I’m determined to have all of my products be black owned in the next 6 months. I’m already on the melanin band wagon but I didn’t know shea moisture and mane choice were no longer black owned so I have to finish those up.
The Mane Choice is still majority Black owned and is still operated by Courtney, the founder. She sold a minority of shares to a conglomerate, but now owns the majority of the conglomerate, so I personally wouldn't consider it a small Black owned or 100% Black owned, but still worth supporting. Shea moisture was just sold, so it's not Black owned at all anymore.
Just shut up and take my money 😂😂😂 well at least it would be going to a black owned business. I am seeing a nice shift being brought on by the blacklivesmatter movement where black people are becoming more mindful about supporting black owned businesses. I love it!!!! we stick together and support each other and there is no telling where this will take us! I do love how you are always an ambassador for melanin hair care. I hope one day you guys can do a collab together!

I'm just a bit disappointed that a lot of black owned brands are not only expensive but in smaller quantities. I'm glad about Melanin haircare because even though (International) shipping is expensive, the products come in 16oz with an exception to the oil. There's also a Nigerian brand on instagram that sells 16oz products called zebellecurlnaturals. I'm thinking of purchasing from them soon.
