The floating indices were done by Casio in their Oceanus T2000 & others. The green dial is out of this world - GS level! Thanks for showing us something new.
It’s seems like a beautifully finished watch, and I think the price is reasonable for the specs (still outside my wheelhouse). Thanks for the great review. And yes, the competition at this price point is fierce.
I own a Nereide GMT and I'm very satisfied with it. A very good watch, with great finishings and if you buy it with the Venezianico discount code it has an incredible value for money
I'm one of those that much prefers an anodized aluminum bezel insert on a dive watch. I don't care if they get scratched, I just love that dull finish of an aluminum bezel. I do think the watch is attractive though. I think I'd like it more if it was scaled down to a 40mm case. Good review.
Thanks for showing this extraordinary dial in detail ! I think it fits better with a black rubber strap. The lug width is btw 22mm (not 20). Cheers, Frank
Well with each bezel there is a little bit of space between the clicks. So when I'm turning it like I am on camera it's really hard to stop right after the click.. I'm always somewhere between the two. So when I check for backplay I turn the bezel much slower and deliberately. Waiting until I feel / hear that click and immediately stopping. After that, I try turning it back to see how far it can go. Which I usually don't do on camera as it's slower and boring. People seem to be more interested in hearing the clicky action than anything else.
👍 I actually own the watch and the backplay is present at almost every click. After I turn the bezel, I must push it backwards for thr actual right position
It is a nice & pretty watch. Requires AR coating if it is going to glare too much. Otherwise, it is quite elegant except that the price may not be at the right spot.❤
@@manuzach well they did lower prices on the hydro timer after people complained. But who knows. They have more overhead than most micros, and are more used to competing with the bigger brands.
Hey Shane cool video. Nice color. I also reviewed it but the black version. I loved it and love what the brand has been doing, however i have to agree with you on the fact of the prices…. It is hard to compite on that range with heavy opponents and that’s makes it a thought decision to go for a Venezianico. Greetings my friend
Well I used to play both DnD and MTG, still got a ton of my old MTG cards somewhere. Although these days unless it's on the computer or X-box haven't been playing anything. Be fun to start up again, but have to find a good group. I was also thinking about trying to get into Warhammer 40k, but I hate model paiting, so not sure that would work. Anyway, I saw the dice online and started thinking that it would make a great prop to have with the watches. I was also feeling a bit nostalgic, so I got them.
@@RelativeTime I recently started playing MTG again after longer than a decade of not doing so. My Lady wanted to learn the game so that got me started again, its been tough on the watch budget lol but I don't mind it is a lot of fun we have a couple good LGS's here in Lubbock. Playing Commander format is a ton of fun I have 3 playable decks now and 3 or 4 more in the works now 😂
@@RelativeTime Warhammer 40k is $$$ I have heard MTG can be the same way but I think the buy in and cost maintenance is a lot more manageable since if you play for fun/casually and are not super competitive you don't end up needing or buying the expensive cards since Commander almost lets you use any card from the entire history of the game (and it has a rather small ban list).
@@Z-S-H That's cool. I keep thinking I should go find a game store and just hang out there. Although if I do that I don't know when I'd find free time to make these videos. Either that or maybe I should try to arrange an online streaming game with other watch reviews. Could be fun
Have to admit, love the dial, the case and the bezel. I do like the idea of a tungsten bezel. However I wouldn't buy it because if exceptional lume isn't applied to a diver that costs more than $500 it's a failure. That mother of pearl dial on a Presage style dress watch could be great. Brand and logo are very attractive.
Oh shut up, you had me at :32 with tungsten bezel. This is awesome already. The madreperla is flawlessly done, enough to be special, but muted enough to not be overly bling like a lot of MoP dials are. Love the case back, love the hands. Love it. I’d take this “hulk” over a Submariner any day. Seriously Rolex, Zelos did a whole watch in tungsten (!), and some obscure Italian micro can do a bezel in it (ideal, practical, limited use of that difficult-to-work material). Take note, Swiss majors. That said, the bracelet is stupid. Get it on a nice sailcloth or FKM strap and call it good. And final note, I just happen to be wearing my CW Trident Elite, which I got on a presale special. I couldn’t afford one now because they’ve raised their prices by 25-40% in a year. So there’s that…
I hate to keep bringing it up but if you do mind the miyota 9000 series go for a wise adamascus better everywhere else other than movement in my opinion
There are also some very solid arguments that a 9015 is just as, and possibly better than a Selitta / ETA. In fact, I've had a couple brand owners tell me they prefer it as they think it's more reliable in the long run, so fewer watches are being sent back for service. It's just that it's not as expensive, so some automatically think it's "not as good".
Here is their response. Hello Shane, thank you for the question! 😊 The strap is made of TPU, an extremely durable and versatile synthetic material. Moreover, unlike vulcanized rubber, it is 100% recyclable without limits. All our rubber straps are rigorously produced in Italy, where we can achieve a high and consistent standard of quality.
@@RelativeTime, Thanks Shane. I am really into rubber straps yet I have never heard of TPU. My preference is caoutchouc which is natural rubber. I also like vulcanized rubber. If memory serves, you prefer FKM. By the way have you tried NBR? I noticed a couple of TH-camrs recommend them.
I unfortunately disagree with you, it is the cheapest tungsten bezeled driver. And as you said, the mother of pearl dial in this combination is not available in any other watch. Their combination is more than unique in my opinion. I agree with you though on the bracelet. They should have done a better job and a specific bracelet for this line of diver watches. As for the selection being too confusing or have many choices I also respectfully disagree, they are providing a good selection of dive watches with very good dimensions and dial styles & finish, with the floating indexes, that gives a different take on other diver watches around that tend to imitate rolex or fail at perfecting their take on the dive watch category. At least in my opinion, coming from the point that the submariner is the perfect dive watch in dimensions, monotonous look & black lacquered dial. Christopher ward has good quality watches, but I wouldn't say the c60 trident pro 300 is much better. Tbh the tungsten bezel is so unique, it is a very solid selling point. As the next watch with such a bezel would be from Oris.. And it is 2000+€! The only thing that would make or break the watch is the shade/hue of green it has. It is very subjective tbh, i ordered one and also got the aventurine dial. I wanted to buy the diver from Christopher ward but the price & thinner bezel of the c60 trident pro 300 which is much like the omega planet ocean rather than a bold & thicker bezel as in the previous iteration the pro 600, and also the watch is not monotonous, having a rather cheapish red color and an arrow and trident spear on the seconds hand. Btw, I have the Mosu Black watch & the watch needs better anti reflection to appreciate the depth of the black dial.

What is the other watch at 4:50
That's the Jack Mason Avigator.

Silly name, but it's a cross between a navitimer and a trench watch.
I have one of their earlier watches and like the look of the butterfly clasp, but find it terribly difficult to size and awkward to use.
Love the dial and bezel.
Adjustable clasp and a different movement would really make it better. Even reducing the price and going for a 9015.
Good review. The dial is stunning. The strap looks cheap, sort of Invicta. Bracelet seems good. Thank you.
