    How is the Singapore to NY flight a similar length to the Singapore to LA flight? Is it because SQ flies by the North Pole, a different route than depicted?

      Look at the globe picture in this blog postonemileatatime.com/singapore-airlines-nonstop-us/

      Basically look at the path on a globe vs on a flat map and it becomes clearer why they are about the same length....as you guessed the shortest distance is "up and over" versus "across" the ocean

    And now starting from Jomo kenyatta airport in Nairobi is Kenya airways doing 15 hours to J F Kennedy airport in New York bringing quick efficient connection between the East of Africa to the East of the USA. Business and leisure travel is going a notch higher.

    "Premium economy is going to become the new value seat"
    Premium economy is literally the new business class.

    • @profligatepassages
      @profligatepassages 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No its still just like economy service on most airlines but with a nicer seat, business class service blows it away. Flying US Airlines youd miss that most other airlines have Business and FIRST class as well as premium economy and economy.
      But that statement couldnt be more accurate in anyway. PRECO will be the battleground not only for the airlines but for PAX who want it as well with limited availability.

    • @arrgghh1555
      @arrgghh1555 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is nothing economical about premium economy. You pay twice the price for 10-15% more room. They should rename it shitty business class.

    • @profligatepassages
      @profligatepassages 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arrgghh1555 no shitty business class is United or British Airways. It genuinely is premium economy and idk where you see double the price. Im looking right now, $880 DC to Beijing Premium Economy compared to $600 for economy. Just one of many examples. Domestic Comort+ or Economy+ is different than premium economy and if thats what you mean then I agree thats a total joke.

    • @arrgghh1555
      @arrgghh1555 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SYD to LAX economy $850-1200. Premium economy $2350+
      Singapore to Dubai econ $700-1000. Prem $2150+
      Perth to London econ $1000-1600. Prem $3200+
      Premium economy is a joke.

    • @Token_Nerd
      @Token_Nerd 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      First class started out as a wider seat, then it got better food and more perks so then they added business class, which was also just a wider seat, now that business class has all the amenities of previous iterations of First Class for many airlines, premium economy is taking the role of business class.
