With the horizontal shots if you move the aiming circle away the shots will end up coming out forward instead of upward. Much easier to hit smaller or closer targets this way. Also, with the spring you do a horizontal shot, then land with a lvl 1 charge in whichever mode you were in (vertical or horizontal) when you hit the spring. You can use this to do a quick one two horizontal vertical, as you said, or do a quick horizontal into lvl1 charge horizontal if you want. Not optimal, but in solo hunts with quicker enemies it can be good for rapid repositioning. Horizontal spring>charged horizontal>swap vertical>horizontal spring>charged vertical>boom.
This, also instead of using the helicopter as I like to call it, people should try celestial thread. Lvl2 charge after using an attack just like helicopter but much faster and you can reposition and just fly across the battle field much better. Two things One: wish I could switch the aim direction of the volly. It's backwards compared to regular aiming. (If I missed this setting PLAESE let me know) Two: hate how aiming out of the glider forces your camera down. It's annoying. I assume upping sensitivity would help with this? Will try it.
I haven't used the bow or cannon, yet. Once I got the staff I was really interested and then I played around with the claw blade because holy shit. 😂 Flying around like Attack on Titan and chopping up monsters is my absolute favourite. 😅
An easier loop without being standing in one place use vertical then spring shot then double dodge and shot again to detonate if you double dodge you will shoot immediately without waiting for the bow charge
Question for people who have played bow themselves. Does it actually feel fluid? From this video it doesn't seem like there's any flowing way of switching modes, you just stand there for half a second before being able to shoot. And since there are 2 modes and 2 bolster levels you'll stand there for half a second three times every time you want to switch mode and bolster twice which feels very rigid. The 4-directional dodging during firing also looks a little weird. Since World upgraded the flow and mobility of bow in Monster Hunter I've been maining it there and here it just feels like an even more rigid version of Old-Gen Monster Hunter bow, just firing more arrows per second.
@@prsuave420 The glider fires the level 2 detonating shot directly downward, so it is hard to aim on small or fast moving targets. Was waiting for the bow, my favorite monster hunting weapon. Been doing the normal sword...and finding melee kinda difficult. I'll likely just go ranged again haha.
I don't know if there's a way to fix this, but I have experienced that ranged weapons in this don't seem to break parts as easy as any of the melee weapons. Might just be me, might just be the damage type, might be a actual balancing mechanic for risk and reward. You'll end up having to hunt more of something to get materials than if you used a close combat weapon and for that reason I recommend using claw blade for your parts gathering and bow on everything else. Claw blade is about as safe as bow once you get the hang of being a human kite and will break parts off easy peasy.
the only thing that bothers me with the range weapons in this game is that the target cam doesn’t work when your weapon is out, like it does for the ranged weapons in MH. really hope they fix that. still, bow is great. jump with a glider shoot. get insta double charged, then rain arrows, then jump on the box to quickly detonate. repeat. also, if you are on controller, turn down the “target area speed” in the camera speed options. turn it down just… all the way, then adjust it back up from there. it’s waaaaay too fast with its normal speed. one of the reasons the target camera, which they call the snap camera, NEEDS to work with the weapon out. would make the wonky aiming of the rain shot a little less wonky. (mostly i just hate having to turn the camera all the way around or put my weapon away to use the snap when the monster gets behind me. just irritating…

Both games are good but Rise definately hast more Weapons, Armors and Monsters. Rise also hast better endgame (Wild Hearts basically hast none) ... If you want more content for your money i would definately favor MH Rise. Rise is better. Wild Hearts ist fun too though, but way too expensive compared to Rise
All mh weapons are better in general and by comparison. More skills and smoother. Plus multiple playstyles and builds. But to be fair they've had many years to perfect it
Any weapon in WH is going to be a lot simpler than weapons in MH. You need to compare it in combination with the Karakuri, which is half of the complete moveset of the weapon.
@Trebolf I mean yea but also no. So if we are talking about base to base mh weapons have more diversity. Then if using sunbreak we do the added movesets, switch scroll that lets u have to different variations, and the silk bind moves theres no comparisons. that gives every weapon much more diversity. I believe most weapons have at least 6 silk bind moves which I would compare to the base karakuri movesets for each weapon. Now there are 6 base karakuris. 2 of them (the celestial thread and the torch) don't really add moves to the weapon. Just properties. The crate, spring, glider (sometimes) gives u unique moves for each weapon and the stake just give u the same move that the crate does. So most weapons only have 2 or 3 additional moves on top of a smaller moveset per weapon ( compared to mh). And we are not going to add fusion or dragon karakuri to that because they do not impact the weapons movesets at all and function the same with any weapon. They are more comparable to items in mh. So yea weapon diversity/ moveset is far greater in mh. Not that I'm not enjoying the game. I just want more moves and more complexity for the weapons.
U know what the issue now is. If u say that’s the best weapon most ppl because they can’t make a choose themselves u will see most of them using boy and making it boring.
Not sure what the start of the video showed besides the fact that u need almost double the amount of time most endgame bow users need for a lowrank kingtusk ...
But it's just so boring. Maybe it becomes more interesting, but it literally just came down to: Shoot horizontally until many arrows are in the target with 2nd or 3rd level charge, then use Dragon Pierce.... I mean, vertical shot. Repeat.
Your shots that do 1 damage dont stick to the Monster... You are too far away. You are wasting so much damage. They dont detonate because they dont stick

really hope they fix that.
still, bow is great. jump with a glider shoot. get insta double charged, then rain arrows, then jump on the box to quickly detonate. repeat.
also, if you are on controller, turn down the “target area speed” in the camera speed options. turn it down just… all the way, then adjust it back up from there. it’s waaaaay too fast with its normal speed. one of the reasons the target camera, which they call the snap camera, NEEDS to work with the weapon out. would make the wonky aiming of the rain shot a little less wonky. (mostly i just hate having to turn the camera all the way around or put my weapon away to use the snap when the monster gets behind me. just irritating…
Need a screen shot of the full bow tree!
Besides it being the same as every other weapon, I'm not sure that's actually even possible because I don't think you can zoom out that far
Not gonna lie I get kind of confused switching back-and-forth between horizontal and vertical and remembering to do the reinforcement buff, I like bow better for multiplayer where I have more space for thinking & errors lol
Basically just stay in Horizontal Mode for most of the hunt. The only times you go Vertical are to bolster and explode the Haya arrows.
Do you get a lower defense or increased damage from monsters when playing range weapons like in Monster Hunter?
Nope. No ranged tax. There is a fall off distance though. Beyond a certain distance everything hits for 1. No minimum distance needed though.
If you are Out of range (1 damage) Your horizontal shots won't stick in the monster either. You can't detonate them because they were Out of range
Man can you change "Voley" settings for the controller?
BTW I'm glad I found your channel, grate videos!
Sensivity only i Think, look for "area" keyword
@@DiogoSanti There is no setting to change it, I just need to adjust and muscle memory will come in time. tho thanks for anserw. /sorry for my English.
@@kosciarz In PS5 at least there's 2 settings for area sensitivity just for bow... Take a double look
@@DiogoSanti Yes, sorry my English is bad, I meant when you shoot with "volley" second charge horizontal attack is inverted or what ever it is called. when you push up is going down I wanted to be normal, but I do not see option for that. Tho thank you so much for yours time with all the reply.
@@kosciarz Ohh I see, I think there's also a configuration to invert selection as mine is norma... in volley I pull the trigger down and it comes down and so on
it is one of the most DPS i feel.
I actually don't mind the basic charge shots too bad you need 2 slots so it actually gets x2 charge fast 😐
Guys I will finish my second Platin trophy soon in iceborn. Should I play rise or wild hearts next ? On Playstation5 ofc
Volley, snipe, volley, snipe. Riveting gameplay.
14 min talking about the bow but no show of bow skill tree and armor he wears nice
It's not a build guide
How does it feel using the bow in Wild Hearts compared to Monster Hunter? Does it have any difference?
Mh bow is way better a lot smoother
Can someone write down the combo in actual buttons pressed lol ?
i feel like voley combos does more dmg than this one, especially with the skills
Which is better Wild Heats or Monster Hunt6
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
U know what the issue now is. If u say that’s the best weapon most ppl because they can’t make a choose themselves u will see most of them using boy and making it boring.
Im actually disappointed in rage gaming because Josh is supposed to be a GS main but he has detailed build videos for everything BUT the nodachi
Only thing that sux is having to do the EA thing to play multiplayer. If you know then you know
Id lile to be able to play the game but performance issue wont let me .......
Plz for the love of God, aim bow straight instead of arcing the shots
Not sure what the start of the video showed besides the fact that u need almost double the amount of time most endgame bow users need for a lowrank kingtusk ...
But it's just so boring. Maybe it becomes more interesting, but it literally just came down to: Shoot horizontally until many arrows are in the target with 2nd or 3rd level charge, then use Dragon Pierce.... I mean, vertical shot. Repeat.
Play cannon
All theses vids and its gonna get nerfed lol just when i was enjoying it
Don't want to be that guy but apparently every weapon is the best weapon in the game lol
The bow definitely feels clunky in this game and it really doesn’t feel that good def needs a update for it
Your shots that do 1 damage dont stick to the Monster... You are too far away. You are wasting so much damage. They dont detonate because they dont stick
OMG he's so irritating
Please just make a new monster hunter
Doesn't know how to volley properly talking about mAx dAMaGe
The game looks so easy compared to MH ... not sure if it's a good thing honestly.
Aim up, the arrow flies out of your hand, aim down the arrow comes out of your torso.
70 dollar game.
Does fast draw work for bostered vertical stance
