    I've been saving scrap copper for years. A few years back I got into smelting my copper scraps to save space. Now I've got a huge stack of approximately 1 kilo copper bullion bars and a large pile of assorted hand poured rounds. Thanks as always for your videos Mr stateside

    Last year i bought a 1 AVDP oz of copper for $14.99. Its a recreation of a 1933 double eagle. Why did i buy it you ask? My wife insisted, since i hadnt bought anything for myself during our vacation. I know copper was probably less than $4/lb at the time, but its easier to just smile and say yes, than to try and explain how horrible a deal i got.

    I've stacked up over 10,000 copper cents (pre-82). I have some wheat cents as well. I also have a couple hundred Indian Head cents. Other than that my copper is in Nickels I get in change. I do not have any bars, rounds or anything of that nature in copper bullion. I do think they are cool and I would like some for novelty but as you said I wouldn't pay the premiums. The reasoning behind such is because I prefer to buy Constitutional silver or silver art bars/rounds. If i'm not buying that, I'm usually hunting down 10k/14k gold jewelry to stack some gold away for cheap.

    Hey Stateside, thanks for the vlog! Nice large cents. I love those numismatic coins. I've only got the really expensive stuff left for my type set. It's definitely going to take some time before I delve into those. Saw 2 different draped bust dollars at a coin show last weekend. I asked the price, but knew I was not ready to pay the amount they were going to ask for them. Had to ask anyway.

    That’s what I do. I save any pre-1982 pennies I acquire and every so often, I find some in the cash drawers where I work and I swap them out with change in my pocket. I found quite a bit of wheat pennies just this past years. You’d be shocked about how ignorant the average consumer is about numismatics. They only see the denomination, but you can use that to your advantage if you play your cards right. 👍

    I love copper rounds. Most of my favorite Silver rounds have the same round made in copper. Same design, really can look nicer, but for $4 instead of $30. I like to give them out to special people that I meet. 2A people, Dog people, Trump people. People that are wearing a shirt, have a bumper sticker, carrying openly, have a cool dog, I have a cool copper round for them. It is fun to surprise people, especially for the dog owners, because the dogs only behave as well as their owners train them.

    Have you noticed the amount of mutilated quarters and dimes lately? I have a friend who purchases these types of coins at a discount. They are coming from China.
    Back in the mid 1800's China used to file down the edges of silver dollars and such. They are doing this again shaving off the reading and then mutilating them to keep the value of the coins. A cheap but tedious process to get free copper and nickel

    Folks if you want copper, why not bronze. You can find it at thrift stores, flea markets or better yet go yard sailing for this decorative bronze in many different forms and shapes at very affordable prices. Now if I just wanted copper only then how about tubing or even different usable fittings that are used around the house for future uses. There are always better and more affordable options than these collectible copper rounds or bars that will always carry a premium when buying and selling.
    Don’t forget that our sovereign cents that we mistakenly call pennies are worth three times their face value as-well as the collectable side. Oh yes the government is now changing the copper content of our sovereign cents/pennies.

    • @sailfly2869
      @sailfly2869 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MattMcCormack-f3e What you haven’t noticed is that the price you are paying for this novelty copper as well as do you really think in times of crisis you maybe selling it only by weight and if selling it back to a LCS there definitely there will be premiums involved. Probably with a negative premiums. Yes reselling nicknacks the sell price is probably going to be ten times or higher versus these novelty copper rounds or bars. Like I mentioned before cents/pennies maybe your best bet to stockup on since the US Mint is going to a more affordable metal in place of what we call copper pennies/cents. Your choice, for me I’m into making real money and not silly-putty or Play-Doh.
