
Those drone shots are cool. I didn't know how big the Hara Arena was.
Alot of it was a golf course and also a soccer field lol
I can’t believe that it stood abandoned for so long.
Glad it did
They had no money to destroy it the owners ran it down.
Dayton Gems IHL played in hara 60's thru mid 70's. reincarnated for one season 79-80. Won a few turner cups along the way. rip GEMS.

Quad City Mallards played many games there against the Gems.
Dangggg🙌🏼
❤️
Lee's chicken is the place to go in Connersville Indiana where I'm from!
Took my kid there 16 years ago when they had the care bears show.
I performed here with R.B.B.B circus in the 90s.
So sad. Used to go to the gun show here every year.
That place looks awesome
Saw a lot of bands there Pantera Dokken Judas Priest Dio and more best place to see a concert
Living in Cincinnati I use to hear ads for the gun shows at Hara Arena
This just saddens me. Hara Arena was murdered by greed and neglect. Died a lonely death.

Those tornadoes ruined our entire Miami Valley. It was freaking terrifying.
Awesome exploration!
Verry good video, i Love the edits 🥰
used to go to gun shows there as a kid. its a shame that its in this condition.
That’s cool! I used to go to the circus here.
"Bill Goodman's Gun & Knife Shows!
Got any guns or knives to sell?
Bring 'em to the show
Thousands of buyers will be there!"
Pretty interesting explore...✌🏻
Nice video. Any chance you can explore the Astrodome if you can?
I’m going to try

@Mungy Dungy That's why i said _if you can_

Tornado? Was that the F4 that hit in 2019?
somebody should just take a scan of all of these abandoned arenas so they can virtually live forever if it can't be saved before demolition
I wish they would. This one is gone now sadly
@@UrbexAndChill such a shame! because they did it with tha old North Wilkesboro racetrack where some people took a scan and put it in a sim
Are you using Sony cameras?
You should ask Bror Fredrik what he thinks about this.
I'm pretty sure those massive "cameras" are actually spotlights. It does look somewhat like the lens for a professional broadcast camera though.

In thevmansion- black & white checkerboard floor = freemason

need a good flashlight
Yeah I have one. It died in the video
lol

Didn't close due to a twister hitting it
Closed before that
The tornado was the coup de gras
I guess a exercise bike has no value...
