its not going to be as loud due to the cone area, also sundows require a more power. Maybe try a ds18 zxi 12 as they are very sensitive woofers and affordable.
I think the problem is not the sundown subwoofer is the piss, poor tuning of the box it is in also the amplifier that is powering it I think the party box is good for what it is and it can be incredibly loud but that’s all it was ever meant to be
Toro Tech Force 12, 12" 1500 Watts RMS - 3000 Watts MAX What I plug in. Except that the speaker doesn't fit in the body of the jbl since it's bigger than the hole so I left my speaker in its box and I simply connected it with a wire from the JBL to the subwoofer of my Toro. The house vibrates everywhere!!
I say blow it up. Yea to improve sound of bass you need to match the subwoofer with the factory JBL amplifier and find a similar to factory Sub with more efficiency and response to that factory amp ( ie less stress on the amp ) to bump it up
Definitely do the ultimate next! I wonder what you could replace the ultimates subs with. Maybe dual 8 inch or 9 inch sundown's lol. Cant wait to see what you may do
Less cone surface area, no information as to sensitivity of either sub, different size requirements for box area, higher base impedance for the sundown. Just a really pointless test with no information. If the sundownis is less sensitive than the 300W 12" (highly likely). Of course you didn't get a positive result. The amp that's in the party box was placed in there to power a 300W RMS sub, not a 1200W RMS sub. The only way to get more SPL would be to replace the stock sub with one of the same cone diameter and higher sensitivity so that it generates more output per watt. You'd also have to find one that has similar box size requirements.
2 things 1. you measured it with dbA not dbC dbC is meant for low frequency measuring so it was not accurate 2.less cone area so off it can be louder and higher impedance, plus that sub is underpowered and has a sensitivity of 85.4db and the bbl sub has a sensitivity of 90db because it is rated lower so of course it will be less loud
PartyBox 1000 is limited by the amp right? I tried changing the subs in my 110 for more powerful ones but it didn’t get any bassier. I just got an amp at that point no point messing up warranty
@@AudioTribe shame really but for the size they are great speakers anyways. Would love to own a 710 one day tho my 110 will do and maybe I should get him a buddy soon 😆

Since it's an 8inch the best suitable would be on the 710, replace the bottom woffer with this one and if the sound improves then replace another one too and the result would be interesting 😍👍
the only problem with doing it on the 710 is the only drivers in it are those 2 8 inch full range woofers so if you replace those with sundown subs it will be nothing but bass, it would be best to do it on the partybox ultimate since its still got the 2 mid range drivers and the 2 tweeters
@@CoolD10 it's not fullrange drivers at all, the 710 also got two 2.75"tweeters. Yes the woofers are also made to produce som mid voice(lower mids) but very minimal sounds can be heard except for bass. It's like a subwoofer overall.. So change only one driver will affect much of the sound i guess..

Sundowns is meant to be in a ported enclosure with lower starting impedance than 5ohms. Additional sounded like the box was flexing more than the SA8
I mean the box is already ported and the amp is 4ohm so the sub been wired 5ohm is on the safe side.

Why does one measure below 100Hz with an A weighted meter?
Is that a sealed box? Needs a proper box and a lot more power for the sundown. Also cone area is king
These are ported boxes. This box makes up for the lack of power thats why it maxed out , as its way too big for the 8"
