- In this video I explore a school with my good buddy @dark exploration films. This was our first stop on our Midwest road trip. This school was very clean but it was cool to see the stuff that was left behind. I hope you enjoy please give it a thumbs up and tell me what you thought in the comments.

I graduated from this school in 2003 and my dad taught there his entire career. It was a Catholic high school and closed in 2013 due to low enrollment. They started tearing it down a week or so ago due to the Bedford School Board’s decision I believe. Yes, there is asbestos but it was closed due to enrollment issues. Thanks for making this video. I loved seeing my dad’s classroom again (physics lab) and reliving memories.
Jennifer Gotch, I had your dad for a few of my math classes. He was a very enthusiastic teacher. I wish I had been a better student in his classes but music was all I was interested in at the time lol. In my two subsequent degrees since HS, I have never seen a teacher write new information on a blackboard (in this case algebraic formulas) while simultaneously erasing the previous information with his other hand-while also talking. If I remember correctly, your dad is a lefty so this was particularly efficient and beautiful. Lol

I went to school here. Never got to graduate from it because it closed right at the end of my junior year. It's amazing to see those halls again and relive some memories. Awesome to see that the backdrop from our very last musical was still standing as well. Great video.
@@brosh6257 It was a Catholic school funded by the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and basically they didn't want to pay for it anymore. There were lots of upgrades the school needed and that costed more than the diocese was willing to pay. There were efforts made by the school community to try and raise money but nothing really succeeded, unfortunately, considering it was one of the better schools in the surrounding area.

This is about the cleanest school I’ve ever seen!! So much great stuff left, but if contaminated with asbestos they might as well dispose of it. My sister taught school for 28 years with asbestos in her classroom. She was always sick with upper respiratory infections, strep, ect. all school year, but she was healthy all summer long. No cancer yet but she always worries. They tore that building down. Which is what they’ll end up doing with this school. It’s a shame because, though it may not be the most modern building, it’s still a perfectly fine one.

I graduated from here in 2012, i gotta know where did you find the pool?? We always joked about a pool being on the 3rd floor, but never knew there actually was one somewhere!
Edit: found out that was the pool from the ymca a few doors down that the swim team practiced at when we had one.
Still thank you for giving me one last immortal look at my high schoool. This place meant more to me for shaping who I am today.

Hi! I graduated from this high school in 2012. And since it is now being torn down. It was nice to see in the school one last time. You missed the best room. The Drama Loft behind stage. It had every play we ever did, and you would have seen students last signatures, after they graduated. (And yes it was a catholic high school. The priests lived on the third floor.)
And those steps at the end. I used to jump down those everyday for lunch. Like fully down. If I tried that now I would break my leg lol
Please don't go near Asbestos guys wear a mask. Breathing it will cause cancer. Great video, I'm surprised there is no Graffiti or vandelizem. That pinkish marble at the start was stunning. I wonder if they will reopen this school after removing the Asbestos? Thanks from Australia xx 🇦🇺🇺🇸💖
☼ yeah, i think it is a bit late. it is OK while solid, but the tiniest particulate in the lung - like when he opened the door marked "do not enter" w/the gaps bagged; yeah, thats bad. but not for quite some years. It does explain why so much even expensive equipment was left tho. it breaks into these tiny hairs - you cant just sterilize or anything. youd never get them all. any vents on isnt good either.
@@JCResDoc94 very true Jai. When it's airborne deadly, we had a big law suit here in Australia a while ago Cancer caused by Asbestos. Many passed away before receiving compensation really sad. I hope these guys are careful in future, it does like you said affect you maybe not today but it will eventually. Hugs from Australia
@@Judy.LoveandLightAlways ☼ Ive seen a few cases. it isnt just the rarety of the CA (like w/smoking, how primary lung CA pretty much doesnt exist in non smokers); in addition, often the particulate can be found w/certain scanning techniques.
Tho w/everything in medicine you have to be careful: once you say "i did explore abandoned buildings as a kid, some closed for asbestos.." you won't get proper investigations. Ppl are always in a rush to make square pegs fit round holes if they can. Even well meaning.
& one has to count the cases that arent caused: and how do you do that?
@@JCResDoc94 Doctors Always ask are you a smoker I answer no. (But I am a smoker) if you get a chest infection never tell Drs you smoke they won't investigate. You know Jai so many of my family, friends have passed away from leaukimia different cancers and they never smoked. Your very intelligent Thanks Jai. @@Judy.LoveandLightAlways ☼ Sorry to hear about your family. Diagnostic momentum is a dangerous thing. & Drs do judge smokers. If there is something to find, having the frame "smoker" never helps do anything but end investigations early.

I graduated from this school in 1986. It was a pretty great place back in the day and I formed life-long relationships during those years. It wasn’t the most updated school at the time but watching this video reminded me of all the beautiful vintage wood and tile in that building. Very awesome. And those glass block windows are beautiful. Of course I didn’t see any of that when I was a dumb high school kid-they were just halls and classrooms to me at that age. But I definitely grew up in that school. Plays, music, sporting events. My band at the time won 2/3 Battle of the Bands in that gym/auditorium! Heavy stuff. Thanks for your video. It was really good to see as it’s since been torn down. Seems like a waste.

Pretty unique high school. Must of been some sort of private or choice school if they had people living there.
It was a catholic highschool. I was a junior when it closed in 2013. The priest who started the school would live on the 3rd floor. It later became available for families in need or students in need

Hey, I went there before it closed.. it actually closed in 2013! Video made me sad 😢
Also, it closed bc of low enrollment and funding, there were like 60 people in my class!
Schools creepy when they're not abandoned. This 1 looks like it hasn't been abandoned for to long either. Y'all did a great job on investigating it too. Keep up the awesome work for real.👌😇👍

With all these charter schools wanting money to refurbish Storefronts and such why didn't one take over this school??? Insane! BUT taking out asbestos is costly and might have been too much for this private school to do! It costs between $10-20,000 for single-family homes alone! Wikipedia says it closed due to low enrollment and the high cost to run it.
That’s where the priest or nuns would stay with the beds. Eventually they rented it out to teachers and we would also stay there during religious retreat.
I've always wanted to explore a room full of asbestos. Now I have. And asbestos of all, I won't die.

Urbex And Chill This was my high school St. Peter Chanel. The archdiocese closed the school in 2013 because of too many consecutive years of low income. One or more of the Catholic feeder schools closed, so not enough students to pay for the school and teachers.
The skeleton room. Mr Muslovski’s class room. Biology and anatomy.
The second lab room “Einstein” room, was Mr Gotch’s room. I spent 3.5 hours a day in that room my Senior year taking math and physics.
What kills me is that my entire high school career there were never doors on the bathroom stalls. And then they put them on later!!!
