Happy to rewatch this again after at least two years. Coming here after watching his skyward sword playthrough, I'm glad his view of the game changed since his first oot 3d playthrough.

Master Quest screws with my brain way too much. Having grown up playing the original on N64 and such.. It's like trying to wander through my house looking at a mirror while doing so.
Grig Manbeard The different dungeon puzzles is also a bit mind screwy. In Jabu Jabu's Belly the switches are replaced by cows stuck in the walls of the dungeon and it makes no sense.
It's so weird for me, too. I know people who grew up with the GC version and it's hard enough to get used to different controls, let alone an entirely different game paired with it. OoT 3D was kind of the same for me--it's just so weird to see. The tiny screen didn't help, though. Made it feel cramped. Still like it, but the original holds a special place in my heart.

Oot is one of my favorite Zelda games. And I've only ever played the 3ds version. Despite my Zeld nostalgia being mostly of Twilight Princess, I still love this game.
i went to the high line that vinny was talking bout today.... sadley its filled with tourist but me and my gf played some quailty punk on the speaker and scared them away LOL hngg
There's still the Infinite Sword Glitch, ISG, and a lot of the bomb glitch tricks work including Super Sliding. Most glitches remain when it comes to physics, but a lot of the collision detection bugs letting you slip thru walls were fixed.
OOT is still a solid game-- it's not the best in the LoZ series but it started the whole 3D Zelda stuff, and honestly it's still a favorite. IDK why people are bashing on it??

People see this and assume that everyone thinks Ocarina of Time is the best game ever, which indeed isn't true anymore as newer games learned from what OOT and others introduced to make even better games. They then feel the need to point out the reasons why OOT is in fact not the best game ever, which leads to this weird situation where OOT is simultaneously overrated and overhated. You have those who never grew past 1998 and still think it's the greatest game of all time and you have those who in an attempt to argue against them have waged a personal war against OOT and its fans. You see this happen with a lot of massively popular games. Breath of the Wild hate has been getting a lot more common lately, for example.

I use to dislike this game and I still dislike most 3D Zelda’s windwaker is complete ass but like love this game the atmosphere is amazing it’s so strong he music is amazing and I don’t know it’s just fun and I never played oot as a kid
So I feel that since these sorts of things inevitably turn to the discussion on whether this game is good or not by today's standards, I feel I should put my two cents in. My overall opinion is, it's still a good game, but not really anything beyond that. The mechanics are fun, the puzzles are enjoyable, and the dungeons are pretty good too. However, the whole thing is pretty average. Especially the story, which is just layers on layers of generic. The only interesting thing is the concept of going back between childhood and adulthood, which doesn't even make sense from an actual gameplay perspective. Overall, I can still play it and enjoy it. But it IS NOT one of the best games of all time, not even one of the best Zelda games.

i could understand that its popularity has made it overrated, but that doesn't mean that it's still a bad game. but i wouldn't go so far in saying it hasn't aged well. few franchises made a successful jump into 3D. if you want something that hasn't aged well, try sonic adventure. it's like sega didn't know how to fix the bugs in 3D environments back then
ThePowerfulPaet its still one of the best games ever made. the atmosphere of the game is just that good, and there are so many details, big and small, that just draw you in deeper and deeper into the game. everything from the lighting, cinematography, music, characters, level design and story (as simple as it may be) meshes together so well. the combat is fast and gets the job done, without being intrusive. theres very, very few games that have "aged badly", dont spout bullshit terms like that just because you dont like a game. theres a reason why its so popular, and its not as simple as nostalgia
Hehahah, I hate glitchy speed runs, man. |D It's fake skill to skip parts of the game, in my hoenst opinion. It's the best thing ever to see this guy screw up... yet I also feel pretty bad. Over an hour of his life wasted. Anyways, anyways... good to see Vinny playing this. I've played this game soooo much, but Vinny is always fun to watch.
So the fastest speed run for beating the game is less the 17 minutes but you hate it because you cant do it yourself, if its fake skill then you do it and finish in less then 10 monutes~
