I have the book and its wonderful, i also have scripture notes so i can see these scriptures side by side and read them and see the connections that they make. I love watching jonah and ward radio and anyone who talk about the apocrypha and the book of Mormon connections.

Starts at around 8:00. Great interview. Love Jonah and Rod.
By the way, I know this sounds nitpicky so please forgive me, but it is not proper to say 100 AD. It is proper to say AD 100. AD stands for Anno Domini or the year of our Lord. So, for example, we are living in the year of our Lord 2024 or AD 2024.
I really love the subject of this interview. It really has a lot of food for thought.

Well, since there is no way to go back in time and follow all the original sources, theories are all anyone is going to get until more information is found. Right now, these theories are very plausible.

@@ericredd5590You are assuming the pudding is coming from a premade box mix and it is the soft creamy sweet stuff. There are many other types of pudding. Your preassumptions for pudding are analogous your preassumptions about the things in this video.

The Bible authors refer to books not in the Bible with the context clearly indicating that the reader would be familiar with said books - it’s a fascinating topic

The Ethiopian cannon includes the book of Enoch and that compilation had nothing to do the Roman church - the “cannon” was arrived at in the Christian community by consensus (with some disparity) long before the council of Nicaea

Jonah Barnes stole the show at the FIRM conf.. If that's possible. probably not his goal. These, possibly stuffy, ideas were presented in a humorous engaging way. The Book of Mormon is being confirmed by the apocrypha just as it should. Jonah signed his/my book just before he presented. I wanted to share an idea for a second book from him but could not due to time constraints. I hoped to do it on sat. at the conf. but he had returned home. Here is the idea, hoping Jonah will read this. I've always wondered if the opposite affect(better that one man should die, than a nation dwindle in unbelief) of removing the brass plates from the Jews in 600 B C made it such that the savoir was able to be that lamb sacrifice. How much was the unbelief of meridian time Jews was due to the ordered theft of the brass plates 600 years prior??? Would the Babylonians have destroyed them ?? I think I can see the Savior as Jehovah working Here? Did Jesus/Jehovah help cause his own sacrificial demise??? It seems unfair to those duped Jews, until you realize that this same Savior will be those meridian Jews' advocate with the Father. Is there evidence of this in the apocryphal texts? I've realized why the lord will forgive who he will forgive, but of us it is required to forgive ALL men. He has perfect knowledge. We live in a world of theory's an assumptions. Even while offering charity to our fellow man. Many scriptures yet to come forth. See: Monty S. Nyman's article, Other ancient American records yet to come forth. Jonah is going to have a hay day.
Please comment on my theory 🙏🙏🙏 / 📿📿📿for you Catholics who do both.

Jonah, you stated that the brass plates contained a corporeal God and it was removed from the Bible. However, the BOM calls God the great spirit, and the lectures on faith that JS put together after the completion of the BOM and after he “saw God and Jesus” he taught God is a personage of spirit.
Can you explain this glaring flaw in your thesis about a restoration of things possibly contained on the Brass Plates?
How could JS still not know God had a body if as you claim he knew god did have a body because it was contained on the brass plates?
JS did not know it and the BOM did not know it.
Even if the BOM just got it wrong in the one place it covers it in the text, it never teaches that God had a body at any other point, So, even the BOM teaches us incorrectly and it is lost anyway.
I would think that God and his nature would be a fundamental truth, if JS and the BOM are wrong about that, it does not matter what else it may contain it is not teaching truth.
The most correct book on Earth cannot be teaching error and get us closer to God!
JS’s teachings shifted after the first “visions”, the BOM translation, and post Lectures on Faith.
The Brass Plates could not have been the source of the corporeal God knowledge.

Jesus, Joseph Smith and Jonah (JJJ) do not need to defend themselves here. I suggest that you apply the concept of charity here. (secular, benefit of the doubt) I get your doubt, but your dogpiling the doubt instead of offering the benefit of that doubt. With holding charity? Whoopsie?
It's all good with me. I'm not your judge!! I used the word "suggest" earlier. Your actual judge is allot smarter than me. He knows the intents of your heart. This is me, hoping you will go away sorrowing. (like the stoners) You decide. Your big now. HAPPY MINIONING. or NOT.

He has a flaw in his theory. I know in Mormon apologetics all you need to have is a theory. No need that it withstand scrutiny.

God is the Great Spirit and also has a Corporal Glorified Body. It isn't one or the other, but both. Just like duality of Jesus as both human and divine.

🤔 The APOCRYPHA was part of The ORIGINAL 1611 KING JAMES BIBLE and was REMOVED. Though The Now 66 Books of The King James Bible talks about 20 Books of Scriptures that are now Not Included In It. The WORLD'S OLDEST BIBLE is ETHIOPIAN AFRICAN that has 81 to 88 Books of Scriptures that INCLUDE THE APOCRYPHA

Please clarify the groupings of Apocrypha. I heard on Ward Radio Joseph had the Apocrypha in his own copy of the Bible. In addition to these known titles , Jonah mentions parallel texts even beyond any known to Joseph Smith, uncovered or coming to the attention of scholars and translators after Joseph Smith’s death. I must assume Jonah’s book covers both groupings those known to Joseph Smith and others not yet known to Joseph Smith , correct?

Three Witnesses with an Angel, 8 Witnesses handling the physical plates, one woman handling the plates a resurrected personage had, several who handled the plates under a cloth or in a box, and one person who said they glimpsed a corner of the plates during a trial.
