I've had a few people tell me they would have scrapped it long ago. Sometimes I wish I did 🤣.

@@neil... yeah I thought mine was bad! I’ve got all 4 arches to replace and various rotten holes all over. I just think ‘keep chipping away at it….

@@zactwentythree that's the attitude mate! I've taken nearly 2 years just working on it at weekends/days off. Feel I'm getting there now. Still loads to do though.

Some difrence using a mask lol every weld looks great once it's buffed up 😜
    Welding a car .85% grinding 10%fab 5% welding lol
Good to see you can see the light at end of tunnel
    👍👍👍😜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🦕🙂🤞✌

I remember my old h reg mk2 golf didn't have hardly a bubble of rust and it was 13 when I got it in 2003.?

Hi Gary. My dad had a Passat estate. G reg. Didn't have barely a bit of rust on it. Spent my childhood in that car. Happy memories. Over 350k miles on it when my dad sold it on. He looked after it though. No like my vans previous owners

About to tackle the same job myself. What gauge of Sheet metal and Mig wire are you using. Great Job 👍

      Thanks Paul. I'm pretty sure it's 20 gauge steel. 1.2mm. Wire is .6mm. 👍

Drop the fuel tank, it makes life so much easier, I wish I had taken mine out before I did and it’s dead easy to do.

I did think about dropping the tank mate. I'll definitely have to when I do the b pillar panel. I'll have a scan through the Haynes how to go about it for next weekend

@@neil... it’s in one of my videos,
Remove 3 screws from the black round hatch under the passenger seat. Disconnect the two fuel pipes, and wire clip from the top of the tank. Pull out the rubber boot from inside the fuel flap to reveal and remove the 10mm bolt and it’s ready to come out. Support the tank with a Jack and remove the 5 bolts from the support straps and lower it down. 👍 syphon off the fuel first to near empty as it is quite heavy and cumbersome with fuel sloshing around in it.

@@pdubs7831 perfect bud. Sounds like a plan. I'm gonna drop it for cleaning up the underside. Was putting it off.
      Syphoning diesel... lovely 🤢🤮
