Yo, the picture in picture deal you did when explaining how you take the wiring apart was pretty "youtube genius". Just makes it so much easier to understand. Nicely done. I sub'd!
Great demo install, Jose! I have the same light that I got to replace the oem fixture on my 2016 883. Been looking for a good video to use for reference and yours was the best by far. Keep up the good work and I’ll be watching 👍🏽👊🏽👏🏽🤘🏽👌🏽
Did your rear signals still flash after installing these? I have the exact same front LED ones that i just installed. They work perfectly fine. But for some reason now the back ones just turn on and stay solid when I put the signal on. They don't flash anymore. Idk why?
I put ones that looked identical to those on my 2000 model 883 last year. They weren't plug & play for me. I needed to use a couple of 25W load resistors to get them to work properly. They work great at night. Could do with being a big bigger & brighter during the day though. They do look cool. I went to the bolt shop & got some stainless bolts, acorn nuts & washers. I mounted mine under where the stock mirror go, I got bar-enders. These blinkers aren't road legal in Oz, though I've gotten away with having them so far.
@@wanaraz No, the led's use fa power compared to bulbs. The load resistors compensate for that. I couldn't get my blinkers to work without them. Quite a few of the more expensive led conversion kits you can get come with load resistors already.
@@ant4812 I don't know what FA power is but these load resisters compensate for it? It is interesting this guy got his to work and you did not. I guess it's hit or miss. How do you know what load resister to get?
@@wanaraz fa is fuck all.I ain't no electrician so I can't explain how it works any better than that the led's use way less power than the incandescent bulbs do - they generate less load. I guess the blinker control unit can throw a fit if it doesn't detect the right amount of power in the circuit. The load resistors add extra load and kinda fool the blinker control unit into believing nothing's changed and it still has the old bulbs. I think I went & got 10 Watt ones first, but they weren't working for me. Then my electrician mate said "go back & get the biggest ones you can". I got a pair of 25W ones. Those work fine. btw my bike is a year 2000 XLH883. Not sure if it's electricals are identical to the OP's bike.
I’m only in the first 4 minutes of video and I’ve liked and subscribed already. You’re very detailed and awesome camera footage with explanation. Great job
When you did the install they were both going to the right of the stem and nut. When you did the demonstration they were symmetrical and both going towards the grip. Looking at the shape it doesn’t appear like you took the nut off and flipped it. How did you do that?
You’re right, I realized after I had “test” fitted them up (which I filmed) that one was facing the wrong way so I did have to take it off and reposition it so that they were facing the right way. A lil “movie magic” post install. Thanks for watching 👍🏽
Hey Jose nice work and great info. You're saving others a lot of trial and error. I have a question for you, how'd you know which wire was for the running lights, blinker, and ground for both the new and existing?
Thanks, I have a service manual and also looked up a few other videos. I did my best to clean up the info to put it all into one place. Thanks for watching.
I have a question, maybe you could help. I looked up all over TH-cam. Can't find anything on this. I have mine hooked up. The daylights work properly except whenever I use my blinkers. left or right. the opposite side daylight blinks with the blinker. So if I'm turning right the amber light blinks like it's supposed to but then the left side daylight blanks and if I'm turning left. The left blanker blanks like it supposed to. But the right daylight will blank. Do you know how to fix that. Thanks
@@jonathanolivas5724 I actually return them and picked up a similar pair that I didn't have a issue with. I did have hyper flashing so I did have to get a Load Equalizer but the thing was almost a hundred bucks.
Hey there, I did get the hyper flash on the speedo, but I will say, the rear still flashes like normal and the front goes from yellow to white and doesn’t go like crazy. I do have a Vance and Hines Fuelpak and I was able to clear the code for the hyper flash. If it really bugs me down the line, I’ll end up ordering the relay which is like 15 bucks and straight forward to install. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
@@BrassAmTV Yeah, not too sure, I have a LED headlight from Amazon but that was plug and play with the same wiring harness and didn’t have any issues with that alone. When I added the front blinkers I got the hyperflash, but was able to clear it with the FP3 and have no check engine light issues. I imagine if I had an “older bike” I may have run into an issue right away with the headlight change, and also if I would have also switched the rear lights to LED’s I may also need a equalizer plus relays. So far I’m still running strong without relays and on my stock battery, haven’t lost or reduced power. 🤷🏽♂️
I do think it’s possible, but, there may not be enough “meat” on the threads of the lock nut to catch the nylon. So it may rattle off? Hope that makes sense, thanks for watching.
They are nice but now you have those ugly wires right out there tho for the new light the stock ones look nice and clean cause the wires are tucked away

@@nooowayyjose hey mate i did it & all work well thanks ! Do you have video for rear led installation from same bike or are you still using original turn signal?
@@awedihdaira2786 That’s awesome! I’m still running the stock rear lights, but have been looking for some mini LEDs for the rear end as well. I just haven’t come across some that I actually want.

They are always on, as running lights, in the color white. When I hit the turn signal switch, they flash between white and orange until they auto shut off or I hit the switch to cancel. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.

I don't know about load resistors. LED uses a very tiny amount of voltage right? So is that to keep them from burning out?
