      Good morning , I don't think it's the best training method, Mathias mixes too many bodybuilding exercises, a sprinter doesn't need many derivatives of bodybuilding workshops to improve his speed, we just have to ask for the adequate muscles which promote the improvement of speed, there are standards required in bodybuilding, in particular the cyclical work concerning the speed in bodybuilding, the power, the strength and at the end the explosive force near the competitions, also it must respect: the number of series, repetitions of series for each aspect developed and especially the recovery time which is different according to the Sine quanone equation: Strength = power / speed Also there must be perfect synchronization between the upper limbs and the lower limbs of the athlete, if the torso is more developed than the legs this will surely create an imbalance and prevents gaining enough speed by putting the center general gravity forward. Matias' strides do not have an easy amplitude to propel when reaching maximum speed.

    When you're in the gym, do you emphasize strength or explosiveness? Strength in general does not always translate to more speed, how do get so explosive then? Does that come just from mixing your strength training with lots of jumps and sprints?
    Great video!

    • @hovejoha
      @hovejoha  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks!
      The freelap system seems to be about 0.5% - 1% faster (for 30m) than the Brower system indoors, and also there might be a little bit more inaccuracies by my feeling.
      Outdoors the freelap system seems to work better than it does indoors, but I don't have much data to compare outdoors.

    Do you do anything spesific to increase your hip flexor strength? I remember in a documentary they found that the best sprinters had one vital difference vs second best sprinters and that was the size of the hip flexor muscle.
