I have a 98 yamaha waverrunner, was my dads. still in perfect condition. it turns over still but wont start. been sitting for 10 years but we keeped mineral oil in the pistions. gonna replace the starter to see if thats the issue and then rebuild the carburator
Check for spark and gas if you have good compression that’s all yky need for it to run Yamahas tent to loose spark if the start stop switch goes bad. But check all that before you take the starter out. If the motor turns over freely without a problem your starter is good
@@backyardprojects. yea thanks for the advice, i seen a video were it show you can disconnect the switch to see if its bad, ill try that first, it only a issue with it starting, so if i can get it were its cranks, ill do a carb rebuild
Don’t run water to it until it’s running, nice score hangs on to it
The pump housing have a sleeve in them and when it starts to rust underneath it will bubble up the metal and cause the prop to stick
My prop got stuck the other day and had to put a wrench on it , ordered a new jet pump from jet ski international and now to ride it another 20 yrs
Oh yeah I hate how difficult is to get pumps unless you buy form big companies

@@backyardprojects. only use OEM Mikuni kits for the carbs. Check OSDparts for the kits
Don’t forget to replace all the fuel lines also when you do the carburetor rebuild!
Just did the same thing few days ago picked up a 08 kawasaki $550 they said seized motor pump was locked solid fired right up

All you got to do is rebuild the pump part off its easy
Was gonna do that but the wearing was too far gone and same thing with the impeller so I went ahead and bought another pump
