A lot of people I know don't understand this concept. Buy low. Buy when there's an oversupply. Buy in quantity.
      Recent example: Rice
I know people paying $2 for a 1 pound bag of rice.
I paid $10 for a 25 pound bag of rice. That means I spent 40 cents per pound of rice.

We refuse to shop at Walmart; the people working there are rude, the shelves are near empty, and the prices are sky-high. We have been shopping at Aldi, Publix and other stores for paper and household items--we watch the prices etc. Yes, the prices are rocketing, and I think it's all politically designed to do so. Just my opinion. Thank you for sharing--many of us are feeling the same.

Our Walmart always looks like they are 1 day away from closing down. Empty aisles everywhere. I am thankful that we get eggs from our ducks, have apple, plum and peach trees, one grape vine that yields over a hundred pounds of the best tasting grapes ever. We also put in a rather large garden. Home grown corn on the cob is the best. Home grown veggies that actually taste like veggies instead of that plastic taste from store bought. My son and I love to dig up our potatoes. I even showed him how you can grow potatoes in a 50 lb. dog food bag.

Right now, Spam and canned hams are about the same price they've been for months. I don't buy eggs at Walmart. The last time I bought some, I had to go through half a dozen cartons to find enough unbroken eggs to make a full dozen. The stock guy was just throwing the cartons onto the shelves. I also don't buy paper products at Walmart. My butt is one thing I treat well, so I buy Charmin' Ultra Plush at the grocery store when it's on sale. Walmart doesn't sell it. I don't buy meat at Walmart because they don't have butchers. All the meat comes prepackaged from a factory somewhere. At the grocery store, I only buy meat when it's on sale or it's marked down because of age. The freezers at home are full.
