Because the film techniques used in the mid 2000s were not lazy time/money saving shots. I think one of the things about Raimi's version of spiderman is a meticulous need to show the character's emotions, even in fight scenes. Even with Tobey in the Spiderman suit, his stances and the way he fights shows depth to his character. Here you can see an almost animalistic side to Peter Parker. The fight between him and Sandman actually paints him as the bad guy. Because of that desperation to avenge Uncle Ben and that inability to forgive, we as an audience may view his behavior as temporarily satisfying but we know he is wrong; Spiderman doesn't kill people. All of that adds dimension to Spiderman and separates him from every other super hero. You don't see those overarching themes with the newer spiderman movies and its just laziness on the part of the production as a whole.
I remember how hyped me and my little brother were for this suit! Every new movie Tobey got we were so damn proud of him.. lmao. We were just little kids but it just shows the place Tobey's spiderman has in our hearts! Haha! The OG suit will be HOF forever.
I love these old school Spider-Man costumes without the animated eyes. I hate that in the Tom Holland films. Makes him look like a live-action cartoon character.

Yeah that editing mistake has always felt very jarring to me. I always forget it's there until I watch this scene. It feels they left it accidentally in the full length picture and was made for a promo trailer or TV or such.
There’s a huge difference between This symbiote suit and the one from the Spider-Man 2 PS5 game. (Amazing game btw.) In this movie, while Peter has this suit, he becomes more aggressive and rude. While in the Spider-Man 2 game, Peter also has these characteristics but they’re more intense. In the game when you fight Kraven, Peter yells “WHERE??” To a guard when trying to find Kraven. This gives me chills because he didn’t say the whole sentence, assuming that the guard knew who he was talking about. He also tried to kill MJ. All Peter did in this movie was give MJ and Eddie and Sandman a smack. And did some yelling too. But in the game, Peter actually acted like Venom himself. Which is more accurate because the suit is supposed to turn you more and more evil as you wear it. While I love what they did with Tobey and his suit here, I think they did a much better job with Peter and the suit in the game.
This and Spectacular follow the formula that the suit exaggerates your own character flaws and gradually suppresses your good characteristics while you are still completely in control of your own actions. You become the worst possible version of yourself the more you rely on the suit’s power, making it more of a drug addiction/alcoholism metaphor where the symbiote deliberately encourages you to push away all your family and friends so it is all you can depend on. Giving it more food off the negative emotions in your brain. Meanwhile Spider-Man 2 (and from what I’ve seen TAS, I’ve not watched the show so forgive me if I’m wrong but going off what brief snippets I’ve seen) goes more for the ‘evil alien body-snatcher’ angle where the host is gradually stripped of free will after having it on for too long and only a tremendous display of that willpower (or in Spider-Man 2’s case, a really kickass boss fight as Miles) is enough to break free of its control. The symbiote’s more of its own entity with goals beyond just ‘feeding’. It wants the driver’s seat of the body. Both are pretty interesting but I must admit I think I prefer the former. I feel it’s more beneficial to Peter’s character and the consequences are more compelling when it’s made clear that Peter is still in control of himself. The suit changes him, undoubtedly and he’d never do this stuff on his own but ultimately they are emotions and actions that originate from him, he has to deal with the consequences even after the suit’s gone.
I get what you’re trying to say. And I had a thought in my brain that I couldn’t figure out how to say and you said exactly what I was thinking so thanks for that! I prefer PS5 symbiote suit because they made Peter with the suit in this movie too “human”. In the PS5 game, they made Peter change into a whole different person. I think that was their take on the fact that venom is an “alien”. They definitely tried to incorporate that into PS5 Peter’s attitude with the suit. And I loved the outcome. The only thing I hate about PS5 symbiote suit is the symbiote tentacles that Peter can shoot out of his hands and back. That’s not accurate the comics and they just added for extra coolness. But it’s not cool. It should’ve just been a suit with no tentacles like the one in this movie.
"All Peter did in this movie was give MJ and Eddie and Sandman a smack." These things have consequences that follow him beyond the movie's ending. He assaulted Eddie and got him fired (Not saying it's bad to expose him for faking photos but it was out of malice instead of trying to bring Eddie to justice, as well as him just being rude to Eddie in general), hit MJ (and his relationship with MJ was already strained but after hitting her its worse than that), and tried to kill Flint out of revenge which non symbiote Peter would have a huge problem with. (only reason he survived is because he's sand but Peter definitely thought he was dead). Plus Peter's ego being inflated further than it was without the symbiote, and it was already a problem pre-symbiote since it messed up his relationship with MJ. It's disingenuous to say all he did was hit MJ, Eddie, and Flint as if it wasn't a big deal to Peter.
Thankfully they put him in the Spider-Man 3 game so at least there’s that. I had a Mandela effect where I swore he was in the movie cause I played the game so much
3:40 I like how Spidey does a pose with his fingers to make them look like claws, which Venom in this movie has, and actually does the same pose during the the final fight (when the police try to investigate)
These movies are dramatically accurate while maintaining the excitement of Spider-Man’s vast capability and humanity. The other two series just seem injected with tons of comic book goofiness that takes away from making a movie like this subvertable.
I think Pete has multiple costumes but the symbiote just absorbed one of them. As for the survival thing, I assume the symbiote can last a while without a host, it arrives on a meteor after all so it must be able to delay the length in which it feeds. So the small few minutes/ hours that it was bonded to Peter in the first scene was enough to last it until this scene, knowing that Peter would put it back on when he was seeking his revenge
I like how a physicist just knows all this from looking at something under a microscope and isn't remotely freaked out or absolutely wowed at what seems to be a hitherto unknown form of life.
I genuinely loved how the spiders on his chest and back became more monstrous in the black suit. These subtle but significant alterations are everything
This should have been the moment Sandman got transported to the MCU. That way it makes sense why he would fight Peter: The MCU Peter had a black suit and Sandman didn’t know Peter was Spider-Man
I've always wondered if Sandman is immortal? I mean water can just melt him and that's about it, but besides the water is there anything that can actually kill Sandman? 🤔
In the scene where he talks to Peter at the end of the film, he's shown crying. Therefore, I think he will die as he appears to have a regular human life force in his sand body. On the other hand, in the animated show, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Sandman can't eat anymore as he no longer possesses taste buds, so it appears that he's immortal. *Edit:* By the way, I prefer it the way it's done in Spider-Man 3 - On the surface, The Spectacular Spider-Man version may look more realistic, but upon true analysis, if Sandman has eyes and ears, every other part of his human anatomy should logically be kept intact. In addition to this, Sandman should realistically be very upset that he can no longer experience the pleasures of life such as food, drink, and sexual enjoyment, subsequently demanding a cure as a result.
I mean if he’s just matter, and if he’s alive as long as some of him is still existing, and if the Toby-verse still acknowledges “matter can’t be created or destroyed” then him being alive is now a constant.
In comics he died due to his powers, idk exactly how though, but he can die. But whether or not he can be killed, I think so. Sure he's made of sand, but he can also absorb outside sand to make himself stronger. So that means if the sand that makes up his body, the sand that is actually him and not outside sand from other sources, is destroyed somehow then that will probably kill him
Well it didn't talk to Peter because Venom was attached to his suit and not him physically. Not until later when he wears his costume under his street clothes does he begin to bring out the bully in him. Venom immediately changes Eddie because of his hatred for Peter and convenience of him being in the same church as Peter when he removes venom from him. It attached to Eddie physically instead of just his clothes.
"He is!..... a good boy......he must be in some kind of trouble" I know bully Maguire is a thing and I love it but that delivery was actually well done, there was genuine concern there
And that dude is never concerned with him, he's always nagging him about rent. It clearly shocked him when he yelled back

Now this is actually the monster under my bed
the CGI for the simbiote is actually so good
Spider-man 3 is better than all the new ones.
I like No way Home
I genuinely loved how the spiders on his chest and back became more monstrous in the black suit. These subtle but significant alterations are everything
This should have been the moment Sandman got transported to the MCU. That way it makes sense why he would fight Peter: The MCU Peter had a black suit and Sandman didn’t know Peter was Spider-Man
Honestly I think Spider-Man 3 has too be my favourite movie
His facial expressions at 2:48 - 2:50 😂😂😂
7:59 I LOVE IT 😭 I SWEAR THIS SPIDERMAN COULD'VE BEEN 5 OR 6 MOVIES, DAMN
When he did that spider swing at 5:30. He caught him twice 😳
7:41 You'll get your rent when you fix this DAMN DOOR!!
This is when Tobey became Symbiote Spider-Man
Really?
@@M3Hardc0re yep
Really?
@@flappyblock yeah
You sure?
3:40 More moments like this and i’d scream like a baby ! The music with that swinging was a MASTERPIECE !!
Part of the symbiote is still in tobeys universe Connor’s kept a piece of it but it probably died off
Could’ve escaped and ended up with Cletus !!!!
Spider-Man 5😭😭
Not hearing the Fart and Scooby Laugh at 4:24 really is disappointing
I've always wondered if Sandman is immortal? I mean water can just melt him and that's about it, but besides the water is there anything that can actually kill Sandman? 🤔
Cement
Maybe fire? Fire turns sand to glass, could only imagine that he can’t move at all once glassed but don’t watch much marvel stuff
So that means if the sand that makes up his body, the sand that is actually him and not outside sand from other sources, is destroyed somehow then that will probably kill him
Goat Spider-Man
This scene alone is better than all MCU movies combined.
Best spider man fight scene IN HISTORY!!
4:25 i expected a loud fart
Professor was pretty chill about that alien life form
Who is here in 2024 to watch this masterpiece...
Jesus’s the memories dude I watched this so many times as a kid
Anyone ever notice venom speaks to eddy but never spoke to Peter Parker .
Lol, that's in an alternative universe.
The symbiote never talks here in this movie, its more of an animal with an instinct to survive than with concious
I always believed it was the symbiotie speaking at the end after “killing” sandman. But as the dude above said, it behaves more like an animal
The black Sue is one of my favourite Spider-Man souts
Me: *is born*
My Dad: 4:24
I always found it funny when Peter pushed Flint’s head against the passing train and it looks like when you push a piece of wood against a sander 😂
Well like it or not you cant deny that suit gave him the edge over sandman
And made him a Lord of Edge.
@Anxiety-tv But he beat them all
@Anxiety-tvThe robber in the first movie. Broke his wrist but DIDN’T push him out the window.
@Darkwear-vr8bihe never killed any villains, they killed or sacrificed themselves
@@TheRealRiptide01Spider-man killed Electrio in TASM2
When you finally get a cinema visual of how strong the black suit can hude in plain site was menacing
