Great video coach. How would you adjust the blocking against a 6-2 look on defense, we see that a lot in our league
6-2 would just be treated as an even front. 2 double teams and kick out the DE
Hey coach been doing some research and I am not seeing much triple option or even veer out of double wing? I know it is very similar to tight Flexbone only real difference is splits so I guess I’m a bit confused. Have anything that can shed some light on this? Thanks coach.
Most teams that are option based will operate with only 1 TE at most. However, Cary-Grove (Illinois Powerhouse) is a triple option machine and runs quite a bit from condensed sets. They have a 3 video series in our library that available for Touchdown members
What program are you using to illustrate the plays?
Hudl
@chiefpigskin thank you coach 👍🏿
Excellent! Simple and direct. You break plays down superbly! Thank you!
Thanks for the support, Coach!

The non-edited video you posted was actually unintentional satire to building an offense. Constantly restarting and adjusting your words to get the message you want in your video correlates exactly with the objective of the video-which is about “how to build your offense”
LOL! I never watched it like that. :)
I always loved the Inside Belly series. Incorporates dive, off tackle, QB keep and WB counter plus a very good play action pass in one series. Popularized in Illinois by the Bob Reade Augustana teams that won 4 straight National Championships from 1983 to 1986. Prior to that he coached at Geneseo High School in IL, and that system stayed in place and Geneseo was a state power from the 70’s and ran that system until like 2016 or 2017.
Not many around that know about the great Bob Reade!
Quality, I'm stealing this btw!
The key is your descion key. Making a quick sure read is important.
Haha relatable
Decision making is an important skill
Thank you. Very good. I used to coach years ago, and may start again. I’m an older guy who likes and uses the basic Full House T. I like simple. It works best for kids. One small change I used to use and save for later in the year, was to add an extra lineman to the side I would run a sweep. I would also put the back side HB in motion to the play side behind the FB and play side HB. The QB would reverse spin and pitch to the FB for the sweep. It always worked. The d-line never shifted the first few times we used it. When they did eventually shift, we would run a QB counter. These were easy to teach for the coaches, and easy for the kids to learn. I was coaching 11 and 12 year olds. Thank you for your site. I really enjoy it and learn a lot.
Thanks for the input, Coach!
I like the way the power offence looks. Is it possible to run this in a 9 man formation? Our high school league is 9 man ball.
Absolutely! Are you still allowed 4 in the backfield in 9 man?
@@chiefpigskinYes. I was thinking in order to run this, I would have to take out the 2 tackles, as most of the time our Oline has Center, 2 guards,
Excellent description of playing good football. I would also add to that play good special teams. Things like catching punts and kick offs, good directional punts and kick offs (drives me crazy when you can determine who will carry the ball and the kick/punt goes right to the opponents best ball carrier, usually on a line with no time for coverage to get there either). Obviously there is more to special teams than that, but just doing those things would make a lot of teams vastly better.
Great addition!!
Well done! As much as it has been related to the quality of our opponents, we've almost always found a way to finish the season strong and I think it is in large part to point number 3...we aren't changing our offense and defense, but running our system on both sides of the ball. The players understand their roles and especially the OFFENSIVE LINE understand their blocking rules to the point that no matter what a defense gives us, we find a way to block it as long as we are at least equal from the stand point of the offseason weight room development.
Consistency is such a huge advantage!
I remember thinking like “coach, you know dang well what’s about to happen to me here. But oh well” lol
Double dipping in the comments. We started winning when I took over our offensive line
I died laughing, almost cried, then yelled I sucked. Even have the 3 dvds in my library from the different defenses. 😅 We used to suck. Now, we are winning more consistently and had two shutouts last year
We've all been there, Coach! It's so hard to figure out how to be good! Congrats on getting it rolling!
@chiefpigskin i stopped buying dvds and started following a few coaches on here. Like you, Mac, seagle, etc. Most of the dvds give you the same stuff and dont add much value. I do, however, enjoy clinics and seminars. If i pull 1 bit of info from what a coach says, then it has tremendous worth for the investment. Im to the point in my career where I know who I am as a coach. Now im looking to become more efficient and refined. Meaning getting more out of less. Thank you so much for what you do and for helping us all suck a little less. Haha.
Hey trot over there standing straight up and take on that lineman 👊🏾
Is this Xbox or PlayStation?
It is either. We host the league on a discord. All the games are played as 'Play a Friend'
Excellent! Thanks!
Awesome
Coach, thanks so much for supporting our channel!
He's right about the next man-up mentality. I like this coach.
Thank you!
Thank You!
Thank you, I needed this!
This is GOLD haha!
Wow, this whole video hit home lol
"You have a really tall kid so just throw it up" For the love of god I've had to watch this the last 4 years at my HS and it's so annoying. I like the KISS method but 39 games in a row this has been the go-to strat where I coach smh
I've learned the number 3 in the hard way.
unfortunately, that's usually how we learn them all.
I love the Double Wing. I like to use it as a more creative I-Formation. Motioning into the I and using the fullback to kickout 3 techs so our OL can pull. Also a good coach adapts to his players so if youve got two stud wrs flex those TEs out!!!
Love this channel all the resources for aspiring coaches like me make it a valuable resource as i prepare for my first season as a football coach next year
So glad it helps!
And Thank you for supporting!!
We run shotgun wing-t. Putting the slot over also does wonders without changing any rules. It forces the linebackers to bump and gives you a nice hitter on the counter
Perfect use of unbalanced
Seems more like Wide Zone cutting off the tackle. Outside Zone is usually outside the TE.
I started coaching 11-12 youth football this year and installed tackle over out of halfback offset and I. We run iso to the tackle over and midline away. Used X over to stretch the C in order to help with creating space and to stretch OLB against counter out of Flexbone.
I like that!
Thank you Sir! This is the best channel to learn the great game of football
Thanks for the compliment!
I feel like line splits are one of the most overlooked offensive “tweaks” that can help teams. Tighter splits to cut down penetration, wider splits to get better angles.
Middle school air raid mix with some beast and dw motivation scheme practice plans read defense have plays that beat blitz always prepare for the unexpected focus on o line make sure you have good practice plans have good assistant coaches that followed your plays know you got basic it’s about 700 more different things it will take years to learn it all coach you spot on with this and last system is what win and keep away from assisting coaches that want your spot it fuck up your hole season
Feeeeed them
They do, every thursday afyer practice
Actually Tony, sometimes that's not a bad idea as a change up.
Im at a youth level with 7-8 y/o and we play 8v8. We are not allowed to have a nose but im thinking of doing this defense and have the nose be a 2 technique instead. No corners and no hound. Thoughts?
We have had an 8-man coach use this defense. He loses the nose and the monsters
Influence pull- LG
Awesome video coach! As a 3 yards and a cloud of dust guy … My only problem would be stopping myself from running this stuff on 1st and 10 when our regular run game isn’t working! Keep up the awesome content!
Thanks for the support, Coach! This stuff is my 'go to' on the goal line
This works I used it last year Shut a double wing team down That was averaging 70ppg We beat them 18-12 Just one thing I would say You need your two 2 techniques to buy into cutting If they don’t It won’t work & they well move the ball on you. So get that buy in. Use this when you go vs any wing t offense.
Coach what is the spacing of your backs. How tight is the fullback? What about wings to tight ends?
The fullbacks facemask should be 1 to 2 feet from the QBs butt. The wings should be able to reach and touch the TEs butts
What camera and mic do you use for this?
Canon R6, Lens - Canon 7200, Mic - Rode Go. Looks so good, doesn't it!!!
Keep up the good work. There isn't much on run fits online.
Glad you like it!
Coach! As someone who wants to get into coaching after the military, I find this really great.
