    Brilliant video, again. Really useful for me even when I don't have a spraying booth yet. Always lots of gems in your video. I started to tack religiously and it really made a difference.

    Great stuff Tony , and yeah I love those Supernova’s , can’t wait to see the review on the new series 2… and btw seems like we’re swapping weather , down under we’ve had heaps of rain and it’s been cold very early in winter , guess that’s how it is lol

    Love you channel , thanks man , Got the Kiwami version , did a Dark blue Metallic on a 71 Chevy truck with a creme white top , Ditzler clear . My inflatable got so dirty on that job , had alot of help and alot of factors I couldnt control which I miss a booth for , especially in a cold environment.

    Booth maintenance is key, and you demonstrated how things should be done, too many body shop employees just don't care because employers just wont spend the required money and won't allow the time it takes to keep good house keeping in good order, thanks Tony 👌👍

    Lovely job Tony. I just wish I had a spray booth at all. In my case it just means I have to do more de-nibbing, and on occasion I will do a light full rubdown on the base before the clear if needed, dependingon the ambient conditions I spray in.

      Super accilex pads you want the yellow ones. Put a scotch bright sandwiched in between the accilex and you can rub down base before laying clear or even in between coats of base.

    I was taught to use paper over the pastic around the repair area as paper doesn't flap Round as much and specs of base and clear are less likely to flake off later In the job

    I use a extra slow here in Texas. A 20% cocktail keeps it open a bit longer for me.

    Will tacking off between coats of solvent move or mess the metallics up? I’m having problems with trash right now because of base coat blends.

    Hey Tony great video and live chat last night mate, after a quiet start it seemed to get going so I hope the figures were ok.
    The video was really interesting mate and have to say the job came out mint very clean and a great finish, there were some useful tips there mate most of which I do these days even in my little booth but I'm really happy with my results now compared to when I started. A lot of people say you shouldn't tack between coats of base but I find it helps a lot to keep the base nice and smooth.
    Don't forget to get Mia and your other little one (sorry don't know her name) an ice cream mate 😂🙏👍

    Always looking good 😁👌. Do you add any reducers to the clear when spraying at these hot weather situation?

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes mate on overly hot days this week ive added a splash of slow into it to slow down the flash off and help it flow out but in the warmer months when the clears thinner due to being warmer you don't tent to need to

    Tony was great. I have a question . Can this napkin be washed and reused?

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no its a tack cloth they cannot be washed and reused thy are pennys to buy

    • @masoodamg6633
      @masoodamg6633 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is very expensive here and car painters use it less. That's why they do not do well. I enjoy seeing it when you use it regularly. I think washing reduces its stickiness and can not absorb dust well. So you said it costs a penny there. Thank you Tony Magnificent

    You Brits crack me up: "My god man it's 30C". Dude I live in Phoenix, AZ. 86F, which is what 30C coverts to according to Google, is the LOW temperature we'll have today. Currently, at 4:10 PM it's 109F or 39C. What a bunch of sissies.

    • @JohnWD40TC02
      @JohnWD40TC02 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They say if you can cope with the UK's climate then you can live in any country, I'm in the UK and yesterday it was 32C outside and 40C in my booth but today it's 18C and only 14C outside, we have to cope with anything from -8 to -18 in the winter then up to 38C in the summer, if we had a temp of 30-40C all year round then it would be easy to live with, I recon you should come live in the UK for 10 years I think you would be pleased to get home 😘🤭

    • @satamanschmidt3428
      @satamanschmidt3428 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JohnWD40TC02 You're right about that. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA which has a crappy climate like England's. Decided I needed to see the sun more so I moved to Phoenix. It's hot as hell for four months out of the year but just about perfect the rest of the time. It hasn't rained in at least six months and we only get 7 inches of rain a year when we are not in a drought as we currently are here in the desert Southwest. We have a perfect climate for painting. 10% humidity and it's warm most of the year. Slow to Super Slow activators and reducers are the norm here.
