He can still use the Deku Nuts, what are you on about? It’s one of the few items available to you when you start out as an adult in this game. It’s equipped by default to one of the item slots in both the N64 and 3DS versions, same with the bombs. The only difference being the ocarina, since it has its own slot in the 3DS version.

First, I've been laid up for two weeks with a horrible sinus infection and it's taking a turn for the worse, and the videos of ocarina/majora playthroughs of yours are the only things keeping me going. Second, around the one hour mark you mention that it'd be cool if you could swap between dimensions as a puzzle solving mechanic for a future zelda game. There's a free series of online games called the Submachine games (you could finish the whole series in a couple hours if you are familiar with the puzzles) that has this exact mechanic, and that shit is a blast. Probably one of my favorite games of all time. If the idea sounds like something you'd enjoy, I'm just saying it does already exist and you might have fun with it if the mood ever strikes you.

For me this was the first zelda game I fully dived into, it was the first one I actually completed all the way through completely blind, and I loved every second of it. I was 12 I think when I got this for the 3ds, and it was amazing. I hold this one close to my heart because of how simple it is, adventure, dungeons, and it all walks a straight line. It tells a great story.
