Im at a youth level with 7-8 y/o and we play 8v8. We are not allowed to have a nose but im thinking of doing this defense and have the nose be a 2 technique instead. No corners and no hound. Thoughts?
Do you mean did we have any success? If so, I'm happy to share. So we've certainly had tough seasons but I took over 3 schools that were either winless or in very bad shape the year before we got there. That first season or two in each spot was always tough. But in all 3 spots we won the conference within 3 years. At all 3 spots we used this defense. Most recently was 2023 when we went 8-3.
Thanks Sir!❤
What is this Whiteboard/Tactic Board website called? I really need it
That's the playbook in Hudl
Thanks Coach. If you had an H back in the backfield would you treat them as a back when reading the near/far backs?
Yes an H back can definitely be a near back. but we would never treat him as a far back since he is not a threat to carry the ball.
How is this alignment versus rollout?

We have had an 8-man coach use this defense. He loses the nose and the monsters
Curious. What was your seasons like running this? Would you mind telling us?
